Disappointed and Underwhelmed

Today we dinned at Stella Blu Kitchen and Pizzeria which opened its doors in July 2016. It's described as, a local (Glenrose Village - Belrose NSW) Italian Eatery that captures the hospitality and family feel of the Italian home. Overall, I was a little underwhelmed by the level of service, the time it took to get served and the food itself. It appeared understaffed with only one person taking bookings, orders, making drinks and serving the diners. It took over forty minutes to get our drinks and over an hour before any food was served. Please be assured that I am not critical of the lovely young lady that was performing this role. She was doing the very best that she could. Compare that to the staffing they have at the nearby Acacia Eatery, where they have five staff performing the same function, and there is no comparison. The management at Stella Blu needs to learn a lesson from the owners of Acacia. The meals we ordered were okay but nothing special. I honestly believe that this restaurant will struggle if it doesn't up it game. The people of The Forest deserve a little better.

Staff great, food so so

We ordered a caprese salad and pear salad for entrees. Both were fine and large servings, although some of the tomato was a little mushy. For mains we ordered Spaghetti Bolognese and Baked Eggplant. The Eggplant arrived cold and had to be sent back for reheating. To their credit they made a new one rather than reheating the original one but that of course meant I had finished my main before my wifes arrived. She sat and watched whilst I ate and then I sat and watched whilst she ate. My Spag Bol was okay but was very basic and really no better than the frozen ones I buy from the supermarket. I guess I expected something a bit better for my $27. The staff were very friendly and efficient so only the kitchen let the side down a little.

The Sausage Pasta Plate was Fabulous! And My Heart Was Earlier Set On Meatballs!

I went into this venue looking for a traditional Spag & Meatballs...until I heard the chef tell how they make the Italian sausage and sauce... I stepped off the plank, and tried...Very Pleased with my choice. the sauce had just that right bite of spice and the pasta melded~well. Nice meal, thanks!

Great service from the owner, food of highest quality, served professionally and children catered for. A real treat. Wines: you can bring your own but we enjoyed a bottle of Shiraz from the menu which was excellent.

Very disappointed with the veal - it was thin tough and over cooked. Staff did a good job very noisy - some people moved tables to get outside and away from the noise. It was much better 12 months ago we gave it a try but not again

Sometime between New Years Eve 22/23 and last Saturday night "someone" lost the plot?? Service was good. Food was really average and didn't they put the boot in on the prices. This is meant to be a local eatery for people to frequent regularly. It's pricing alone is out of most people's reach. Good luck. We won't be back.

Big disappointment

8 ladies went for dinner on Tuesday night. We had been numerous times before and had been very happy. Unfortunately something has gone very wrong with the food. We used to rave about the antipasto platter but on Tuesday night what we were given was absolutely not worth the money that we were charged ($67.50 for 3 people). We got 3 pieces of parmesan cheese (who puts parmesan cheese on an antipasto plate?), no other cheese apart from that. So obviously the same cheese as they would use for pasta. No olives, no bread to go with it only a few breadsticks that we could have bought at Woolies and a few pieces of meat and store bought stuffed peppers. We could have done better ourselves at home!!! One of us ordered the pumpkin ravioli that was absolutely swimming in oil, same with the asparagus. Also the rice in the risotto was undercooked. What has happened? The menu has been changed and it's nowhere near as good as it used to be and the cooks need to be taught a thing or two. A good point is the wait staff were fantastic and very friendly. Unfortunately, we won't be back any time soon. Big disappointment.

COVID conditions - ‘you must order a main meal each! Seriously?’

Food is good. But! A covid rule ‘you must order a main meal each, and you can’t share. rediculous!. Particularly as our 1st round of drinks were 4 x $18 cocktails and we ordered a second round before the food order was placed. As a result of the confrontation, we reduced our food order and still spent $385 on the meal (For pizza!) for 4 people! You were worried we would not make it worthwhile for you in these trying times? Rather than place a ‘must order a main each’ why not put a minimum per head of $50? COVID or not as a result of experience and the horrible attitude of your manager, we will not return nor recommend your restaurant to our friends.

We ordered our meal and waited and waited for quite some time eventually we got our meal. Pizza was burnt, chips was not hot just frozen packet chips. Battered fish was doughy very pedestrian and the veal was not what you would expect by reading the menu. Over priced. Do not recommend and would never go there again.

We visited on a Saturday night, was seated right away and I must say our waitress was superb, couldn’t do enough throughout our dinner. We had starters of arancini and the pumpkin ravioli which were tasty although the ravioli were a little heavy given they were served in burnt butter but nice all the same. The pizzas were also good with a nice base which is hard to find. Well worth a visit and reasonably priced.

Refreshing and delicious !

Refreshing and delicious is the only way to describe our dinner. We arrived at 5.30, still within the COVIDSafe social distancing. The service first rate and friendly and we almost had the restaurant to ourselves. Within an hour it was buzzing! We are so grateful to have such a high class restaurant in our local area.

Sister restaurant at Dee Why beach which shares the same menu pretty much. Better parking than Dee Why and the atmosphere is very pleasant. The Japanese restaurant next door is pretty good too.

An expensive takeaway Seafood Spaghetti should be called tomato spaghetti. Three mussels and two prawns. Then search for any other seafood. Very disappointing and will not be returning.

Disappointing on many fronts.

Meals of all four people were nothing special but I suppose it is only a restaurant in a suburban shopping centre. Entrée was very close to being burnt--I was surprised they served it. Second drink order during the meal had to be asked for again--no apologies were offered. Sunday surcharge of 10% hardly seemed worth it considering the standard of service. A credit card surcharge is expected but having to pay the credit charge surcharge of 1.5% on an EFTPOS transaction is wrong. I paid cash.
