My family of 5, with kids 6, 8 and 10 stopped here en route to Courmayeur, and had a wonderful evening meal. The owner and his daughter were so warm and friendly and we were treated to such wonderful food. The main dish was a...meat and cheese platter served with freshly made breads, and we also had a tagliatelle bolognese which was so light and silky, it was almost a different dish.More

I went to Caino's Vineria more then a couple of times! Awesome selection of wines and great quality of food items! The menu is very simple and most of the times simple things work beautifully!!! Enjoy a great selection of salami and different meat based...affettati with the tigelle and the gnocchi fritti!!! Attilio the owner is an authentic food and wine lover and will guide you through a great meal!More

A friend of mine insisted to invite me to this place...! At first, it is not easy to find and you need to book ahead.. not just a few days or a week, at least a few weeks ahead... Than, you walk in this little...door in a simple building in the centre of a very small community in northwest Italy near Ivrea. IF you do not know it's there you will not find it.. The door states "Vineria e Prosciuteria" loosely translated Winery and Hamshop... You are immediately pleasantly surprised to walk into this basement/shop, it is very charming. The walls are covered in wine.. lot of it.. and of all quality and prices!!! There is only one menu item... Degustation of Hams and Tigelle (a sort of flat bread..) but you got a 20 plus pages of wine, all handwritten based on what they have available. ( I must have seen at least 4 cases of GAJA) See the picture to get a feeling of what you will be served!! The price is fixed and basically you get all you can eat.. extra are the drinks and wine... The family owned business, makes the staff (owners) very friendly and very knowledgeable about all the food and all their wine!!! WOW what a meal, we were not able to finish all the food and had to wait 30 minutes before we could get up.. we hate way too much!!! but.. it was soo good!!! and the wine... excellent..!! I highly recommend that if you are in the area or passing by, you take the time to stop over for a meal... but remember you need to book a few weeks in advanced... !!!More

The most amazing little place, with loads of charm, local hospitality, simple yet very tasty food and lovely wine. The owner is a happy guy, whom instantly seeks to make you welcome. A must visit for anyone. Very worth the drive.

We were in a group of 20 friends (I was the only non-Italian), and we're all disappointed with the 'so called meal' and the price of 35euro per person and not everybody was drinking wine. The owner kept cracking open bottles and said he would...charge reasonably by the glass. To our surprise at the end, we split the bill, with a consequence of 35euro per person. Yes ok the wine is good (not amazing) for the price. But... You are in Italy and both the quantity and quality of the meal was ridiculously average. In Italy, you live to eat, not starve and overpay. This zone is a second home to me and there are so many fantastic places to wine and dine... Having said that, my mother in law has been with friends more recently and she ate well and it was 15euro per person... And for her fussy self I have to believe it. So perhaps you can have a good experience. Unless it was paid for, I wouldn't return again.More
