Stopped for lunch. Noticed the prices were high for Mexican food, but decided to try it and see if it was worth it. I ordered the tamales enchilada style, they were ok, I had better from street vendors. Beans and rice just your basic taste...and a bit bland. My friend had tacos and enchiladas; again, nothing special. Atmosphere was like any other Mexican restaurant, nothing special. Service was fine.More

Been going there off and on for many years the other restaurant is great also love their tamales and chicken chimichanga are two of my favorites. Always get tamales to take home. Be glad when LV opens up miss the kids coming to visit and...the great restaurants in the city.More

Great stop! Never had tamales before but tried them here and they were delicious and filling! The fresh guacamole was out of this world! Salsa and Nachos also lovely! Well worth a visit!

This is a restaurant worth searching out for some authentic, good old Mexican comfort food. They say 'tamale shop' but they have the full range of typical Mexican dishes. Of course, if you put 'tamale' in the name, they better be good, and Doña Maria's...are--really good with plenty of meat filling and not too much masa. I got a combo with a burrito and taco as well--both excellent. The decor is simple (rustic even), and the place is usually filled with locals. Fun atmosphere, and great food.More

The food was great! The atmosphere was great! I would definitely go here again. Service was good. Price was a little high in my opinion but still good.

The food other then tomales is very good! No complaints anywhere. It is a drive for us to get there, so when we're in the area and mexican food appitite hits, Dona Maria's is that place to go.

Large parking lot with half the lot covered. So don’t let the heat or the neighborhood scare you off. Extremely clean and friendly. This is the place for Mexican food in Vegas. I thought the enchiladas where even better then the famed tamales. Very hardy....You will bring a dogie bag home even with the lunch specials. Well worth the ten minute drive off the strip.More

Figured it was best to order tamales at a place calling itself a tamale house. Tried chicken, beef, and cheese tamales on two-tamale combo plates with rice and beans. Dry masa, bland & chewy filling. If you get thie two tamale combo plate, just get...one to split between two people. We each only ate about half of these belly bombs. Maybe this place used to be good, but that wasn’t our experience. Pros: Nice hostess; plenty of free parking. Cons: I’d be willing to bet you can make a better tamale.More

The tamales were huge and delicious. I ordered two and struggled finishing them. Very authentic and very tasty. I highly recommend this place. About a half mile from Freemont. Try it out.
