We recently visited Verde of Zionsville with another couple. The surroundings were very nice, and it was not noisy. The service was great, and everyone enjoyed their food, but my $22 fajitas turned out to be a small order of chewy strips of beef with a small amount of grilled onions, and peppers. Flavor was good, but flour tortillas were about 4.5" in diameter and there were only three. Barely large enough to place much of anything in. I guess they figure if the portion is this small then the tortillas should be even smaller. I requested three additional tortillas which was one too many. When the bill arrived, I noticed I was charged an additional dollar for the tiny tortillas. (Two house margaritas $28) I spoke to the waiter who was extremely nice and asked to speak to the manager. After about ten minutes of waiting, I went looking for the manger. He said if I had said something earlier, he would have refunded the dollar. He came across as very aloof and said the waiter didn't tell him I wanted to speak with him. I don't believe this for a moment. I informed him it had nothing to do with the dollar - it was strictly the principle of the thing. The cost of the tortillas was probably less than $0.10. I hate up charges as most of you probably do. It's become the norm and I'm tired of it. Not long ago the Thai restaurant in Anson arbitrarily added a 20% tip to the bill. If we continue to let this type of thing happen it will only get worse. As consumers we have many choices for everything from dry cleaners to eating establishments. I don't think we'll be going back to Verde anytime soon.

Great mexican food, creative, bit expensive; highly recommend

This Verde in Zionsville on US 421 is one of about four Veride's in the greater Indy area. Most upscale than you might guess, very creative menu, excellent food, well done interior design and not too noisy. We had carne asada (done quite uniquely), salmon, and quesadillas. Wait staff (Monty) was very prompt and ensured we got our food hot and delicious. Highly recommend you consider this one; promise that it won't be quite what you expected from a more traditional Mexican restaurant. And for weekends. do recommend reservations.

Imaginaive Mexican Food in an Upscale Environment

This is one of four Verde restaurants in greater Indianapolis. Excellent Mexican food in an upscale environment. Definitely something unusual in Mexican cooking. A flexible combination platter lets you sample several dishes.

Flies Everywhere

The food was ok. The problem was that the garage doors were open, and we spent our entire mean swatting flies away from our food. Also, the chairs were very heavy and hard to maneuver.
