The proteins/sauces are made somewhere else. Microwaved here, with an incredibly cheap portion poured over rice. Don't expect much crawfish, shrimp, chicken. All you get is rice. The downtown location is awesome. The 86th street location is dissappointing.
Yats is a great lunch spot. The service is extremely fast and the portions are generous. My friends tell me there are many tasty options on the menu, but I order the chile cheese etouffee every time. Last minute find after checking into hotel...everything happens for a reason! Restaurant we planned to visit was closed. He ordered Red Beans, Sausage & rice. I ordered crawfish étouffée. Praline for dessert. Everything they served looked so delicious it was hard to choose. 3 great...vegetarian plates on the menu board, beer and good choices for drinks. Overall, can’t say enough about how much I loved this cajun/creole find in Indiana!!!!More
I had drunken chicken and chili cheese étouffée. Both were well seasoned and were great portions. The garlic bread was also delicious. The meal was $8.75. WELL WORTH EVERY PENNY!!! Great price. Lovely wall art.
A visitor to Indy, this was my first time at a Yats restaurant … I was very confused about how it all worked, but I was with work colleagues and they’d been here many times … I don’t know if I could have done it...without them! The menu looked great, though to be honest I didn’t understand much of it, and had to ask a colleague to order for me. She made a great choice with the chicken maque choux! The restaurant is super cute, and service was incredibly quick (even with a long line at the counter). Plenty of seating for the lunch time rush, and the food was DELICIOUS. I’d never had anything like it before. Would definitely come back!More
Excellent food, fast service, clean place. Only caution is that the music can be too loud, prohibiting conversation. Very busy indicating food is good!
I had the chicken maque choux and it was one of the best things I have ever eaten! I don't live in the area (visiting family) but wish I had a Yats near me. Highly, highly recommend!
We came here for lunch with a group of 4. The service was very friendly. Our lunch was served super fast. I was undecided on what to have. They let you get half portions so you can try two. I ended up trying the drunken...chicken and the spinach etouffee. Both dishes where pretty good for NOLA in Indy. The bread is amazing!More
A good place to go for a quick bite to eat. Reasonably priced southern dining. They serve beer. I like their vegetarian dishes, and the white chicken chili.
A great southern Louisiana style restaurant where you can chose from a variety of flavors. They have a small selection of nice beer. The atmosphere is paper plates and plastic silverware.
