Great Sage is my favorite restaurant and I've been to all kinds of restaurants over many years. When I got the Hearts of Palm Crab Cake Platter on Saturday along with the Tart Cherry Crumble as curbside takeaway, the Hearts of Palm Crab Cake was...deliciously tasty to this native Marylander who knows what a very good Maryland crab cake tastes like. Great Sage's Hearts of Palm Crab Cake looked like a crab cake, smelled like a crab cake and tasted even better than a crab cake to me. I'm impressed by what a very good chef can do. The Tart Cherry Crumble, with lots of cherries, hit just the right comfort food spot for me. In this challenging time of social distancing, the nice person who took our order we called ahead to place, and who put it in the trunk of our car (I recognized the woman's voice as belonging to the one who took our order), was outstanding, friendly and very helpful.More
Thank you for supporting our carry out and curbside options, it means the world to us to feel so much love from our guests during these challenging times. Being able to remain open while making the proper accommodations necessary to provide food to our amazing...More
This was so delicious! I brought home dinner for my non-vegan family and it was a hit. Even as takeout it was warm and fresh. I would absolutely go here again and I look forward to when we can dine in :).
Thanks so much for supporting us, our guests warm our hearts and there is nothing we love more than providing the community with delicious and healthy vegan food! See you soon!
We used to love this place, and still go here, but each time lately has been pretty disappointing. The food is good, they just seem to be cutting costs. We went a couple months ago and the main salad one of my daughters used to...love was literally half the size it used to be. Someone else in our party recently ordered a lava cake and not only was the serving much smaller than before but there was no 'lava' in it at all! In short, decent food - and great that it's vegan - but we have definitely seen the quality decline in the last year or so. Hopefully that will change.More
My favorite dish was the buffalo bites and the cbd hot chocolate. Yummy. The service was good. Ronald who worked there wearing many hats while we visited often was a joyful person and very attentive. He should have been made a full fledged server because...he was perfect for the job.More
We live about 45 minutes away but we make the trek to Great Sage quite a bit. We always get sooooo full. It's a little on the pricey end, $80-$100 for two people, but it's worth it. Everything is vegan and the menu changes seasonally....They have brunch, and you can eat outside. We always get an order of the chocolate lava cake for dessert, it's amazing. Great Sage is in the "Conscious Corner", Clarksville Square, which is a shopping center that includes a Roots Market (natural foods with a lot of great vegan items in their deli and throughout the store) and Nest, a little gift shop with natural fiber clothes, some books, incense, candles, water bottles and other home items. I think there's a natural pet shop there as well. If you have to wait for a table or before or after your meal, it's really nice to browse around. That's a big plus. If you're vegan and in the area, absolutely go. It's a treat.More
Thank you so much for this wonderful review and for visiting Conscious Corner! We love being a place where you can grab a delicious vegan lunch or dinner, find some eco-friendly & locally made items at Nest (so many to choose from!) and discover new...More
We truly enjoyed the ambiance of this restaurant. Even non vegans can get a good meal from the specially created menu. The cabbage salad was my favorite. Full of aromas and wonderfully spiced dressing. Bean soup was extraordinary. They were great to let us have...side order of the vegan cheese sauce with steamed broccoli. Very smooth and cheese sauce. Would go back again. Next to the restaurant there is a vegan bakery and a healthy organic grocery store. Miniature version of Whole Foods with lots of local produce and art. Loved that corner of Maryland. They are calling it “conscious corner”.More
When you hear a restaurant is vegan you tend to think boring and bland non exciting food. Well that is simply WRONG!!!! The food at Great Sage is unbelievable and the menu is extensive and interesting. Bourban Street Burger(jackfruit) amazing! Nachos in house made cheddar...cheese (vegan) amazing! Lava Cake coconut ice cream amazing ! The restaurant was packed, service was very friendly and courteous. The manager (owner?) was running around greeting diners and clearing tables. Great vibe Be adventurous and try vegan!More

Today for the first time we went to this restaurant as per suggestion by my son. We drove all the way from west Montgomery county ( About 50 min drive) to this restaurant and we were glad that we went here. Food options on the...menu are not too many, however they had a note on the menu that they will accommodate some additional requests. Entire menu is with plant based ingredients. We ordered Crab cake ( cake is made of artichoke) platter, Mexican quesadilla and for dessert vanilla cake with strawberry with 3 plant based milk sauce and coconut whipped cream. All the items were delicious We will recommend this for any vegan loving person and for non-vegetarian it will be worth experimenting and checking out how good vegan food can be.More
Although the prices are a bit steep, the atmosphere is lovely and the service is usually good. The food is never disappointing and always creative and delicious. I will return again and again as I have for years.
Overall the food was delicious and the atmosphere, though a tad on the noisy side, was fun. They are getting a one star review from me though because this place is NOT SAFE FOR THOSE WHO ARE GLUTEN FREE. Usually we prefer vegan restaurants for...my allergy-child because they automatically do not have a lot of his allergens and are very careful with their gluten free options. We ordered a gluten free sandwich for my child on our first (and last) visit to this place. When we were about half way through it we noticed a few red marks around his mouth such as he gets when he is exposed to one of his food allergens. I thought maybe it was just a little cross contamination from a knife or something but wanted to make sure so I stopped our waitress and asked her if his sandwich was on the gluten free bread. She looked at the bread and said "I'll be right back I don't know" and walked away. Someone else then came over and we had basically the same encounter. Finally the manager/owner (not sure but he seemed to be the one in charge) came over and said he heard we had a question about the food. I said I was just wondering if that was gluten-free bread and he snootily responded "You have to request Gluten Free". I replied that we did. He then replied with "Well. Then it is Gluten Free!" I said I was just checking because my child was reacting to something and we needed to figure out what it was. He said it was impossible to tell the difference between the gluten free bread and the regular wheat bread once it was toasted (AN OUTRIGHT LIE) but if we asked for gluten free then it was gluten free. He came back a few minutes later and took the sandwich and said "we'll make him a new one since we can't tell." When they eventually brought a new one out it was PLAINLY OBVIOUS this bread was completely different. It was a smaller slice, a different crust, different color, etc. I have no idea why they said they couldn't tell the difference other than to try to cover up their mistake-NOT COOL. Own up to it, people! The only thing besides bringing out another one (by this time we were leaving) was to give us one of our cookies for free. Turns out my child ended up having a full-blown allergic reaction and ending up needing his EpiPen and a trip to the ER. I understand that mistakes can be made and we take that risk when we eat out but it would have been so much better and we could have dealt with it faster if they had worked with us instead of making it a 10--20 minute process to figure out what our child was reacting to. It is for that reason I am giving them a negative review-to let other people with food allergies and those who may have celiacs, etc know that this may not be a safe place for you to eat.More
The cons: can’t get lunch on Sunday until after 3, closed Mondays, a lot of processed meat. The pro; all organic and vegan. Good wait staff.More

I took my wife Great Sage for dinner. It was really excellent. The autumn salad was crisp and fresh. It was big enough that I split the side salad size with my wife and we both had enough. My entree was the Thanksgiving entree with...a Seitan loaf. The favor was so good with a wonderful gravy. The mashed sweet potatoes were also great.More
Thanks for the review! We are wrapping up our winter menu now and look forward to sharing our spring menu with you on April 9th, plenty of creative dishes with seasonal flavors to choose from! Hope to see you soon!
