My nephew and I had come here a year or 2 ago, had a positive experience, and so we decided to visit once again for brunch. Service was friendly and efficient, food was delicious, and the atmosphere is relaxing and enjoyable. My nephew had a salad and coffee, and I had the mushroom, spinach and gruyere omelet, with hash browns and multigrain toast, and a spiced dark chocolate. Everything was tasty and fresh. I was especially enchanted by the self service sparkling water. My one qubble is that the spiced dark chocolate could have been a bit darker, and a bit spicier, but that's just me. Overall, another positive experience, and most likely we will be back again.

Lovely, gracious staff and wonderful food, a complete five star. A patient Line out the door all morning, staff greeting and providing menus, a calm, good "vibe". Our multi-generation group ordered a full range from bagel to sandwich to plated breakfasts and found all excellent. But, oh the bakery - the croissants ! I can't imagine the line with school in next month, yet I'm confident the efficient staff has a method. Recommended.

2nd day here for breakfast. I highly recommend. First day we had mushroom & spinach omelette/ French toast. Fantastic, very filling. Today we had the European Breakfast (Greek yoghurt mixed berries granola and honey drizzled) - very tasty and light. Both days we had the House Brew coffee with 1 free refill. Service quick and friendly. Help yourself water on tap (free). As I say definitely a good breakfast choice.

I’ve been to Cupitol several times the last few years. The food and coffee are excellent. Walked in today and only half the tables were full. After waiting 10 minutes to get to the counter we were told we could only order drinks and the kitchen wasn’t taking any food orders at the moment. We were told to wait at the table and then get back in line to order food. When asked when we could order food we were told they didn’t know. While we sat at our table we saw that the “to go” order tickets kept coming in and “to go” orders were coming out of the kitchen at the sacrifice of customers in the establishment. After sitting a half hour we were told it would be minimally an hour before the kitchen would take orders in the restaurant. Sad that customers in the restaurant take a second seat to online orders and no one working in the establishment was managing the situation effectively.

Props to Cupitol Coffee for keeping their tables and chairs outside even in November. Today was my first visit here since we wanted a meeting spot between Chicago and Skokie, and Cupitol fit the bill. However, my coffee was cold and I was told there was no microwave to heat it. I bought my friend a slice of tiramisu (who was celebrating her 70th birthday) but she would not eat it because the plastic utensils were not wrapped like most other restaurants. I would love to return but buy a microwave!

Oh num, just thinking back on our experience :)
Well made coffee drinks. Plus, they are open all day so you can also have adult beverages, too. We went for breakfast. We enjoyed our meals - #5 sandwich and steak. Really delicious. We also got some baked goods to go and they were also very, very good. I'd have looked forward to returning if our stay had been longer.
The place has several different types of places to sit. I think the idea is you find your spot and then order because you need to tell them which table you are at when ordering your food so they can deliver it to you. There were regular tables, high top for communal seating, some couches and chairs for a more living room feel. The entire place is just inviting.
My daughter had a chai - I'm guessing they might make their own chai mix. So good however it's made as you can taste the spices and there was a little kick to it as well. My daughter did add some honey, but we'd both agree it's better to get it not overly sweet to begin with and make it as you like it.
Busy, but not so much as to make it uncomfortable.

cupitol is a casual place to grab a light meal or drink with a snack. The food is interesting, and in my opinion slightly overpriced (but then again I think a lot of casual restaurants are overpriced). The food is interesting though I wish they would rotate their soup menu so the same soup was not always on the same day of the week (we come once a week, on the same day, and would like to try different soups).
Other "complaint" is that seating can be difficult. Cupitol is a hang out with lots of people parking themselves over lunch.

Three staff members were rude and dropped attitude with rolling of eyes and dismissive comments when asked about their gluten free options. When we asked to see the manager the response was “you are not allowed to speak to the kitchen manager”. Extremely disappointing as it was friends and family for a bday celebration.

Breakfast and coffee are a priority when we travel. After a walk on the beach we arrived just before nine on a Sunday morning. The coffee and food were outstanding. The breakfast sandwich was to die for. Best value meal in Evanston.
Service was prompt polite and under the watchful eye of a very friendly supervisor.
It was wonderful to walk in just ahead of a crowd that arrived from a charity run and made a line out the door. The staff did not lose a beat.

Yep! No. 1 for a reason. I don’t think you can miss. I could name several things we tried and they all were good. The drip coffee was piping hot. Nice.
It’s a busy place. Cafe style. But they take good care of you.

I like the quality of the coffee at this place. They know how to prepare a good espresso. On the flip side, I ordered an espresso and an espresso macchiato. The person at the counter prepared my espresso and then started preparing other lattes, so my macchiato came 10 min after I had already finished my espresso. Those are details they should pay more attention to. Especially when we were only 5 people in the shop.

Cute little shop with great coffee selection and breakfast menu. All the pastries looked too good to eat. Great atmosphere and very friendly staff. Would highly recommend this place to stop for a good bite, coffee, or a tasty treat!

Stopped in for a coffee date and was pleasantly surprised. Very comfortable environment to sit and talk and the coffee was top notch.
I would highly recommend Cupitol to anyone in the Evanston area, or to anyone who really enjoys quality coffee.

Our breakfast was great! I had the midwestern omelette. Not greasy and not huge, perfect size!! The sweet potatoes hash was very good! The staff is very friendly.
