Updated with very charming clean yet up north feel decor. Staff was immediately attentive, friendly and helpful. We have been at establishments with recent covid impacts such as short staff and limited menu. There was none of this whatsoever, staff was adequate without and limitations on the menu. Tables were spaced out with plenty of room to adhere to covid requirements. Most important the food was incredible!!! By far the best meal we have had in the UP in a long time. The sweet potato fries were outstanding. I’m limited to some food allergies, the cook and staff didn’t miss a beat and accommodated my needs very well. I wouldn’t hesitate to eat here EVERY time we visit.

Celebrate with food!

We we’re staying in Indian Lake for a fishing trip with friends. Decided to go to big Springs Inn for an anniversary dinner. The staff was friendly and the food was great! The atmosphere was awesome. There were six of us and we tried the perch the white fish and the black and blue burger and everyone enjoyed them. First time we all tried garlic Parmesan fries yummy!

Great food - totally worth the stop! Totally recommend!

Great service, little slow and at end of August. Can seat couples and families. Busiest time of year is winter. Food had more taste than I’ve had in ages.

excellent restaurant/bar setting

Very nice hosts and very good food even when extremely busy with state park right next door. Plenty of seating indoors and out, pool table, clean bathrooms and pleasant setting.

We loved our meal. The service was wonderful and the prices were right. Very near PalmsBook Kitchi-ti-kipi. This place is worth the quick detour up from highway!

Not Impressed

We stopped here for lunch last month after visiting the Big Spring. The restaurant wasn't busy, and at the time of our visit only half of the restaurant was being utilized. We ordered our food, and waited, and waited (the couple next to us that arrived after us, got their drinks and food before us). There were four of us in our party, none of us ordered anything difficult and it wasn't busy in the restaurant. It took close to 40 minutes before we got our food. The waitstaff never gave us any update as to why it was taking so long. I ordered sweet potato fries with my sandwich but was given regular fries. When I said something, I was told they were out - would have been nice to know before I got my order. Not sure if its normal, but the fries had so much seasoning on them we couldn't finish them. I don't know what was going on that day, but this was poor service. Hopefully this isn't the norm, but we definitely wouldn't visit if we were ever in the area again.

Great food

We had mushrooms, cheese curds and onion rings for appetizers and they were well prepared. Joey our waiter suggested we order quickly as he has a very large party in the other room so we did we had a burger with sausage that was huge and good, a hamburger with sweet potato fries(very good), and a burger with pulled pork, and macaroni and cheese in it. We enjoyed all of it and had a lot to take home. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Off the beaten Path

Was very hard to find I suggest some road signs. and by the way all fish walleye perch, whitefish is FRESH the Walleye was great & my wife's Reuben Sandwich was wildly heralded by her. Service was great the whole staff kicks in to make sure everyone is taken care of!!

The on-tap beer selection here is top-notch. The food is very good too -- this is not just a bar. Service is very friendly and attentive but tends to be slooow, especially if you get the wrong server. If you are in a hurry, this might not be your first choice, but if you've got time for a good meal and a great pint of beer, this is the place for you.

Great lunch!

My sister and I had a delicious lunch here today!. She had the olive burger and said it was cooked perfectly. She loved it. I had the fish tacos and they were fabulous. Our waitress/bartender was fantastic!

Awesome Burgers!

Very friendly bartender who let us sample a few different beers with also a great beer recommendation. We had the spinach dip for an appetizer and it was the best I’ve ever had. DH and I both had burgers, his with onion rings and mine with their AWESOME sweet potato fries with a brown sugar butter dipping sauce. To die for! As we were leaving two gentlemen near us were served their Saturday night prime rib special. Had we not been so full, we would have sat back down and ordered it! It looked heavenly!

Superb food!

A tad bit out of the way but definitely worth the short drive, the beverage selection was amazing and the food delicious! Not sure we ever had better burgers anywhere! We certainly will visit this “treasure” next trip to Manistique.
