We ate a quick dinner here and had fun browsing the used books while waiting. They were very prepared for covid, with the staff wearing masks and tables spaced out and sanitized after you used them. I was unsure about ordering the smoked whitefish salad, so the server gave me a sample of smoked fish to taste - it was delicious and the salad was perhaps the best meal I ate on this trip.

Even tho the restaurant was full of customers the clerk was friendly when taking our orders. The coffee, I had the Michigan Cherry, was fresh & delicious. Enjoyed my breakfast in the book store and the librarian, if that's what Evie's title is, was so pleasant and helpful. For less than $10 I was able to get my coffee fix, eat a hearty breakfast & enjoy good company.

My husband and I moseyed in for lunch and a cinnamon roll and wound up spending a cozy two hours reading and enjoying the ambiance. The generous bowl of tortilla soup was delicious and my hubby enjoyed a warm cinnamon roll and delicious cup of coffee. Being surrounded by books new and seasoned was akin to being hugged by old friends. I am soooo excited to read the two books purchased which revolve around Upper Peninsula tradition! Highly recommend you experience this quaint and special spot.

This cafe is very busy and one of the few that serves food in the morning pre-hike, so we were happy to wait in line to get in. Unfortunately, the service was awful - the cashier was very rude. When we asked if bagels would be the same 30 minute wait as hot food, she just pointed at the 30 minute sign. We got drip coffee and were put in wait after the espresso drinks and then tasted coffee that was so watered down. Would instead recommend gallery coffee for their service and coffee or driftwood cafe for their service and morning to go food.

Under previous ownership, this was a great, clean quality operation. Our family (grandparents, two children and our seven grandchildren) have been very happy and satisfied customers for almost twenty years. We spend our summers in Munising and formerly went to Falling Rock at least once per week. A lot has changed and we have been very disappointed with the new ownership. Prices have gone through the roof and attention to customer service and cleanliness of ice cream scooping have gone through the floor. They still serve great Jilbert’s ice cream but we won’t be buying anything in a cone again! Attention to sanitation today was a disaster!

We loved this place and came back several times while we were in the area. They have great sandwiches, hand dipped ice cream (including some options that seemed local - try the “Cowpuccino!!), pastries, and coffee/espresso drinks. We loved the atmosphere of the place, and the staff was super friendly. I’d highly recommend it!

Nice little food and gift shop downtown. We appreciated that it was open after 6. It’s hard to see the bookstore/gift section, but it is accessible by walking past the food counters. They offer coffee, ice cream, and light food options, including salad. Definitely worth stopping in, especially if there’s a long wait at other restaurants.

We were looking for a place in Munising that makes their own ice cream, but decided to try this after hearing that they serve Jilbert's, which is a creamery in Marquette. My husband got peanut butter Mackinac Island fudge, my daughter got regular Mackinac Island fudge, and I got amaretto cherry Mackinac Island fudge. We're ice cream snobs, and we all thought it was super delicious. I also loved the store. This place invites you to linger. They have a large and eclectic array of used books that I had fun browsing while eating my ice cream. They also had fun stuff from local artisans. We will definitely be stopping here again.

On our way to kayak Lake Superior we stopped at Falling Rock for coffee and breakfast. We were 15 minutes early before they opened. Standing patiently in to doorway waiting and smelling the delicious coffee made our anticipation grow! 5 minutes before their open time of 8am they graciously allowed us in and order. Truly they know how to deliver GREAT service and delicious coffee to go!

The cafe is situated within a bookstore...the shelves are full of new and older books that can be read from during the meal. The range of menu choices was sufficient, the portion sizes might be a little small for those with big appetites. The food quality and value were a little better than average. The servers weren't especially attentive, but were friendly and helpful enough. Overall, an enjoyable experience.

We stopped for coffee a couple of times, as well as dessert. The brownies are divine, and the coffee is excellent. The place has a really cute decor. I would probably rate it five stars if we were not in the midst of a pandemic. While staff made sure everyone wore masks, there was little concern for social distancing. People crowded around the spot for ordering coffee and food with little concern for others, and staff seemed oblivious. Definitely worth a stop for coffee, though, if you can keep your distance from other patrons.

This bookstore - cafe has a very unique, down home welcoming feel and has a range of selections… ice cream, coffee, breakfasts, lunch items. We visited in mid October when many places in town were closed for off season, so we’re pleased we found someplace for coffee and breakfast. We ordered lattes and breakfast sandwiches. The coffee was good - not as hot as I prefer my lattes, but flavorful and smooth (pistachio oat milk latte). The breakfast sandwiches were good - lots of scrambled egg and bacon on the bagel and on the croissant which was very flaky. Service was fine. Prices did seem high compared to what we typically find for similar items. Our total cost (with a small tip added) was at $50 for two lattes and two breakfast sandwiches (bacon, egg, American cheese - one on a bagel, one on a croissant).

The three ladies who run this place are the sweetest! I ordered a garden salad with turkey and my husband had a cup of potato soup (homemade) and a grilled cheese. They have good coffee and ice cream too. We definitely will come back! Charming.

My husband and I stopped here for a to-go breakfast sandwich on our way north to Copper Harbor. I read the menu and went for the sausage breakfast croissant and he went for the bacon one. O. M. Gosh...... I totally missed the 3 egg part when I looked at the menu. This sandwich is HUGE and worth every penny. The croissant if flaky and buttery and the eggs are all cheesy and perfectly cooked. My only complaint is that I could have used more sausage to keep up with the amount of egg. But this is totally a MUST HAVE when you're in Munising. If you're not super hungry you could totally split one. My husband and I both had about a quarter of each of ours left.

Great coffee and breakfast sandwiches. We always stop here when in town. It never disappoints. Everything is made to order so there can be a line during busy times, but so worth the wait. Our coffee was expertly made and the sandwiches were stuffed full. It was a great start to the day. All Covid protections respectfully in place
