You may miss the door to this restaurant at first, but go back and find it! Order your food then go next dooor to McArthy's Irish pub to the patio in back for food serrvice. Fantastic Thai food. Wings for an appetizer then a basil beef and rice dish that was VERY spicy but not so much that you miss the flavors. Drinks from an attentive and friendly bartender at Mcarthys tops it off. ThaIrish- as our waitress suggested.

Although our hotel valet's were not familiar with the restaurant, we were glad we located Nat's. We had a superb dinner on the back patio that included delicately blended and unique flavors. The staff was kind and thoughtful. A great experience.

Nat's is a literal hole in the wall next to Spider Well and McCarthy's. The menu is short, the prices fairly cheap, and the food is excellent, Order your food, then head over to McCarthy's for a drink. They will bring you your food at McCarthy's.
That all seems a bit unconventional. It is. But here is the bottom line: the food is excellent.
I had the Kobe Basil Beef. spicy, sweet, aromatic, covering a pile of sticky rice. Delicious. I ate every morsel, every drop. My wife had the Pad Thai, and loved it. We ate at McCarthy's, had a beer and a water, and all was great.

Nat's has an excellent, flavorful menu, but operating hours are unpredictable. Have a backup plan and prepare yourself in case Nat's doesn't open at noon. There is no seating inside or outside of this tiny establishment, so head outside to Phoenix park or inside at the neighboring pub.

I keep thinking of reasons to come back to Lexington so I can eat Nats food again. Staying at the nearby Hilton, I located Nats online and chose it for good reviews and proximity - great choice. If I lived here, I would have to eat my way through the menu.
Today's special was chicken in bean paste - not something I would have picked, but the grad student waiting for his order said the specials are always great. So true - stepped out of my comfort zone and into delicious.
Must also say that the chicken lemon grass coconut milk soup is the best Thai soup I have ever had. Nice touch when Nat did a last minute taste test and added an extra pinch of spice to make it just right.
The only thing I wish I knew before going is that it is take out only. Apparently you can sit in the bar next door to eat, but take out is standard.

Nat's is great for take-away. The dishes are tasty - excellent fresh ingredients. A bit off the beaten path, and well worth finding.

My wife and I tried Nat's for dinner this week after hearing rave reviews from our friends. We were blown away by the freshness, the spices and the overall fantastic flavors that were crafted into our dishes. We remarked that this is what real Thai food tastes like, and we have traveled to Thailand many times.
We ordered our food and then went to the Irish bar next door to grab a beer, and a Nat's server brought us our food. This is a great set-up since they are such a small place, basically just a kitchen.
We will definitely be back again and again!!

I just returned from a trip to Thailand and Nats is right on par with what I was eating there. Always remember to ask what the special is because it's almost guaranteed to be exceptional.

I get take-out from nats about once a week. His special is always great. If I am feeling less adventurous I will just get his trusty kobe basil. Check out his Facebook page to see what the nightly special is.

This is the first place I have found that makes authentic Thai food and more importantly authentic Thai spice...... Non of this watered down heat! It was amazing. I was on fire, lips numb, face tingling and full of flavor. Exactly what I have been searching for.
Absolutely will go back!
The girlfriend said "Great now we will never eat anywhere else while downtown!".
I have to agree, this is my only choice now!
Order it, spice it up, feel the burn, sit back and enjoy the heat!

Nat's is a small take out place tucked away near a bar in downtown Lexington. You can have a drink at the bar if you like, and place your order at the bar itself. Nat's will bring your food to the bar. Every dish I have had there has been spectacular. Watch the spice level if you are not too enthusiastic about spicy food. This is a must do if you are in Lexington. Also, call ahead and ensure they are open before you head there.

Lexington, like most mid-size US cities has an assortment of ok Thai restaurants. But, the menus and taste all seem the same and I miss really good thai restaurants you find in DC, NYC etc (admittedly with some searching). Having spent a summer traipsing around Thailand it also made us realize what should have been obvious: there is a great variety of styles of food within Thailand. At Nat's you get flavors you won't get elsewhere sometimes reflecting the regional influences. The ingredients also taste the closest to what I have had from street vendors and restaurants in Thailand. That said, there are some negatives: it is basically a take-out place; good luck finding a menu; there is only him so you might have to wait to get the food or even to get him to answer the phone. Finally, the heat level on some of the dishes is close to what we have had in Thailand so beware!

Stopped in Nat's for lunch while in town for work. I walked right past it but the smell quickly turned me around. Small and simply menu made with fresh ingredients you can see from the counter. I took the cooks recommendation and got the kobe basil beef. Wow.... potentially one of the best thai dishes i have ever tasted. Loads of thai basil, savory beef, and the runny egg on top just makes this perfect. I will most definitely return next time i am in Lexington.
