Really good service. Nice deck on lower level with picnic benches. Lots of cute lighting. Veggie spring rolls were pretty good. Six to order. Crab meat tator tots were plentiful with some type of dressing, green onions and shredded crab. Huge platter to share. Good...prices on drinks.More

Don't go, it's laid back, it's comfortable and the food is good. Don't go and ruin it for the rest of us. We love the food. Boom boom shrimp is fast and really flavorful on hot day with a cold beer. Nothing better.

We have frequented The Hurricane many times since our first visit after we were married on the beach at Pass-A-Grille in 2005. The sunset and dolphin frolicking views from the rooftop never disappoint, but the state of the building, service, and food now leave much...to be desired. We took the elevator to the rooftop and were greeting with huge signs everywhere taped down with red tape of what looked like dos/don'ts. It was not very welcoming. When we got to the rooftop, we ordered cocktails from Cat who was very brisk and seemed put off when we questioned her about the bill when we cashed out. All of the roof furniture is in serious need of replacing as is the deck flooring - there were several loose tiles that could cause someone to trip and fall. There is now food available but only in plastic bags and take out containers which is really not a good look. After a couple of cocktails, we were going to go to the second floor for dinner but opted for the downstairs bar instead. It was a ghost town which spoke volumes. The whole interior is in need of a major overhaul. Our bartender, Francine, was just a lovely person, but she was stretched so thin. There was some "manager" that obviously had no clue what he was doing and was causing the bartenders and servers more work. I ordered a powerbowl with steak and my husband the fried shrimp platter both of which were nicely prepared. Hoping they get new management and get this local icon back to her glory days!More

What a view! Really neat place to have a drink, snack, or dinner. We went around lunchtime and had drinks and snacks. The downfall is that the menu is different from the one downstairs and when the sun is beating down, many of the tables...and bar will literally burn you if you sit at them. Thankfully, some people were leaving and we were able to grab their shady spot. Nice breeze. Good food. I really liked it. I definitely recommend checking it out.More

My husband and I were in Florida to get married and spend out honeymoon there. We got a gift card from family for The Hurricane Seafood Restaurant and wow are we so happy to have received that! The food was great, multiple options for everyone....The service was amazing as well, we even met the owner who wanted to make sure everything was good and service was strong. We love seeing managers and owners walking around to talk to customers because it shows how much they actually care about their restaurant and service. It was an awesome experience with an amazing view and food. We like the casual style as it was a nice little date night meal. We ended up returning back for a second time and had just as wonderful of an experience! Must go there!!More

It's that time again! Another restaurant review that incorporates both experience and execution through the lens of friendship. Hurricane's is impressive. It raises out of the quiet, almost somber, Pass-A-Grille beach peninsula like a castle from a fairytale. It is as much a statement as...it is a structure. By far the biggest structure on PAG beach, your eye and heart are instantly drawn to it. The first time I laid eyes on Hurricane's I could immediately tell it would be one of the best places to catch a sunset (it is btw) in all of Pinellas County, and maybe all of Florida. I had never gotten an opportunity to enjoy the food or drinks here until Bobby, as per usual, brought me along on an adventure. Eckerd College had decided to host their Alumni night there and he was going to it . He wanted me to go along despite having a different Alma Mater. I quibbled with Bobby about not going since I wasn't a Triton but he waived his hands and said "nonsense! they'll never know" Of course he didn't care because he was literally the best pitcher they'd ever had on their college baseball team and he was best friends with the head of the biochem department so he walked me in with the deserved confidence of someone of his stature. I trotted in alongside him, masked in the cape of his confidence. Im so glad they let me in because it was a night to remember. We mostly stayed on the top of Hurricane's. It's an open air bar where you can see for miles of ocean and beach and smell the voluptuous ocean air, salty and warm and assuring. Drinking a beer or daiquiri on the rooftop of Hurricane's is kinda indescribable, I know what you're thinking 'uhhh hey that's the whole point of reading this friggin review! you BETTTER describe fella!' Ok ok hold your horses let me see: enjoying an adult beverage at Hurricane's makes you feel like your Baloo in Talespin. That's the most I can articulate it really, like you're Baloo just throwing em back at Louie's place just havin docked the ol' Seaduck plane and waiting for Kit Cloudkipper to hurry back with some onion rings. Easy living y'all just easyyyy L-I-V-I-N. The food is good, it's what you'd want and also what you'd expect. But it delivers. The service is awesome too. I have to say shenanigans aren't necessarily so much invited as they are understood at Hurricane's. This place knows what it is and gives you what you want. And what is it huh? What is it that you want when you're at the beach? You want a place that FEELS like a reprieve right? A place that CELEBRATES celebrating. You want it to feel whimsical and grand and lenient. That's Hurricane's. It just is. It changed my life and I KNOW it changed Bobby. He met his wife there, like he literally met the girl he was going to marry that night at Hurricane's. I'm not saying Hurricane's will get you married, what I'm saying is it won't stop you from it! If that ain't a review I don't know what is. So go, check it out. Catch a sunset. Order a daiquiri and grouper sandwhich. Laugh. Love. LIVE. Bring a friend...or make one there. Throw caution to the wind. Throw your fate...into a hurricane.More

Trying to enjoy the beach vibe across the street and can't even hear the sound of the waves. Radio blasting on Q105. Called the manager and she didn't care. Not good Hurricane, not good.

First let me say that the guy who was working the front and taking you to your seat was doing a good job. He was very personable and engaged you in conversation. After this the rest of the restaurant goes down hill. We asked to...sit in the AC section, but it felt no different then other parts of the restaurant. There was also a weird odor that I think was a combination of musty air and garbage circulating through the room. When my wife went to sit on her chair, she noticed it was covered in sand. I know this is at the beach, but at least the table and chairs can be cleaned. My wife ordered the fry diablo shrimp pasta. Well usually they ask how spicy you like the dish, but not here and let me saw the food was beyond spicy and almost uneatable. Then the pasta was well over cooked and even hard. I ordered the grilled shrimp taco. Well let me say the shrimp was not grilled and looked like they had some extra cold shrimp laying around and just put them on a tortilla shell and covered them with cheese. We did explain the food to the waitress but she did not seem to care. Let me say we were out of there quick after wasting $60 and will not be back there.More

Have never been treated so poorly by any restaurant - ever. Avoid at all costs. We wanted to try the Hurricane for a change of scenery. This was a Sunday evening around 6. I called to ask if we would be able to get in...if we were to arrive shortly. The lady with whom I spoke was friendly and said sure, but that we may have a little wait, and we could get a drink on the rooftop bar while we waited. When we arrived, however, ten minutes later, the two women at the hostess stand were down right nasty with us. Said they were full, no chance we could get in. We told them about the phone call - she said she had no idea what we were talking about and reiterated, more forcefully, “we’re full.” The other lady who didn’t speak as much may have been the one we spoke with, but at that point I’m sure she was afraid to speak. Had to be there to understand the full scope of what happened. I post a lot & this is the only time I’ve given a venue a one star. Also first time I’ve been treated this way. It was an embarrassment to the restaurant, and the other guests within earshot seemed mortified as well, seems like they felt sorry for us for the humiliating treatment. We left (obviously) and this put us off on the entire Pass A Grille area. We’ll go to John’s Pass where they welcome their guests.More
