We were the first customers in for lunch and it was really nice and quiet. I absolutely love tapas food and find it hard to find a place that is truly a tapas restaurant. The bacon wrapped dates were to die for. I could eat them all day long. We ordered the baked snail, the empanada and my husband ordered a meat dish with potatoes. Everything was amazing. The ambience was great, waiter was very attentive and I would have loved to see the place on a Saturday night with live music. We will definitely go back to this little gem in Evanston.

Having gone to Evanston to run an errand, we needed a place to have lunch. Chose Tapas Barcelona and it turned out pretty good. The restaurant was relatively empty - January 2 around 2 pm - so getting a table was no problem. The server was great - friendly, attentive, prompt. We had the octopus, meatball, dates tapas ... and a couple of others that I forget their names. We wanted to have the patatas bravas but no luck as they had run out of the sauce and therefore weren’t serving them. The pricing is more than reasonable so value to cost is great.

We had a very good diner. The atmosphere is great. The tilapia was excellent. The snails were good but not something I would take again. Each snail was served on a piece of baguette with an excellent aioli But it was too much bread not enough snails for me. The sea food paella was very good. And what I liked about each plates it was Quality over quantity. We ate just fine. With a glass of wine $45. Staff very nice. It was full and service was perfectly timed.

Not my first time at Tapas Barcelona. I enjoy the atmosphere and the service is usually good. Good ingredients but nothing transcending in their cuisine. Some examples:
Sangria: a sangria has marinated fruits in it. here fruits are in the glass (not marinated) and sweet red wine comes in a pitcher. Clearly not the product of a fine craft.
Paella: again, good ingredients but is it not cooked long enough so the rice does not have the time to absorb all the flavors of the fish/chicken/seafood

Our family enjoyed sharing a variety of small plates. All were delicious - some exceptional! The seafood was well prepared, never over done! The wait staff seemed genuinely happy to serve us and was proud of each dish. The food came out at a good pace and each dish was hot and fresh. We will definitely eat there again!

We were greeted warmly at the door. Our waiter was welcoming. We ordered olives and a glass of old vine zin. Delicious. And then we ordered grilled squid-amazing, tortilla espagnola-yum -and fried calamari and shrimp. Wow! Everything was delicious!
I hadn’t been there since the late 1990’s and I was wondering if it would still be good.
It surpassed any expectations.

Our visits here have been generally satisfying and the crowds used to testify to its popularity. We went again soon after Evanston "opened" up. It was good to be back even though the new normal meant fewer people...We were able to sit by the window and the service was informal and the food by and large good though the Jamon y Pan de Tomate was somewhat disappointing. The Pincho de Pollo, the Datilles a la Sevillana and the vegetarian Paella were all good. It's good to see Tapas B back in operation!

I would highly recommend this place to anyone familiar with tapas, there is a wide variety and everything is very delicious. Personally the garlic chicken and potatoes and the sausage rigatoni were my favorite dishes, but the mussels are excellent as well.
The only thing that kept this from being a 5 star was the red sangria! I recommend getting the white (or trying both and deciding for yourself)
Our waiter was excellent as well.

Restaurant Tapas Barcelona in Evanston truly impressed us with its delightful Spanish tapas and charming atmosphere. The menu was a tantalizing array of small plates, each bursting with authentic flavors that transported us to Spain. The attentive staff provided excellent recommendations and made us feel welcomed throughout our dining experience. The cozy and inviting ambiance complete with rustic decor and Spanish music, added to the charm of the restaurant. If you're looking for a fantastic tapas experience in Chicago North Shore, Restaurant Tapas Barcelona in Evanston is the place to go.

Q Tips say: We like small plates (tapas). Was busy. Delicious food & all at an affordable price. Indoor/outdoor dining. I had my Old Fashion & the other half had a Margarita. Our Son & daughter in law had: Barcelona Sangria.
We shared several small plates: Albondigas con Tomate – Beef meatballs in tomato sauce and cut sweet potatoes potatoes. Gambas Al Ajillo – Sautéed shrimp with a garlic sauce. Queso de Cabra Con Tomate – Goat Cheese in a tomato sauce with garlic bread. Had a great time w/the Daughter in Law & Son. Happy Times.

My good friend invited me and my daughter to Tapas Barcelona for dinner. It's a cozy place with the right atmosphere and setting. It's a warm and inviting restaurant country to the cold winder outside. My friend ordered different types of tapas, seafood plate, pizza and a bottle of red wine recommended by the manager. Tapas were delicious and the wine matched well with the dishes. It's a wonderful dinner!

We were so impressed with our first time visit. The table for the four of us looked out on Chicago Avenue and the interior of this restaurant is also warm and inviting with soft lighting and distances between the tables. The fish dishes were excellent and the veggie choices were outstanding. We will definitely return. I am so glad I did call several days ahead for a Saturday night time of 5:30.

The room is beautiful and the ambience is warm and festive. TB offers fine dining at fast casual prices. The service was perfect, the food came out hot and promptly. Out of the five plates we tried (3 entrees and 2 salads) one was pretty good; the other four were off the charts excellent.
Get this. We had 5 plates, split a dessert and two glasses of wine apiece. The pre-tip "damage" - $108. In Evanston!
It can be tough to get in (high demand) but it is well worth the effort.

My family tells me that the place has been in existence for more than 2 decades. Decided to try it with family.
Ambience : very good
Food: Yummy
Service: Quick
The gravy of the Patatas Bravas made it very tasty. The Pizza was fluffy and excellent. Pisto Manchengo was good.
The accompaniment of Sangria made it a wonderful experience

My girlfriend and I went there for an experience to celebrate her recently just finishing a semester of teaching, and it didn’t disappoint. We sat outside. The hostess Maya was great as well as our waitress Clara. The food we had was really good and very festive. The sangrias were very tasty. We highly recommend for someone who’s looking to have delicious Tapas dishes.
