We were there only once during our stay in the Dordogne Valley, i.e. our last evening. But what a very nice restaurant. Both the lady as the waitress are really very friendly; Food was delicious. Quantities are more than OK. And important ; prices are...really reasonable. I ate already in restaurants all over the world, but this one is one to remember. Congratulations as well for the service as for the kitchen.More
Excellent, delicious well prepared food with polite and friendly service. The snail dish was a triumph. Our number one restaurant choice for birthdays and anniversary.
Had a lovely dinner with friends at this busy but efficient and competent restaurant. The food was perfect and the service the same. Would recommend highly.
We sat outside and enjoyed the festive music of the market square on a Friday evening, which was fun even if rather intrusive! We both had the filet de boeuf for our main course which was superb. I highly recommend this place especially on an...evening when the brass band is muted.More
A totally awesome restaurant, friendly service, excellent food, the beef melts in your mouth, although when we went, the flies were a problem, but all the same, relaxing atmosphere. Highly Recommended.
Following a beautiful lunch last year, we decided we would book for lunch for my partner’s birthday. We had the truffle menu, 7 courses for €75 and it was truly amazing. We chose the fish option which is surprisingly light, there is 7 courses after...all. Each course was a delight and there are no words to describe just how amazing the meal was. The service was as always, impeccable. If you want to have an amazing meal in a comfortable relaxed setting, then it doesn’t get much better than here. Thank you for a wonderful lunch and we will definitely be back again.More
We stumbled upon this restaurant quite by accident, on a Monday when most eateries close and this was a very happy accident to say the least! I rate Saveurs des Halles as one of the best food experience I ever had, from the warm and...efficient service, to delicious food, I cannot fault this place! Himself, had the 32 € menu, a veritable feast with two slices of the best foie gras ever ( I robbed one) followed by a duck pie( tourte) and a walnut dessert to die for (which I also plundered) . My choice went for the pig's trotter and truffle mash...OMG the truffle mash....actually everything was divine but the truffle mash was 7th heaven stuff! I am still swooning! I have one regret though, it was lunch time and we were driving - so no wine, especially hard to drink water with this marvel of a rocamadour they gave us :-( but we will be back!More
We chose the menu truffe. This was quite an experience. Very well prepared and with a very fine taste. Accompanied by a bottle of Mercurey, thus pinot noir! Very friendly staff.
We paused here one lunchtime and had a terrific time. The waiting staff were most polite and helpful, seating us outside, on the terrace/street. Our meals were taken from the menu's and most delighted we were, very highly presented and very good tasting fare. Most...recommended.More
I received a recommendation from a friend regarding this restaurant and I am pleased to say it is one of the best recommendations I have received. Thank you! Unfortunately I am are one of those Englishmen who never learnt to speak a foreign language and...despite my best intentions and efforts it seems it is easier for the French to speak to me in English and I am so grateful they do. It is not enjoyable walking into somewhere you might struggle to communicate effectively but at this restaurant I did not need to worry. The two ladies working front of house made us feel extremely welcome and made us feel right at home, offering us a choice of tables. We had booked and it was a good job because it didn’t take long for the restaurant to fill up and after eating there I can understand why. From the amuse bouche, through the delightful but decadent foie gras, duck and truffle terrine, the scallop ravioli into the filet of beef, the local goats cheese and the chocolate fondant with ice cream this was a meal of exceptional quality. The location, the food, the wine and the wonderful service ensured this was a night to remember. We hope to return!More
After a great victory into the FIFA soccer world cup, the dinner was perfect from fine meals (quality, ingredient choice) with good wine till a friendly-night verbena drink..😁 Special thought to a so nice, amazing and exciting franco-american citizen who perfectly welcomed me. We had dinner in a table in the street and it was a beautiful night. We chose the intermediate menu (euros38) and a very good wine. Food and attention were excellent.
We ate here twice while visiting the region. It is small and intimate with expert service provided by one petite woman. The menus were fairly priced for such quality and provided ample choices. We had a wonderful asparagus starter as well as foie gras, also...a fillet, daurade, lamb and duck, all served with lovely young vegetables. Desserts were also great with special kudos for the chocolate moelleux with creme. A terrific place in a charming village.More
One of our all time favorites. Worth while every visit. Good quality/price. Surprising possiblities. Good wine, even dry white cahors! We'll be back
