I absolutely love this place. Visited twice this past September. No one but no one makes an Egg sandwich like Cafe Chew, it’s just soooo good. Been coming here for the past 5 years and will not miss. Thanks to the two nice owners for...their consistency. See you in the Spring.More

We ate here several times during our stay in Sandwich. Great food, great prices and great service set in an adorable little hedge enclosed outdoor space. Definitely will come here again and again while visiting this area.

Great sandwiches in Sandwich! We had the Turkey gobbler Thanksgiving left-over type sandwich on a cranberry nut bread, the Turkey was thick sliced and served warm with stuffing- a perfect sandwich even on a sunny summer day. Indoor/outdoor seating and lots to choose from on...the menu. The kids had plain grilled cheese or tuna fish, the adults a Nordic salmon & caper connection. Great place for a quick bite, to sit in, or to go.More

Great place to grab a great sandwich, salad or soup to-go or eat in for casual lunch. Has drinks and a bakery as well! Conveniently located if you’re in Sandwich, MA.

The FBIL and I were on the way home to S Yarmouth after a procedure at the OCB when he suggested we go to the Cafe Chew for breakfast. It is located just off of Route 6A and I suggest using the GPS to ensure...that you find it, but it is right near the Post Office. They have ample parking in the area and outdoor dining both front and back of the building with umbrellas on all the tables. Find a place to sit, and hen get a menu and head to the counter to order your food from one of two kiosks. They will give you your beverages to take back to your table and then they will bring out your food selections. The menu has a nice variety of selections and combinations. The bakery case is also very enticing. FBIL ordered the Chew TWO and I ordered the salmon platter. WE maybe had a few sips of our coffees when the food was delivered to our table. Both selections looked very tempting and they were. His was regs with pancakes and sausage. Mine was the salmon platter. The salmon was a generous serving and the bagel was fresh and lightly toasted. The coffees were also very flavorful. There is also ample seating inside where we met and spoke with Lady Di (I am a big fan by the way) on the way out. Next time i bring the wife fishing at the canal I will be sure to keep the option open for coming here for some tasty treats to go with the fish we didn't catch.More

It was my second visit, it was busy the first time but not the second, I just missed the crowd. the first time I got it to go and sat outside and ate, second I got it to eat there. There were a lot of...young men running the orders out but they chatted with each other a bit too long. I hadn't gotten a table yet so when my order came out the young man went outside and called my name. I went out behind him and told him it was mine. I got a table and he put it down for me and asked if anyone had told me they bring it out, I told him no one had informed me of that. he told me next time get a table and they will bring it out. Information was great but his attitude wasn't. I will probably go back but get my order to go.More

The food is good if you don't mind eating out of cardboard box. You can go to McDonalds and eat out of a cardboard box for about half the money.

Was a bit skeptical about some of the reviews that portrayed the staff as rude. They were quite the opposite: extremely friendly and helpful. And we were there at a very busy time: Sunday mid-morning. Food was very good. Service excellent & quick. Baked goods...looked fantastic. We had breakfast sandwiches. Plenty of parking.More

I was working in the area and wanted a quick breakfast sandwich and coffee. I called to order my food as I was getting in my truck to drive to the restaurant. I didn’t take the time to look at a menu since I was...driving, but I knew what I wanted. A man answered the phone and was very curt with me right off the rip. Understanding he was busy I let him know that I would like to order a sandwich to be picked up. He asked what name I would like to place the name under. I replied “John.” He answered sharply, “I have a ton of Johns! Johns a common name! What is the first initial of your last name?” I answered, “S.” “R?”, he questioned. “No. S.”, I said. “R??”, again he shouted at me. I replied louder and as clearly as I could, “S!” He then asked what I would like to order. I answered that, “I would like a ham, egg, and cheese sandwich on a bagel, please.” He almost growled are me snottily, “So you want a German!” I replied, “Ok. A German then, if that’s what you call it.” The call was ended shortly thereafter. Upon arriving I saw a decent line formed up outside, but from experience I knew that I could pass the line and let the cashier know that I ordered ahead and they would ring me up and send me on my way with my food. Of course waking past the line always gets you a few dirty looks, but I understand that they are just assuming that I don’t know what I’m doing and that I will get turned around and sent to the end of the line. As soon as I entered I was met by the gentleman who I talked to on the phone. He pointed to the end of the line and said, “The end of the line is over there.” I explained that I had ordered ahead and just need to pay and grab my food to go. He told me to go stand off to the side of the cash register and asked my name. I told him “John S.” He shouted to the cashier that “John R” was here. I responded, “I’m John S.” He shouted again, “John R.” I just laughed and stepped over to the cashier to pay. After I left I opened my sandwich to find that the German isn’t on a bagel like I asked for. It was on a pretzel bun. No big deal really, but I did want a bagel. If he had been more willing to listen to what I was asking for, rather than tell me who I am and what I wanted, maybe he would’ve got something right. Food was decent but not worth the attitude.More

Had breakfast there this morning and was looking foward to an enjoyable meal. Woman behind counter was very rude and actually had a scowl on her face. She rushed us thru our orders even though we had looked online first and knew what we were...having. All it took was one question and she looked at us like we were dirt. I had a egg sandwich which was good but when I picked up the second half there was a hair in the plate. Sorry but ugh. Husband ordered the #2 and It was ok. Will not be returning.More

We went on a Wednesday at noon and the place was packed, with a long line of people outside. The line should not deter anyone, it moves really fast. The sandwiches were really good, and the summer salad was amazing.

Went locally to see Heritage Museum and Gardens, and got hungry. Just a few minutes away, someone at the Gardens recommended this place and glad they did. Nice atmosphere, good selections, and leave room for dessert. To me a must stop in the area.

The food is great. The location is cute. I have had a house in dennis since 1990. My friend grew up there. We walked into this cafe. He has long hair and a beard. I have an eyebrow ring. These people totally stopped and stared....The manager questioned us on where we were from. He gave me my pastry upside down. The guy serving us is named TOBIN. He also doesn't put the plate down, he drops it in front of me. They "forgot" my espresso until we were about to leave, at which point TOBIN hand delivers it with attitude. I understand that we weren't wearing flip flops and tourist gear, this man straight didn't believe I'M FROM THE CAPE. It's 2021. I have never been profiled and treated SO BADLY in my life. I don't want to even imagine how this yuppy, prejudice place would treat people of ethnicity. TOBIN announced my friend's name on his credit card super loud. clearly believing it wasn't his. The whole time we were eating, they stared at us. Not one customer was friendly either. If you don't wear vinyard vines and flip flops, don't go here. If you have piercings, tattoos, or don't look like a "cape codian" don't go here. If you care about being respected and not judged- don't go here. This was the most prejudicial experience I've had in my adult years. Truly astounded. HORRIBLE staff.More

Nestled in a quaint little strip of shops off the Main road, Cafe Chew serves breakfast with high quality ingredients which makes it completely yummy. These are the best buttermilk pancakes I’ve had in a long time. The decor is relaxed, old farmhouse style. The...service is friendly and uncomplicated. And they play classical music for breakfast. Ahhh no country. (Sorry country fans) There are two outside seating areas, well distanced tables. It’s worth the trip.More
