Went for drink in beer garden as staying someplace else. Went back for food in evening.
Friendly and informative service and covid guidelines adhered to. Lady that served us our drinks outside was very efficient and guided us on times for eating and when we had to vacate, which was really appreciated.
The burgers were absolutely lush served in good time, piping hot and well presented.
My friend always has burgers when out myself very rarely as I'm not a huge fan, BUT I was so glad I had the Brazilian burger it's was delicious and juicy, my burger loving oal said hers was one of the best burgers she has ever had.
Thank you to all the staff for making our visit a very positive experience

A very wet and dismal day was brightened up by a lovely lunch at The Commercial.
We all had the Bonnie Prince Charlie Chicken (pan fried with an apple, Drambuie and cream sauce) which was VERY tasty as well as all three fantastic puddings (clotted cream rice pudding, double chocolate brownie and the rhubarb crumble). We'll definitely be back!

We have visited several times with various friends and have never been disappointed. The choice and quality of the food is excellent and the staff always make us welcome. We would recommend the Commercial to all lovers of good food professionally Cooked and presented, Thanks to all involved, we will be back very soon.

Came here for lunch on the way home from Crathie as it was getting to the end of lunchtime and was hungry. The decor was nice but the food was not particularly tasty unfortunately and I didn’t enjoy my meal much - I had the buttered chicken fillets with fries and garlic mayo but there was far too much batter, it was too greasy. Maybe a different dish would have been better but hard to say. The coleslaw had a lot of mayonnaise in it too. I’m not sure if I would return here unfortunately but perhaps a different dish would be tastier. I was also charged an extra pound from what was advertised on the menu for fries which I didn’t understand because the fries were meant to be included in the meal by the look of it.

We had dinner here last Monday for the first time. What a lovely cosy restaurant. The lady serving us was very nice and very busy as the only member of staff on in the restaurant. My husband had the steak pie and I had the roast rib of beef with all the trimmings and we both had the clotted cream rice pudding, all of which were delicious. We don't live near the hotel but would definitely visit again if we are in the area. Thank you 😊😊

Visited The Commercial today for lunch as a family of 6 as we were visiting my dad who lives in Tarland.
From start to finish the experience was exceptional.
The service is outstanding here and the food is perfection .
We had a prawn cocktail, soup of the day , gammon , black pudding dauphinoise, vegan stroganoff, sundaes, sticky toffee pudding , clotted cream rice pudding and vegan chocolate brownie. The vegan menu was a huge hit with my nephew as there was so much to choose from !
Staff can't do enough for you . So attentive . We were served by someone with a trainee badge on ( as well as others ) so unfortunately didn't get their name , but made us so welcome and looked after us the whole time we were there so thank you very much !
I recommend it to everyone and can't wait to visit my dad again so we can go back to The Commercial because it's a highlight of being in Tarland .

Superb meal. Fantastic menu choice - & the best choice for vegetarians ever. Food absolutely perfect - we mostly had different things & everyone enjoyed what they had. Lovely atmosphere- staff nice & most especially the head waitress who took our orders. All served up promptly, nicely presented & at a reasonable price. We were there for ages as we were enjoying ourselves so much & never felt in the way. Would highly recommend a visit & looking forward to returning soon. Thank you. 👍

Really nice FRESH food !!
I had the tomato and vegetable soup…. Proper rich flavoursome! Then the red Thai curry, I asked without coconut…. No problem !! Large portion, good flavour…. The chef obviously loves cooking !! Great service too !

My husband and I came into the bar for lunch and I was completely surprised at how delicious the food was. My husband is still talking about that delicious sticky toffee pudding. The lady who served us was very friendly. Really great food!

We visited the pub on Saturday evening for dinner and the food and service was perfect. I can honestly say the steak I had was the best I’ve ever tasted. My husband and daughter loved theirs too. The staff were helpful and friendly and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Highly recommended and we’ll definitely be back

We had a very pleasant visit to the Commercial while staying in Tarland for a couple of days. Firstly, it was great that we were allowed to bring our dog with us and sit with him in the bar area.
Food was good, service was fantastic, prices were reasonable. Will return.

Stopped in past without booking. Luckily got a table.
Food was great, choice was huge. Had the Sunday roast and loved every mouthful.
Staff were attentive, pleasant, helpful.
Great job to all. Husband wanted to marry chef it was so good.

We went for a Sunday roast and as usual it was wonderful. The roast beef rib was done to perfection. Limitless roasties and yorkies. Lovely service from Sasha, but a big thankyou to all the staff. We’re looking forward to our next visit already!!

Fantastic food. Best beef I’ve tasted in a long time. Everyone including two fussy kids thoroughly enjoyed. Spotlessly clean and a great covid setup. Totally recommend.

We stayed for a two night stay and had breakfast and dinner.
The room was lovely, spacious and very clean. Great tea making facilities with lots of choice. Coming to stay for a wedding we had lots of luggage and there was plenty space for all our belongings. The bathroom was clean and shower had good pressure and temperature, the robes were a lovely touch.
Good choice on the dinner menu and on a busy night the food was spot on. Again there was good choice on the breakfast menu and very tasty.
Staff were friendly and helpful, even posting forgotten items! Thank you!
