Should keep this a secret, but if you visit from out of town or state, give it a try. 2 people can order 2 different things and share the meals just to try 2 different foods. Pretty good size portions. Be warned, some things they sell out pretty fast at lunch time. The hamburger steak and gravy is a winner!! So far everything is awesome. So far in my opinion this is the best place to eat on Ascension parish.

I had not eaten here in about a year because of COVID-19. This is my favorite restaurant in Gonzales. Portions are large with good wholesome meals. I had the pork and sausage sauce picante with a double serving of their potato salad. Absolutely delicious. Job well done guys and gals.

This was a great place! The women working there were so helpful and offered great recommendations! We have the Meal Deal. It was HUGE and DELICIOUS! We will definitely visit again before we leave.

We made the mistake of having this be the first restaurant we went to in Louisiana, and jesus it was so good, and friendly and fast and affordable and we are so worried nothing will top this.

We wanted a quick lunch and although there was already a line, the counter service is fast. Spacious and clean, but basic, food served on foam plates and plastic forks. The portions are big. The price is right, $8-$10 per dish. Great tasting and hearty. Just right for a quick meal.

This is a nice quick place to stop in for lunch. The service is really good, and particularly fast. I had the chicken breast meal, which was pretty tasty. Nothing about this place really stood out, but it's definitely a solid option if you are in the area looking for some local cuisine.

Some of the best Jambalaya and Red Beans I have ever had. Good cajun cooking served by some of the nicest folks I have ever met. It is like going to a friends house for dinner. I would definitely go back.

We both had the jambalaya with two sides. I had the potato salad and macaroni and cheese. My husband had the potato salad and red beans and rice. He said the red beans and rice was good. The potato salad was the worst I have ever had, ever. The jambalaya was ok but I couldn’t eat very much of it. I just didn’t like it. I would not recommend eating here.

We visited here for a late afternoon lunch while my husband was working in the area. We were not prepared for the huge quantity of food. The price was quite reasonable since 4 could have dined on what was for 2. We had half pastalaya, half jambalaya with sides of gumbo and white beans. It was very good and would have spoiled our dinner had we devoured it all. It would have been nice to have gotten beer to wash it down but that wasn't an option. The bread pudding is supposed to be wonderful as it is prepared daily by a local lady but we will have to try it next time.

I visited here on the recommendation of the front desk at the hotel I stayed at and was not disappointed. The cashier at the restaurant was friendly and made some good suggestions on what to try. I had the $10 special which came with jambalaya, gumbo, white beans and coleslaw. It was all good and I could have easily made 2 meals from the quantity they gave me. I would eat here again.

Dined here for the 1st time. I had the chicken and sausage gumbo and a side of potato salad. Both of them were EXTREMELY good. The gumbo was the “dine in” portion which is 24 oz. In other words it is a BIG bowl for $6.50. It had generous amounts of chicken and sausage. I will definitely be back to this location and will visit their other locations during my travels through South Louisiana. If you like Louisiana Cajun cooking then this is a place worth visiting.
