A few days ago we had breakfast at Farmer's Daughter, everything was very fresh, delicious bacon, delicious hot chocolate, and delicious French toast too. We were very satisfied, and the prices are very good too. Definitely a good place to hang out with family or friends.

Disclaimer: Only went for pie. We have a tradition of trying to eat pie in each state we drive through on road trips. Found this place online and stopped in. If you love pie, this is the place for you, and we have high standards. We ordered the lemon meringue, coconut meringue, and chocolate meringue ( I don't think they had any cream pies, FYI). I'm not usually a fan of meringue pies over cream, but they did it well. Service was also super friendly. I plan on stopping by again when I travel up again to graduate from UNK for a celebratory slice!

Wonderful breakfast this morning! French Toast and pancakes were delicious and bacon cooked exactly to order. Friendly staff made us feel welcome. Highly recommend the Farmers Daughter!

Picture this: a quaint county diner in a sleepy small town, with locals that could easily be cast in a Hollywood western. The coffee is strong, and rough, just like the farmers who frequent this joint. And the hashbrowns? Well, let's just say that they come straight out of a package, but with a smile on the side. It's everything you'd expect from a classic American small town diner experience.

I enjoyed a great breakfast of pancakes, eggs and bacon. It was quick. delicious and reasonably priced. The ladies who work there were hustling. It was sooo busy, but they stayed on top of the orders and customers. The interior is nothing fancy, but I highly recommend eating here.

Stopped for lunch on a Thursday. Had the vegetable soup and 1/2 sandwich each. Soup was fresh. Veggies still firm it was delicious. Sandwiches had ample meat. Tomatoes were excellent. The ice tea and lemonade were good. The staff was attentive and gracious. We definitely recommend

Decided to try the Farmers Daughter Restaurant for breakfast this morning. Melissa our waitress was outstanding. My husband had the Sunrise platter made of hashbrowns layered with grilled onions, peppers, two fried eggs, topped with sausage gravy. Toast on the side. He said it was excellent and he can be hard to please. I had the French Toast and sausage patties. I’m not sure what they do to the French Toast but it is fabulous! Sausage was good too. If in the area, please give them a try. Cash is appreciated by a 4% discount off but not required. People were lining up for lunch when we left so it must be good too.

TL-DR: Fabulous place for breakfast and lunch. Just eat here.
Long review:
We stopped in around 245 in the afternoon needing a snack due to low blood sugar in my traveling companion. We assured the young waitress that we wouldn’t be long past closing time of 3pm. They had two pieces of raisin cream pie with exquisite meringue left and we devoured both. The crusts were a work of art in themselves - thin and FLAKY! If you’re so inclined, they have sour cream raisin on Tuesday and you can call ahead to reserve some!
We enjoyed good conversation with the server about life, children and that her grandmother is the pie matron of the establishment and she does it good!
The tables, floors and restrooms were spotless. There is local artisan work decorating the walls and much of it is for sale. The decor is everything you would expect from a small town diner, right in the downtown district of GI. Not slick, not urban grunge, not “chain food”. Real.

An Americana diner, step back into the late 70's, pretty clean, friendly servers I won't come back but glad I experienced it once!

Good home-style food. The menu is short and economically priced. We were there for lunch and had french dip and plain hamburger sandwiches. Both were very good! Friendly waitresses. I bet they make great breakfasts here! Do be aware that the cafe is only open until 3 p.m. I highly recommend this place for cooking like mom's (if your mom was a really good cook!)

Visited The Farmers Daughter Cafe with a group of about 15 while in Grand Island for the 4H Nationals. They were able to seat us quickly. Service was above par. Everyone’s food was great. We were there for breakfast with no complaints.

Classic atmosphere, classic hometown feel. The food was a step above ordinary. All special requests were just fine with them. I would have given 5 stars if we could have purchased a whole pie. But the 24 hour notice rule on whole pie kept us from taking one with us. As passers thru, 24 hour notice wouldn’t work this time, but we’ll remember it for when we return, we will!

Service is always prompt and friendly. They have home made pies and food but their chicken noodle soup is the best.

Farmers Daughter opens early and is known for their breakfast dishes and pie. Their peanut butter pie is to die for. One downfall is they do close early afternoon.
