As a long-time patron and ardent evangelist of Beans in the Belfrey, I was shocked to find anything other than 5-star reviews in this page, so I had weigh in. My family of 7 (5 young kids) frequent BnB in the weekend, driving 45 minutes...from Northern VA because, simply put, it’s worth the trip. The atmosphere is completely unique. This church-turned-cafe/lounge/restaurant is beautiful, peaceful, warm… I’ll try to limit the superlatives lest this become a sermon (pun intended). The flexible seating and belfrey access is perfect for families with younger kids who want to enjoy great food without being confined to a 3x5 table for an hour. Speaking of the food, it’s really good - the coffees too (we prefer the mocha and iced latte). Without exaggeration, the words “Mmm,” “so good,” and “yum” are invoked numerous times throughout the meal. Have you ever seen the dinner seen from the movie What About Bob? It’s like that. I’ve tried to find other, closer places to visit. In fact, that’s what I was doing when I came upon this page, and paused to write this review. But as far as I can tell there aren’t “other places” like BnB around here (the Ace Hotel cafe in NYC is comparable), so that’s where I’ll be going when I finish this review. The breakfast croissant is calling to me. PS - Everything is good, but I recommend the… - Bacon, egg, and cheese croissant - Biscuit and gravy - Oatmeal (somehow it’s better than normal oatmeal) - Coffee cake - Muffins (warmed up) - Hot mocha - Iced vanilla latteMore

Beans in the Belfry is one of my favorite places to study as a college student! Located in a town with lots of history, BitB also boasts excellent customer service, atmosphere, and decor.

I used to love this place! What happened? We went for lunch but were very disappointed. The lattes were lukewarm. My quiche was not only less than lukewarm, but also without taste. My husband’s chile was OK, but no bread came with it. The staff...were very disengaged, didn’t seem like they wanted to be there.More

The good: we loved the atmosphere and décor; it really was amazing. Someone put a lot of work into creating this space. The food was as good as a sandwich can be. Be aware that a "12-ounce latte" on the menu is not a latte,...it is a cappuccino, and there is only 6 ounces of beverage in the cup. The not-so-good: Upon entering, there is no way to know what to do. No one is at the door, no signs to tell you to go get in the line. (We were a bit confused as we are not local.) You are trusted to bus your own table. We had to clear someone else's mess, go find wipes, and clean our table. 40 minutes after ordering, we asked if we could please have our beverages while waiting for food. The food was delivered 10 minutes after that. Seeing as there were 10-15 customers (average) while we were there and 4 employees, it seemed as thought there is a breakdown in efficiency.More

Actually never here but gf was. Saw pics of it. It was an old church. She thought it was okay. What's strange is is that if you look up Brunswick, Md this place doesn't come up on the list of restaurants!More

Regrettably, we cycled into this kitschy converted church coffee shop on a holiday weekend when their POS (menu ordering system) went down. The line stretched from coffee bar altar to the entrance and moved slower than DC’s Beltway traffic. THE UPSIDE was that the staff...plowed ahead with smiles and diligent service as our weak legs stepped ever-forward to order. The breakfast sandwiches and coffees are Devine and Heavenly .. and the shabby sheik ambiance was as comfortable as a good friend’s living room. This is a must do stop in visiting Brunswick. Happy cycling.More

This place has parking in the back and on the street. It is a beautiful old church with stained glass windows. Seating is indoor and outdoor. Every spot is socially distanced. There is a little gift area and comfy furniture too. You can even sit...high up in the balcony! Our coffee latte, spiced chai tea latte and quiches were perfection! Well worth finding and dining there!More

The restaurant is a converted historic church, complete with stained glass, wood floors, high rafters and tin ceilings. They've furnished it with mismatched sets of chairs and tables, antique sofas and comfy lounge chairs. Very pretty and funky. For Covid issues, they have spread the...tables out and they disinfect them for you. Masks are worn and they are careful with contacts. The food was creative and tasted very good. Prices were very reasonable. Their menu is longish and varied. We'll be back.More

I want to love it. The building is beautiful, but the service makes this place disappointing. The coffee isn’t bad tho. I have been here twice, and both times I have felt like my presence was an inconvenience. I feel like maybe if they weren’t...understaffed on a Saturday morning they could be great!
