Right off of I-69 at the Goshen Road/US30 exit, if you head east a short distance on Goshen you will find this restaurant at the corner of Goshen and Coliseum. They are a diner in every sense of the word, having blue plate specials, breakfast specials, and dinner specials. The decor harkens back to the 1960s New York era (the Statue of Liberty being the dominant motif), even though the restaurant opened in 2003. The staff are all friendly and helpful, and we were asked several times if we needed any help. The menu is copious, and you may have a hard time making up your mind. The French onion soup is some the best we have had anywhere (it is baked fresh), and there is a thick blanket of mozzarella on top. The desserts are also a highlight and are decadent. The entrees are all solid, and we enjoyed stuffed cabbage rolls, which I would gladly have again. The mashed potatoes seemed grainy to me, and maybe they needed less pureeing or the skins in them. The menu also offers Greek specialties including Sovlaki. The restaurant is comfortable and handicapped friendly. There was plenty of parking. The restrooms were dirty, but were the only place I saw that was. There are lots of windows in the diner, so you can see out in most directions. There are a lot of truckers who pass through this intersection, and getting in and out of the parking lot was somewhat of a challenge, along with the potholes in the parking lot. But overall, it was a rewarding visit and worth repeating.

The head waitress remembered us from last year, sat us at the same table and we got great service and utterly delicious food cooked to perfection and served with style in a very short time after ordering. Catered to all our needs with smiles, even with masks on! - and very professional demeanor. Other patrons obviously enjoyed their meals as much as we did. Locals eat there - and there's not much better food anywhere (said by a world traveler and former restaurant manager)!

We enjoyed our meal, but were delighted that we saw that there were breakfast specials advertised on the table just before we ordered—slightly smaller combos that were available til 11 am! They were served with a choice of coffee or OJ. $8.95! Lots of big breakfast entrees, but a split charge of $2 per person! No thank you! Sausage gravy was tasty, veggie omelet was great, but no option for “real” maple syrup, if you care. We’d stop again if we were in the area.

The food is absolutely wonderful - I look forward to visits to Fort Wayne to eat at the Liberty Diner. The service always great - pleasant and prompt in responding to orders.. The owner is always available - he talks to customers and always asks if there is anything they might need. I is like eating at home in my mom's kitchen!!!

Whoever said the fish and chips with coleslaw was bland, probably had Covid and had lost their taste. That’s the only logical explanation. I ordered it and was thoroughly impressed. It was amazing. I’m headed back this evening to try something else. Highly recommend this place.

In Fort Wayne to attend a show, we had high hopes for this diner for dinner. But it was not to be. His Chicken Piccato was swimming in juice, smothered in mushrooms, only one caper seen, and while the chicken was well cooked, the dish was disappointing. My Spinach Pie tasted like it had been cooked early in the afternoon and sat there drying up ever since. Our shared Salad was nothing to write home about either.

Excellent food for 4 completely different orders. Really large choice plus daily specials. Service is always excellent. Hubby had TheCuban, daughter had chicken salad in crescent, other family member had beef stroganoff special, lastly had The Phillie. Soup is always homemade & delicious, coming with every order. Come here couple times a year as don’t live close( an hour) but always satisfied. Plus breakfast all day-

Nice surprise en route from Michigan to see the eclipse. Signage is confusing - says Family Restaurant and Liberty Diner is only posted flush on the building. A bit pricey but you get enough to take home, and the food is absolutely delicious. As is the service. Go!

Absolutely wonderful food. I had biscuits and gravy and it was the best I have ever had. My husband omelette was huge. Old time diner with a tired ambiance made up by the food and prices. Heavy patriotic decor

Good atmosphere, good service, I enjoyed stopping in on my way outta town. Eggs where a bit runny for an omelette but that’s a baby complaint. Coffee is as diner coffee is so don’t expect Starbucks. Would definitely come back!

We stopped here a year ago on our way north and made it a point to stop again this year. Once again, french onion soup and chicken rice soup were excellent!! I had pork wrap and my husband had a special, both were excellent!! We had same waitress, and she was great again as well. I wish we lived closer. This would be a fun place to have as a place to come regularly. Don’t worry about the area outside. The restaurant’s family atmosphere more than makes up for the seedy area.

This restaurant is a diner. It's clean, nice, and the food is exceptional. I work for Greeks and the Chicken Lemon soup is probably the best I've ever had. The portions are generous. I wish we could have tried everything on the menu. We will definitely return. Service was awesome too.

Ok Went there for about the 15th time. Just as amazing as ever. Didn't get our usual server but had an adorable Hispanic gal who was having her first week. She was terrific! Ordered the moussaka and soup w Greek salad. Was soooo delicious. Way too much food for just one meal. Partner got the Half a baked chicken. Said it was the best he'd ever had. Moist and flavorful. So much dinner he brought some home for lunch tomorrow. Now dessert!!! Ordered bread pudding w caramel sauce and apple dumpling. Must have been a run on both cause at 6:30, both were all gone. Either the manager or owner (Latino guy) came out to our table to deliver the bad news. Super nice and helpful. We ended up with coconut creme pie and raspberry cheesecake. OMG both so delicious and huge portions. Totally forgot about what we had wanted originally. Brought half the pie home. Too big!! This restaurant never disappoints and just when u think they might, Shazam!! Its all better. Thanks again Liberty Diner Michael and Ed
