At the heart of the Lazlo's Brewery & Grill kitchen is our one of a kind, hickory grill where we prepare Lazlo's signature Burgers, New York Strips, the popular Rainbow Chicken and fresh seafood. Our menu features a delicious and unique selection of homemade appetizers, salads and sandwiches, all complemented with made-from-scratch soups, side dishes and desserts. Our History: On March 20, 1991, Telesis, Inc. opened the state's first brewpub, Lazlo's Brewery & Grill. The innovative combination of home-style recipes, locally brewed beer and team service was an immediate success and has since grown from its first location in Lincoln's Historic Haymarket to three locations, with a Lazlo's opening in South Lincoln on September 27, 2000, and the third in West Omaha on October 2, 2006. To this day, Lazlo's Brewery & Grill remains the oldest brewpub in the state of Nebraska.

wonderful dinning experience

Had 8 family members for dinner at this location and it was so nice. They are practicing social distancing which was appreciated , we were seated in about 30 minutes as they prepared a table for us all. The interior decor is warm and inviting , has several large fireplaces which gives it a warm cozy feeling. The wait staff was spot on and very helpful. The food was very good , we had burgers, wraps , salads and appetizers and everything was so good. The smell of the hickory wood grill when you walk up outside is awesome, that in itself will make you hungry. The salad dressings are made in house Would definitely eat here again when I'm back in town. We liked it so much we also ate at the location down town and it was very good as well.

Excellent Food & Service

This was near our hotel and we chose it based on the great reviews. Did not disappoint and we had a great experience! I had the salmon with mashed potatoes and tomato basil soup - my salmon was cooked perfectly and the tomato basil soup was to die for. My husband had the filet with loaded baked potato and salad. We'd been traveling a lot by this time and he said this was the best steak he'd had in 4 states and cooked exactly as he'd requested. Our waiter Zach (Zack?) and the rest of the staff took great care of us. This is definitely a place we will return if ever again in Lincoln, NE.

Nice surprise

The place is open and clean with lots of outdoor seating and a large bar. The dining area is large with lots of room at the booths and table. The room has a lodge feel with stone fireplaces, vaulted ceilings, exposed beams, and leather seating but also a little too much beige. The service is well scripted and warm but clearly has a corporate, chain restaurant feel. The menu has all f the things you would expect but the food quality is better, more flavorful and fresher tasting than normally found at chains. The portions are generous but not obnoxious. Definitely worth a stop.

Good food, dishonest staff!

I went to have dinner, sat at the bar ordered on drink, 6 oz salmon with mashed potatoes and beans. Would have minded chips and salsa but it was $7.49! Salmon was really good, so was potatoes and beans but the bill came and the lady charged me for Two drinks and a 8 oz salmon. Extra $19. Very disappointing as I will be in the area for the next 5 weeks and the hotel is in walking distance! Good food but very bad taste in regards to the service!

Missing some favorites

Lazlo's wonderful coleslaw was missing from the menu when we visited last week. No beer bread, either. The excuse given was that it was too expensive to offer for free. Well, then, they could serve it heated with a side of butter or garlic butter as an appetizer, for a charge. Only the honey mustard sauce remains as a reason to visit Lazlo's, sad to say.

Enjoyable meal

The architecture of the restaurant is spectacular, with large glass windows, stone walls, and tall ceilings reminding us more of a ski lodge than a dining room. Our server was responsive and knowledgeable, answering our questions and providing explanations about the menu. We had the prime rib enchilada plate, which included Spanish rice and frijoles (refried beans), and the salmon avocado salad with green goddess dressing. These were both outstanding, but the enchilada was exceptional. The beans with cumin seasoning were the best that I can remember over the years. The pieces of prime rib were very tender and flavorful, and the melted cheese added to the flavors. The salmon was grilled to our requested medium well, and the dressing was made on site and very fresh and good. Our only disappointment was the beer and wine selections. For a grill and “brewery” in a major university town, the paltry offerings of beer were surprising. The wine list needs a total rethinking to improve the selection from mostly bottom-shelf brands.

