Food, drink and service were fine, nothing special. We were disappointed when the cashier would not accept the El Rodeo gift card we offered as payment, no explanation, just would not accept it. We won’t be going back as there are better choices nearby.

We've been going to El Rodeo for years, as well as the sister El Rodeo on the West Side of Zionsville, aka Whitestown, on Rte. 334 just east of I-65. A nice place for reliably decent to good food. If you want to ask for...attention to something (it seems to be essential, almost everywhere, when ordering beans, refried or other, to ask "can the kitchen make sure the beans are HOT? ... temperature?"), then they'll try to accommodate you. This staff, like most others, appreciates it if one speaks any Spanish (or Spanglish) at all, so know the word for "hot" is Caliente.... As is often found, the shredded chicken for quesadillas, tacos, and more is very good, tasty and not too spicy (kids might like it). The salsa, in our opinion, is delicious. The tortilla chips seem always to be fresh, and, thank goodness, not heavily salted. For aficionados of Mexican food (like us, orig from Calif.), just know that what you know as a Chile Relleno is -- unless they've changed this -- going to have cheese AND some ground meat in it. To get the Chile Relleno with which you are more familiar, ask them if they have a chile poblano ... and confirm it has cheese, no meat. Prices remain reasonable. They have a hard-working and positive crew -- very polite, friendly, and helpful. It gets VERY busy at high noon-ish and the area's usual suppertimes, so we prefer to go at slightly off times (supper at 7:45 pm or later). A very reliable place, especially if one is hungry. You'll leave full, for sure.More

Clean and cheerful atmosphere. Excellent menu variety - everything we ordered was delicious! I had the Grilled Tilapia & Shrimp and they were kind enough to put the queso cheese on the side and replace my rice with black beans - everything was very good!...Highly recommend their fresh guac to dip chips in. Their salsa is good, has a kick but nothing crazy! My husband got their loaded Nachos and it was excellent! Good service! Everyone was friendly! Would recommend!!!More

We ordered $50.00 worht of carry out. When we got home (20 minute drive later) we found that one whole meal was missing and one side was missing. I called twice. Both times I was told that we had our food and they indicated that...I was lying. I said why would I call you and lie about something like that and I only wanted a refund of what we were missing, the manager again said he spoke to his staff and we got all our food. Again saying I was liyng. I did not lie, I also did not get my dinner after paying for it. Not an appropriate or acceptable way to treat a customer no matter how much they spend.More

We were seated and served quickly. Enchilada's were really good. Fajita's were average and they were out of refried beans so they served us black beans? Salas was excellent and tasted much fresher with the addition of fresh cilantro. This was our first visit to...this eatery and we would most likely return! Enjoy! J.More

The most delightful Mexican restaurant in the North Indianapolis/Carmel area. Food is delicious, the service is excellent, and the bathrooms are spotless. You can’t go wrong.

This is your basic white cheese kind of traditional Mexican food. They bring you chips and a good salsa right away, and they are usually prompt on ordering. They have a range of things we like to get, but the lunch fajitas are a good...deal. They have a nice patio section for good weather, and they have TVs that often show sports inside. They can easily handle large groups, and kids are welcome. Prices are very reasonable.More

We eat here all the time. As my adult son with autism calls it, it’s “an all time family favorite”! Staff is friendly and treats you like family and they are very accommodating to my son with special needs. Food is always good and comes...out quickly and hot.More

In addition to the standards, like queso and chips, they have expanded the menu to include things like a pork roast with black beans and rice. Service as always was attentive without being intrusive.
