Sitting on the pavement on a sunny morning in Spring with the locals and their dogs, enjoying very good coffee and as good a vanilla slice or croissant as you will find seemed almost indulgent! La Vespa is obviously a mecca for locals as the turnover of patrons was never ending. The variety and quality of food was excellent and distinguished this Cafe from many of its competitors. Social distancing was adhered to and the friendliness of staff and patrons ensured an enjoyable, casual experience.

Stopped here for coffee this morning. As our friends had their dog with them, we sat down at a table outside. After ordering at the counter, our coffees and croissants were delivered promptly, though our friends had to chase for their cakes! Our flat while coffees were excellent, and the food very fresh.

Farcically bad service. Server took ages to enter our simple order on the cafe iPad. We were the only customers inside. Wrong coffees arrived without food. Then we were brought and refused two unordered vanilla slices. Nothing came. After asking if we’d been forgotten and more than 20 minutes we gave up, asked for a refund, and left saying we wouldn’t be back. Amazing that a cafe could be so clueless.

I always bye my birthday torta and Christmas Torta here. I buy the Classic Italian Torta
and can i say La Vespa never lets me down. Always very fresh and the custards are beautiful. Have recommended to all my friends. Love this patisserie....

Each week my wife and I venture to a different area to explore the local shops and enjoy a morning coffee.
Sadly we found South Terrace had become tired and somewhat run down since our last visit. We expected to find some quirky shops but were disappointed to find places either closed or boarded up. We settled on La Vespa Patisserie for our coffee break. Our flat whites were acceptable but our accompanying snacks were not. My wife's biscotti was rock hard while my croissant was almost burnt and lacked the buttery mouth-feel one expects.
The cafe is obviously a favourite spot for locals (and their dogs) with most of the clientele being addressed on first name basis. However, I don't think the wait-staff should be petting dogs and handling food.

Pastries are the best in Fremantle, coffee great and the service is always friendly. Once you are a regular your coffee is remembered and the cafe has a community spirit.

A great spot to sit and relax, especially on a sunny day. The coffee is always good, and the selection of fresh cakes and pastries are second to none. Highly recommend the french lemon tart and the pecan tart.

I love the range of delicious cakes and pastries offered in this beautiful patisserie La Vespa. All the delights you wish for from eclair's to black forrest to what ever you decide they are ALL deliciously made and served.

This looked like a nice place so we decided to stop for a quick tea/coffee and a pastry. It was busy but we managed to find a table outside. One of us went inside and placed our order and came back out to wait. And we did wait, and wait, and wait. Not sure what was happening that morning but I'm sure that this cannot have been their usual level of service. As tables were vacated they were not cleared and tidied quickly and we saw other customers waiting just as long as we were...some just for a coffee! Occasionally a couple of servers would come out with a drink or food for a table but weren't organised enough to take something back from the dirty tables. If they were busier than expected or unexpectedly short-staffed such problems can be made a whole lot more bearable by an explanation/apology to waiting customers but there was nothing. The servers looked really worn down. We were visitors to the area and only went once so this review is based on just that one experience.

Award winning cakes and pastries. Nice spot for coffee and cake. Great place to pick up a desert if you can't be bothered making one. Impress your guests.

Great choice of French inspired cakes. Must try the variety of croissants sweet and savoury.
Coffee was great but took approx 15 mins to be ready.

Good coffee and the scones and jam are amazing, although sometimes the plain scones are the only ones left by afternoon tea.

A gorgous corner bakery with fresh beautifully made pastries and croissants and coffee.
We had a lovely breakfast comprising a mix of homemade fruit toast ,and croissants and pies and a cream chocolate eclair to die for!
Lovely sunny outdoor seating and friendly service.
South Freemantle is full of nice cafes but this one i definetly will return to when in Perth.
