Authentic Food!

The food here was very, very good and authentic tasting. The service was just average though. You have to try the blue (name?) margarita for sure!

No one will answer the phones to take an order for carryout. Love their food. Can't even order to support them.

The food was so good amd I didn't havee to wait because I had ordered over the phone. Just perfect. Also the place is easy to find.

Service refused for no mask, but no warning or signs that masks are required.

Absolutely terrible experience. I had pre-ordered my food for pick-up. When i arrived, i did not have a face mask or one available. Sign at entrance says masks are REQUESTED not required. Doesnt say anything about refusing service to people who arent wearing a mask. Once I walked inside i was immediately asked to leave due to not having a facemask. The manager was no help at all and only kept repeating himself, they had no spare facemasks to offer customers and when i asked for a facemask to wear, the manager was very rude and had told me to go somewhere to buy one. I was refused service for picking food up because i wouldnt go buy a facemask. Shaking angry as I leave. This is ridiculous. I wasnt even allowed a phone number to leave a complaint, the manager told me he was the only boss and owner.

We had a gathering of friends for a party of 8. We didn't have reservations but we were well accommodated. The building is okay but the service was really good as was the food. The place is just a bit dated and could use some sprucing up. But then I can also say the prices were good and the drinks were very good.

Great food. Seated pretty fast. Drink order and food order taken quickly. Took a little while to get the drinks. The food was very good. Had the El Jalisco Special. Very good and large serving. Service was a bit slow. The only reason I gave it a 4.

Excellent-This is “real Mexican food” made perfect!

It’s the salsa! In from Tampa for a 2 day business trip and took a chance at El Maguey. Was not disappointed. They say you have to go north to find real good Mexican Food and they are right in this case. Great food Great Service I’ve found a diamond of Mexican Restuarants and it’s called El Maguey!

Excellent food & service!

We were visiting friends and wanted Mexican food so we all agreed to come to El Maguey. When we arrived at dinner time, it was extremely busy and people were waiting out the door. I figured we would have to wait, but to our surprise We were quickly seated within 2 minutes. Erika our server was extremely attentive to our order and throughout meal. We never had to ask for anything. We got our amazing food promptly. It was fresh and so delicious. We ordered Pollo a la Parilla, a dish with chicken breast, mushrooms, onions and fresh green peppers with cheese. My husband ordered chicken breast onions green pepper and shrimp. I can’t remember what his dish was named. Both dishes were excellent! It is by far the best place we have been to as far as service and food in that area! We will definitely visit again. Thankyou!!!!

Speedy lunch service

Authentic food in an established location. While not the most attractive building in the world, the food tastes good and it is a comfortable setting. I had the fajitas and they were very good.

We love this restaurant. The food are authentic and the best salsa in town! Great atmosphere and fast service. The margaritas are so good and cheap! A mos def must try!

Late night cheap eats and drink

The cost for a jarritos pineapple soda, a flavored margarita, and grilled chicken smothered in Mexican rice and white cheese sauce was $18. The cheese sauce has to be enjoyed on everything you eat! It is the best queso EVER! I have yet to find a place across the country that can beat or duplicate it!

Authentic Mexican Cuisine

I love to go here on any day but Fridays are best. The food is great and Margarita specials are off the chain. Oh...did I mention that the 'Ritas are potent. Fast service is a hallmark but get there before 5pm for best seating. Whether inside or outside, you'll enjoy.

Best El Maguey in St. Louis County

What can you say besides "perfect". EVERYTHING in this store is excellent. No one to my knowledge has ever walked away hungry or disappointed. You may have to wait for a table, but it is soo worth it.
