We went out to celebrate my brother's 35th wedding anniversary. I picked the restaurant, having been there a few times with good results. It was good getting out of the rain into the warm, inviting ambience of the restaurant. You are ushered in by the music from the live group, left of the entrance, that appears to always be there. The controlled volume complements, rather than rankle, during the meal. I was directed, past the radiation from the first fireplace, to be seated near the next one. My party had not yet arrived and my lead server (they work in teams) stopped by to ensure I was comfortable while I waited. My party arrived and we ordered after a well articulated rendition by our waiter. We ordered the Danish Barbecue Pork Ribs, Prime Rib, Wood Fired Rotisserie Chicken (as a sub for the ribeye they just ran out of), and the Crab Benedict. We shared the Banana Nut French Toast to start (shared because, unfortunately, one still has to fight the battle of the bulge). It was great - I had thought it was something else I had eaten before which is why I suggested it. The rotisserie chicken was the way I like rotisserie chicken (or any other meat at that) - seasoned but not so much I can't taste the meat. The chops (yes, I tried to taste everything, maybe not at the seating) was, indeed, fall of the bone and also very tasty. The Crab Benedict, I did not sample but take it from the one who ate it that it was great. The Prime Rib, was, of course, prime rib - tender, seasoned and well cooked to order. After they brought the check, I casually mentioned the anniversary to the waiter who then asked us whether to arrange a desert. That dessert was the Bread Pudding which turned out to be the item I thought I was getting as the appetizer before. If you ever visit the Stanford Grill, make sure you try it. I would not eat it every day as I suspect it packs a caloric punch but once in a blue moon gives you my permission to indulge. All in all, as someone who normally eats at several restaurants on a weekly basis, I will highly recommend the Stanford Grill.

Second time there this evening with my family, after having had lunch there last week with my youngest son. Lunch was excellent; I had the trout almondine, which, unbelievably, tasted just like my Mother's recipe. This evening, my wife had the trout, my daughter had the salmon, and my son and I had the prime rib. First, the wild rice and onion soup was fantastic, and the entrees were better than that. The prime rib was moist and juicy, needing very little of the side au jus, and the broccolini and grilled zucchini were both delicious and hearty. The seafood dishes were also top-notch, firm and flaky to perfection. To top it off, the desserts were oversized and delicious, and the wait staff were very attentive and worked together very well. Just a wonderful meal at a moderate price. We will definitely be coming back.

It's been a few years since we dined here and I came with 3 colleagues this time for a business dinner, no wifey! We made reservations ahead of time and got seated right away on a Wednesday night. Still very busy with a function in the sunroom. The Calamari ($14) was delicious as was the Spinach Artichoke Dip ($15). My Wood-Fired Rotisserie Chicken was as good as I remembered with Mash Potatoes and Green Beans ($20). Friendly and knowledgeable server and lots of free on-site parking. Time to bring the wife back!

I have eaten at this restaurant at least 10 times because it is consistently satisfying. My visit last night however, was less than the norm and hopefully an anomaly. upon reflection I should have noticed the rotisserie was turned off and empty, and NOT ordered my staple their wood fired rotisserie chicken which is normally cooked to perfection. My dish was cold, the fries were cold and waiter seemed rushed and indifferent. I can think of no plausible excuse for this, as they have dishes that use said chicken in their dishes on subsequent days. Salads, a glorious chicken potpie, chicken fingers. I can look past the 20 minutes in took to get a draft beer, and the nonsensical excuse of the bar is swamped. (2 patrons in the bar area, 3 bartenders). what I cannot get passed is that a restaurant that is riding high, let its guard down.

We haven’t been here for a while and decided to visit after the pandemic close down. They have an outdoor dining and a patio area, which is great. The ambiance is nice, providing a relaxing mood. We visited on 8/31 @ ~1430 hours, table for 5 in the patio. We are Woodfire Club members. It started out well, having a great conversation with family members whom we haven’t seen for a while. My daughter and I finished our mixed drinks and asked our waitress to provide another set. However, 15 minutes later it has still not arrived. My wife and I tried to wave our waitress over but seemed to ignore us (cunningly) – there was just no way that our signaling would’ve been missed. Minutes later she went to other tables first besides our waving again before arriving at our table. After about 5–7 minutes, I stood up to order our drinks directly with the bartender. I saw that the bar was empty and not much inside diners either. Thus, it was very improbable that the delay was due to a high demand for drinks. I asked the bartender for the Stanford 75 when our waitress at the side of the bar noted she had the drinks and was on her way. I shook my head in disappointment, but said, “Thanks.” My family members mentioned how slow the service was there. The disruption and distraction impacted what would’ve been a perfect reunion. I still gave a respectable tip for the rest of what Stanford Grill had to offer (ambiance, chef, Maitre d’, greeters, other servers, etc.).

We visited the restaurant for lunch right after a long hike. We were seated outside the main room of the restaurant, it felt like a sun room. Nice ambiance, maybe a little too noisy (the music could really play at a lower volume). It was a pleasant experience and everyone in our party enjoyed their food. I ordered Wood-Fired Rotisserie Chicken and I got half a chicken (!) with mashed potatoes and green beans. Beautifully seasoned. I would say that there were not enough potatoes and beans for the amount of chicken. We also ordered bread pudding, which was very tasty and big enough to feed all of us and take some home.

