What’s not to love? The hotdogs, bowls of homemade chili, and glass bottled coca-cola adds to the dining atmosphere. While waiting for your food, you can look around at the pictures on the wall depicting the restaurant and Fort Wayne throughout the years. The inside...decor hasn’t changed much since I was a kid. I have lots of good memories coming here with my dad as a child. I look forward to someday taking my kid here and keeping the tradition alive.More

The food came fast and service was good but the food was just ok and the bathroom was very small. Overall it was okay and would be good for a short lunch.

Famous Coney Island has the best coneys anywhere. The restaurant is a cool place to eat, the coneys are delicious, and the little Coke bottles are the iconic. If you are in Ft. Wayne stop and get some coney hotdogs with onions, of course. The...absolute best ever. The chili is also very scrumptious. I have great memories of Coney Island with family, looking at Santa Claus on the side of the building and eating coneys. ☺️🙌🙌More

Always enjoyed the food, and had been coming here for years. Terrible and rude employee changed my mind to ever come again.

I love the story, history, and old time feel of the place. Unfortunately, the hot dog and service fell below expectations.

The service is bad when it is busy. The employees appeared to be more concern with stocking the supplies than waiting on the customers. This place is all hype...you all need to see how skinny that hot dog was. The bun, the mustard and the...onions were good. The hot dog needed to be cooked a few minutes longer for my taste. The lemonade was very good. The parking is almost like no parking at all in the back, I was lucky to get a spot because someone just came out...I think you have to pay for parking if you do not get a space behind the restaurant. They say this place is award winning????? Not in my book..it is all hype, maybe in the past it was..but not with that skinny not quite cooked hot dog. I am from the Detroit area....please go to American Coney Island in Detroit Facebook page or their website and see what a hot dog should be, larger and cooked to done. Sorry Fort Wayne Famous Coney Island I was not impressed. The price is right. I wanted a hamburger for $4.95 but I did not have time to wait for it. Maybe if they improve their service, parking and get larger hot dogs and cook them longer.. I will be back and give a better review.More

In Fort Wayne on business, my coworkers insisted I have a Coney Island hotdog before leaving and am so glad I did! They are so unique and tasty!! I also got the chili soup, which was perfect for dipping my hotdog buns into. Not at...all what I expected and I’m glad I gave this unique little venue a whirl! Definitely recommend!!More

Fort Wayne's Famous Coney Island Restaurant, which was established in 1914, is the oldest operating restaurant in the Indiana town and the oldest hot dog stand in America. Located at 131 West Main Street, west of US Route 27, near the Fort Wayne Museum of...Art, it was founded by Macedonian ancestors of the current caretakers of the unique eatery, Jimmy Todoran and Kathy Choka. Over the years, some things have changed and some things haven't. For example, there is a 1930s black-and-white framed photograph of the interior, showing the same stools and tables. A McCray cooler of the late 1920s is still in operation. And guests are still served original Coca-Cola in the classic eight-ounce bottles. Open from 9 to 9 Sunday through Thursday and 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, Coney Island is known for its hot dogs, burgers, chili and pie. My wife and I had to sample the house speciality, a Coney Island hot dog, a juicy grilled frank plopped into a steamed hot dog bun, drizzled with home-made coney sauce and topped with hand-chopped onions and mustard. As good as advertised. But the sauce seems to put it over the top. With a bowl of baked beans and a bowl of home-made chili soup with oyster crackers. The cheeseburger isn't bad, either, premium beef on a steamed hamburger bun with cheese, mustard, ketchup, pickle and onion.More

If I rated Coney Island for the interesting history, the super-low prices, or the extremely nice young man who served me and talked to me, I would rate it a five. I love history and the look hasn’t seem to have changed for 100 years....I love that. The chili dogs are ok. They aren’t grilled, but boiled. But it’s what I expected. Beans were tasty. Sweet. I almost never give out a 5, so a 4 means outstanding. A 3 doesn’t mean bad. It means average if I’m ranking it strictly on the food, and that’s okay. Give it a try. It’s history.More

This is an over 100 year old old fashioned diner. Count seating and booths. Very nostalgic. Tony bathroom! Basically serves hot dogs with chili on it which they call sauce. They have burgers, chili, beans and chips. You can get authentic small glass bottle of...Coca cola. Tasty, good price. $1.75 per dog. Lots of workers working fast and furious and are friendly! Offer souvenirs also. Try it, nostalgia at its bestMore
