Fantastic little shop, has great coffee and the best customer service. The manager (may be owner) was always friendly, it was just the small things like she learnt our names. Pet friendly, they love the doggos dropping in and they give bowls of water to them. Just a warning though, some days there are Mamils everywhere, so much Lycra! 😂😂

Great spot for a consistently good coffee

An almost daily stop for me while walking the dog for a coffee! Always great coffee and nice and fast. Service is good and a friendly atmosphere.

Best coffee place in town

Steamlab is our new favourite coffee place in town. The range of coffees meets every taste and they are consistently excellently made - the Workhorse blend is outstanding. Dave and the staff run a tight and friendly ship that efficiently gets your morning caffeine dose in hand with no fuss and a smile. The breakfast options are miraculous given the size of the kitchen and put other Perth venues on watch. Best scrambled eggs in town, and I can't recommend the angus burger with truffle mayo, bacon, avo etc highly enough. This place needs to be on the map as a serious eating venue.

The gentleman taking my order did not greet me, did not make eye-contact. I gave my order, a standard latte, for which I waited fifteen minutes. The couple three behind me in the queue, received their coffee and muffins before me. The very noisy crowd of men in lycra, [cyclists] ... were crowding the immediate area outside this cafe, along with the steps leading up to and within the cafe. If you are seeking courteous and efficient customer service, along with a pleasant atmosphere to enjoy your coffee or tea, DO LOOK ELSEWHERE. Because there is plenty of choice now in the suburban areas of Perth. And more importantly, they were serving to patrons who were NOT wearing facial masks during our present COVID lock-down due to community cross-infections. M - A concerned resident in Applecross

Great coffee but not great for breakfast during the week

I went to the Steam Lab on Sunday for something different, and was pleasantly surprises. I had the pulled pork with kimchi mayonaise and a coffee. Whilst being a bit expensive, the food and coffee were great and the location not what you would normally expect. Deciding to re-visit the cafe today for a repeat performance, only to find out that the normal breakfast/lunch menu was only Friday to Sunday. Something that they need to make a little clearer. Undeterred ordered a coffee (still great) and a pre-made bacon, cheese and egg roll ...... toasted. Unfortunately it came out barely toasted, cheese hadn't even looked like melting. Had it been properly toasted, it would have been different. Hence why the average rating. I will only rate something higher if there is consistency in all aspects of the visit, and unfortunately, this time there wasn't. But the coffee is fantastic!!!!

The real deal

Authentic, soulful and friendly. I'll be gutted if this place ever closes. Coffee and teas are superb and the owner is so happy on a daily basis to ply his craft. Go visit. You can thank me later!