Bad review comes from having to pay an extra $6 for a green vegetable to accompany 16 oz prime rib. Comes with mashed potatoes but that's all. Seems to be an inconvenience to ask for butter or a glass of water, especially not for more of a certain brand of sugar free sweetener. For that price - $36 for the entree - it should come with more than one side. Cheap. Other reviewers say the same. Also, prime rib came with lots of fat that filled up a small plate. Lastly, not conducive to table conversation. Muzak is very loud, though nice jazz, but very loud jazz. Apparently I spoke when our server was speaking. She stopped what she was doing and stared. Felt I needed to apologize for interrupting her. She did this several times and was clearly annoyed when I asked about our dessert order when she was talking about coffee. She questioned why I'd ask for butter with my potato when it already had some in it. Also told us cilantro tastes like soap. About $100 with tip, one dessert, two meals. 50 percent capacity but lots of empty booths. Hostess said we could wait if we wanted a booth. There are other nice restaurants in Columbia. Will not be returning.

We had the salmon, ribs and tenderloin...all were excellent for takeout. Plenty of food, we even had some left overs. Spices were right on! Most important, the pickup was very organized...the best that I have experienced. Other restaurants need to take a cue from Stanford Grill

Loved the atmosphere, food, and service Dimly lit and, for the most part, you are separated out into little cubicles, so it feels like you have a little private corner of the restaurant. I think I even saw a fireplace there. Nice, comfortable, contemporary design. Food was awesome. Good quality. I got the impossible burger (or was it beyond beef?). Service was quick and friendly. A great restaurant that I think back to every once in a while. And a great place to take a date.

The patrons were seated well spaced from each other (parties) so I felt safe. We were seated in the "second" room, off the "main" one with booths, where a large fireplace is, on a tableclothed table. Server Al (Alvaro) afforded us excellent service--friendly, and perfect timing between his visits to demonstrate good attention as well as a relaxed time. All our dishes were excellent: cornbread (with jalapeno in it), Denmark barbecue ribs (so soft!), and the scallops special (perfect sear yet so soft and well-flavored).

No complaints about the food. No complaints about the service. My whining is about the dark ambiance. My family and I have been coming to Stanford Grill for years until the pandemic hit. It may have been almost two years since we last came and so I was very excited to invite 3 of my friends to celebrate my birthday. I requested patio seating and we were promptly seated at the designated time. That's when I realized my mistake. While I have expected dark dining [where the customers hardly see the food they are eating in order to enhance the other senses and increase gastronomic pleasure], the patio is DARK. My friends and I (in our early 50s) see the other customers and each other in silhouettes. When the nice waitress asked if we have looked at the menu, my husband responded "yes, we looked but we can not see." Our eyes adjusted after a while, but see, lighting sets the tone and mood of the experience. Light begets light, dark begets darkness. I felt like while a had a good time with my friends, it was strained because we can hardly see each other's faces. Unless Stanford Grill invests in some good lighting, I may not come back. Would I recommend this place, sure! If you're having an illicit affair, this is a place where you can comfortably eat and not fear being seen.

Thank you for your valuable feedback and for bringing this lapse to our attention. We will look into the outdoor lighting situation to see if there is anything we can do to enhance the dining experience for all of our valued guests. We do hope to have you back soon!

I placed a large order today thru GrubHub. Was very happy with the speed of the delivery. I called the restaurant today to complain that the cornbread was not at all as advertised. It was supposed to contain jalapenos and serrano peppers. What we got was as bland as bland could be...not a single pepper in it. The girl who spoke to me said that the bread is made in batches and some servings might have more or less pepper. We don't like bland food. I certainly would not have paid $7 for this stuff. No offer to remove the item from my credit card charge or make amends in any way. Won't be going back.

Normally we've had no issues with the restaurant but on Valentine's day for dinner, our order was cancelled by Stanford Grill. I called at 2:30 to make sure we could order online and the girl there said it was no problem. We ordered at 2:35PM. 2:35PM for a 7:15PM delivery! Nearly 5 hours ahead of time! At 7:27PM Stanford Grill cancelled our order!! At that point on Valentine's we can't get dinner from any other decent place. Our Valentine's dinner that we specially ordered from Stanford. You can't just cancel orders. If you can't handle the order, you should have never taken the order. And now I'm unlikely to ever order again from them. Don't risk a special night with Stanford as they just cancel your order without warning and at the last minute. This is how this branch treats their customers and obviously can't handle the business. It's not worth the risk and aggravation and upset wife. Plenty of other places to choose that will not cancel your order.

Since COVID, we order delivery quite often now. I have to say this is one of the most safely packaged deliveries I’ve received. Each entree was taped to ensure no tampering, even the appetizer container. Food was excellent as usual, and was still hot upon delivery. Nice job Stanford!!

Just Fix a Lil . Food tasted amazing. I had Rainbow Trout which was delicious . Very nice salads . APPETIZERS cold chicken meat balls :( The staff brought out the appetizer salads and then forgot the last appetizer brought out during dinner. Also during dinner apparently they tried to drop off Key Lime to our table.
