This winter we must admit that Cafe Ena slipped a bit. We walked here on a VERY COLD night, and the service was uncharacteristically inattentive. One couple seated after us actually walked out, after no one showed up at their table for FAR TOO LONG....More

So my partner and I showed up for our 8o'clock reservation on Valentine's Day after working a terribly hard week ( we own a flower shop!) and the entrance to Cafe Ena was jammed with folks who were waiting to be seated ( I'd say...More

The carne frita con mofongo at Cafe Ena has long been a favorite of mine. But today it was a disaster. The sauce was way too salty, and it totally drowned the paltry portion of mofongo. The pork "tenderloin" was gristly and tough (ever see...More

We have patronize Cafe Ena over the years and loved it. Unfortunately our experience earlier this week was very disappointing. The recent menu change has removed many of the classics and the new entrees simply have too much going on. My husband had the fillet...More

We visited Cafe Ena for dinner on a holiday evening. We entered a bustling, busy space, full of families celebrating, with a warm (on a cold evening) and friendly vibe. They call themselves "Latin fusion," and it's a phrase that fits. The food was wonderful...More

We met some friends for dinner on a weeknight. The restaurant was half full. Our server did a good job take my care of us. All of the dishes that we ordered, both appetizers and entrees, were good. The only problem that I had was...More

This was our third time at Ena. Obviously we had good experiences previously. Not sure what happened this time, but everything went down hill. It might be that the watchful eye of Hector the owner is now spread too thin between 4 restaurants, but whatever...More

This was my first dinner at Cafe Ena in many years and I can't believe it took me so long to get back there. My wife and I booked a table a few hours in advance and we are very glad we did. The decor...More

I've been to Cafe Ena six times and I have always been happy that I ate there. I love the guacamole, the sangria, and the Carne La Brava. My only dissapointment is that they have stopped offering flan. So, I get the creme brule instead....More

Description
Chef/Owner Hector Ruiz welcomes you to Cafe Ena: A cozy intimate restaurant located in the tangletown neighborhood in south Minneapolis. Chef Ruiz pares his classic French technique and South American palate to present an exciting menu of Latin-Fusion cuisine. Begin your meal with a south american style ceviche, shrimp, fish, scallops and shrimp in a aji sauce. The many entrees include, scallops, halibut, pork tenderloin, Argentinean style steaks finished in a savory chimichurri. The wine list focuses on a wide range of varietals from Central and South America. Weekly Wine Flights are a great opportunity to sample the many styles offered on the list. If wine is not your thing, perhaps you would enjoy one of the many cervesas, always served in a frosty mug with a lime.