Delicious Supper at Lazlo's

I chose this restaurant based on Trip Advisor reviews, and was not disappointed. After a short wait on a busy Tuesday night, we were seated and greeted by our friendly and helpful server. We ordered a lavosh appetizer (a flatbread with toppings without the pizza sauce) and rainbow chicken. Both were delicious. In fact, the lavosh was big enough to have been a meal in itself. I wish the menu had indicated how big it was or they came in half sizes. Service was good, though the lavosh took longer than expected, though they did apologize for the wait. It was a great meal with good service. I would definitely eat there again.

Prime Rib Enchiladas

I've eaten here before and had some great food, but if you can't do a particular dish great, I recommend not doing it at all. The Prime Rib Enchiladas were not great or even good. Both my wife and I left over half our dish on our plates. The best part of the meal was my wife's drink and our Caesar salads. The meat in the burrito was like a thin sliced deli beef. It looked exactly like what you'd get on an Arby's sandwich. Not good. The seasoning was almost non-existent. The beans and mexi-rice were not as good as what you'd get at any other mexican restaurant. I've done this before where I've ordered a mexican or asian dish from a popular restaurant not known for making those dishes, and I've always regretted it. Lazlo's was no different. Any other dish would be pretty good, just avoid the enchiladas.

Walking distance from the Hampton

We arrived late at the Hampton but need a bite. My husband and I were able to walk to the restaurant. We each had a beer and ordered takeout. The naked nachos, onion rings with the garlic dipping sauce and the apple crisp a la mode were all delicious. The server did a great job packaging our to-go order including bagging the ice cream separately !!

Lots of food choices. We all (5) had very different selections, and each impressed enough to order the exact same entree again. Their sauces were home made - the ranch was absolutely amazing. Some very unique options - burger w/peanut butter - but it was really delishious

My goodness. This place ceases to amaze me by how long they have been open, and the lack of quality, service and everything that goes into serving food. I have been to the Old Cheney location twice this month and both times were shoddy at best. Server will never come back and fill iced tea, water or check on anything. Prime Rib was so bland and tough I couldnt stand it. My mom had the tuna melt with fries and the fries were so soggy, limp and mushy nobody could stand looking at them. You people need to fire your cooks and get somebody in there who can run a frier. Burger King fries are better than this. Another order was a simple salad with no beans in it and peanut sauce on the side, neither of this happened when it was served, your EXPO's should be replaced immediately, as nobody is checking the orders and/or putting the order in correctly. How hard is this for goodness sakes when this is all you do? I am truly disappointed. No Thank You.

Good spot!

In town for work...sat at the bar for dinner. Staff was VERY friendly and welcoming. You could tell there were regulars sitting and the bartender made a point to get everyone involved in conversations...very nice. Food was good. Had the ribs. Sauce was very interesting. I recommend especially if you're staying at the neighboring hotel and need some friendly atmosphere!

Food and Service - Just okay

Not sure if I caught this location of Lazlo's on an off-night. My experience was just okay to average. Arrived just before 8pm. Seated straight away but ignored for a good 20 minutes. My seating area was not that busy and the waiter I guess did not see me. Ordered a steak with vegetables, and a beer. Service from this point forward was better. When my food arrived, I was asked to check the steak for temperature. It was good. Vegtables were a bit overcooked and I felt the portion was a little on the small side for the price paid.

Outstanding Brews

This is one of the best restaurants in Lincoln, NE. The food is great but plays second fiddle to the home made beer. Lazlo's has some of the finest boutique brews that cant be found anywhere else. So if your looking for a great meal with a specially designed beer to compliment the food then Lazlo's is your best bet.

Food Should Be Good!

We visited Lazlo's yesterday to celebrate two birthdays. Our server was very good, but the food left us wanting something better. I have been here several times lately, and each time I am left wanting a better dining experience. The food is very average or worse and I am left wondering why this is supposed to be one of the better places in Lincoln to eat. This was a very disappointing eating experience, I hope the management tries to improve the food service.
