upon entering there was nobody to greet us for lunch. finally a nice young server came out from the kitchen and sat us at a booth adjacent to the bar. We both ordered seafood dishes. I ordered a lobster roll with butter. It was terrible,...all dried out, flavorless. I have been to this establishment before and reluctantly decided to come back and regret that decision. Overpriced menu items, very small amount of non house made dishes. Cole slaw was bagged, fries were frozen, as im guessing the lobster meat was as well. We were the only people in the place and I felt bad for the server but as always tipped 20%. My companion had a fish dish that she said was terrible as well. The side portions are extremely small. With all the other places in the area look elsewhere. We can see where this money pit is headed. lesson learned- trust your first bad reviewMore
We had a super experience here. Restaurant is in a strip mall and has a neighborhood hangout feel to it. Covid precautions are being observed. Everything is immaculately clean. Richard was our server. He was friendly, knowlegable and truly wanted the customer to be satisfied....We had fresh fish choices. They tasted really fresh. No concern about the fish being day old or anything but the best. Sides are good, too. Tip: You can add a side piece of fish to a meal for $5. This is a great deal. So, if your expectations are in the right place, you'll have a fine and memorable time.More
Went here recently with a Groupon deal and we both had an excellent meal. Started with an order of mussels in garlic and wine which were very good, tender, not chewy. I had the grilled seafood platter which was excellent. Wife had the lobster roll...which had chunks of lobster on a buttered roll. New England clam chowder also very good. Also got a side of crab legs. The sweet tea is truly sweet tea, not watered down or powdered mix. Live entertainment is a lady singing along with a better than average karaoke type system. Sang mostly easy listening type songs and was entertaining. We'd visit again.More
Went there because I had a $30 living social coupon went with a friend we ordered two iced teas we ordered the clam cakes my friend had the shrimp roll and I had the scallop roll. The clam cakes we're very good could have used...a little more clam but the dough and the crispiness was excellent my friend's shrimp roll had many many shrimp on it and she enjoyed it came with fries and coleslaw I had the scallop roll which only had four scallops they were nice size I wish they had had more but it was good and their fries again are very good. The meal came to $36 but with the living social coupon the bill was five bucks plus tip on the $36 . Can't beat that, again the service was prompt the server was very nice we never wanted from anything and she did come and ask how things were several times, the place was very clean so please support a local business and keep them going.More
Rare are the reviews that I write that describe a "1-dot" experience. Buster's earns that designation...barely. Starting with the $5/cup New England "Clam" Chowder, there was indeed a chip of clam in the container of tasteless, pasty gruel. Devoid of clam flavor and chock full...of potatoes, the viscosity of this mess supported a spoon standing up straight. Additions of salt, pepper and butter did nothing to improve the sad flavor of this item. Even worse was the fried whole belly clam entrée checking in with a $25 price tag. The stingy serving of clams is pictured below. In addition, they were dry, certainly not fresh-tasting and mercilessly overcooked. (I'm from New England. I know how this stuff shouid taste.) The entrée included a small cup of cole slaw which was ok and a pile of french fries would would have been enough for three people. It's also worth noting that my food was not brought to me until 10 minutes after the online ordering sysrtem said that it would be done. I suspect that the food was sitting around for a while. They had a lead time of 30+ minutes and it was ice cold by the time I brought it home. I try to support local independent restaurants while we are on partial lockdown. Despite my love of New England seafood, this will be my last visit to Buster's. The $34.50 bill (including tax and tip) for such poor quality food is not a mistake that I will repeat.More
Since my sister and I heard good things about Busters, we decided to go for lunch on Super Bowl Sunday. Our experience with the service was poor. There were only 3 other tables with diners, so it was not crowded. We understood there was a...new computer program for the staff that they were attempting to use, but to ignore us was ridiculous. We ordered our lunch and never saw our waitress. Well, we did as she walked past us mumbling about the computer program. My sister needed more ketchup but no one was around for her to ask. No refills were offered to our empty beverages and at one point my sister got up from the table to find someone for a refill. Long story short, the wait was crazy and at one point we saw one waitress doing nothing by the bar. Desserts? We asked for key lime pie. We were told there was not any. We ordered doughboy dessert. After 15 minutes, my sister walked to find a waitress and asked for it to go. Our doughboy dessert had not even been prepared. Suddenly, key lime pie WAS available. We live close by in Plantation and our lunch was far from relaxing.More
Buster's website declares "Have an unforgettable flavor experience." We did have such an unforgettable experience as, to put it bluntly: The food was just terrible!! The fish and chips was lousy. The fish was soggy and overcooked. The chips? McDonald's fries taste better. The coleslaw...was likewise disgusting. It was so bad that we forego the usual polite response "it's ok" when asked by our server as we simply let her have our true opinion. I feel bad for her as she's not responsible for whatever mess the kitchen crew is turning out but it had to be said. The clam cakes were passable, too doughy for our taste, bland and not worth the price. All in all I could not in good conscience recommend this place to anyone. Service was rather mediocre. We had to ask for the server to come to our table, there was no cutlery in our table, we were never asked if we wanted more water, we waited about 30 minutes in a rather quiet evening for dishes that should come out in no more than 15 minutes. Ambiance? Lousy with some lady pretending to be a DJ with some passe music circa 1970s. So there you have it. My earnest opinion about our experience in this place is that it has to rank up there among the worst places we've ever eaten at. Poor service, terrible food, not worth the money. I wish we had stuck to our original plan and gone to Golden Crust instead but now I must try to clean up the nasty flavor with some ice cream perhaps.More
11/8 1:00 pm Empty restaurant, one server. Ipswitch clams (bellies requested) heaped on hot dog roll, to appear larger in proportion (half the size of portions in Massachusett restaurants) Returned order. in the mound, all were strips you could buy in a frozen food section...of your local market, three clams with bellies. Leaving, looking down from table...an absolutely filthy concrete floor. Not the New England I know well. Won't be returning.More
This was my second visit to this seafood restaurant. The food is consist. The lobster bisque is good with chunky pieces of lobster. I was a little disappointed in the size of the snow crabs. They were extremely small. For $27, I expected more out...of this dish. It didn't lack flavor but they should work on the sauce that's used to make the seafood boil. I also didn't like the shrimp in the seafood boil because the shrimp wasn't devained. On the other hand, the grilled scallop and shrimp platter with string beans that my husband ordered was delicious. I'm all for a good karaoke night, but the music selection has to change. Unless the owner only wants a certain age group to continue to patronize the restaurant, I would suggest updating the music selection. The restaurant has the look of a sports bar but the music that the individuals were singing makes you want to fall asleep. It was not an energetic environment. But overall the staff are nice and the food is good.More
