We would have liked to sit upstairs in the bar area but it was full upon arrival at 5:00 P.M. There is an open air but covered part of the restaurant that is directly below the bar that we were seated in. Great view of the sunset and they have these small trees that glow with flowers as the night comes on. The server we had was very attentive and even offered to charge my mom the Early Bird pricing on her dinner because it was just past the time when that ends. She had Seafood Pot Pie and I had the Tuna Stack. We also had Shrimp Cocktail for an appetizer which came with good size shrimp and so many of them we couldn't even finish it. Our meals were very good and good sized. Almost too much food for us. Make sure that you take a peak inside the restaurant and bar and see the treehouse!

This is a really interesting place with the tree house lounge - worth going for a beverage. Three of us had dinner here and we all enjoyed our meal and the service was friendly and efficient. We ate fairly late so tables were available but it's very crowded earlier in the evening. Give the tree house a try while you wait.

My Wife and I passed thru town after seeing our CPA. It was after 1:00 pm and we had not seen the ocean so we drove to the barrier island; disappointed in that the area is so built up that no ocean view is possible unless you own ocean front property.
We saw this place and on our trip back-to the mainland decided to stop. They were busy but no wait. Lunch menu is small but well thought out; we ordered different sea food specials, both were well worth it.
My Wife and I noted that two tables near by that were seated after we were were served before us. Also noted they ordered burgers. Also noted that another near by table finished and left, dirty dishes were not removed before they left. We were almost finished with lunch when their server came back and cleared the table and reset. Surprised that the server had to clean and reset their own tables. How this affects sanitation is unknown.
Overall the food was good, not too noisy but no ocean view; we would return.

We had a table for 8 and expressed our desire for fun and food. The service was very, very slow with the server lacking in paying attention to a big group of chatty ladies. It took approximately 40 minutes before our food orde was taken and then another 40 minutes before our food arrived. I ordered the coconut shrimp appetizer and soup, the shrimp were over cooked, hard and dry as if they had sat under a warming light for a long time. Our server did have other large tables that he was quite attentive to that surrounded us and they received their food and drinks in a much more timely manner. I would not return to the restaurant due to poor service and food. I know this restaurant has been in business a very longtime, since my childhood. I'm so disappointed that I encouraged friends to join me there.

One of the worst restaurants we have encountered on any trip. We had gone to Norwoods in the past but not for at least two years. What a change and what a disappointment. Went for their lunch, early dinner specials. I ordered New England Clam Chowder and a house salad and my wife ordered one of their tuna lettuce wrap specials. Service was terrible, incorrect items initially delivered by a waitress who must have just started, she had no idea what we were talking about. When correct items were delivered they were terrible, soup was just warm with a salty taste you cannot describe served in a pretentious small metal (pewter) bowl. Wrong salad dressing, tuna wraps had no taste at all. No follow up after delivery. We had to wait for almost fifteen minutes before our waitress returned, she really did not comprehend what our complaints were. According to her, all customers complained about the soup and the tuna wraps. Waited another ten minutes to get our check returned and then ten more for it to be processed. Not busy at all. We would not recommend this place to anyone, AVOID AT ALL COST.

Let me first say that we did like the atmosphere with the treehouse, multi level design and patio with lighting. Other then that the experience was extremely disappointing. First, we waited over an hour to be seated. Then we waited and waited and waited for our food. An hour had passed and still no food. The waiter tells us they dropped my husbands hamburger on the floor so they were making all the food again. We continued to wait and I finally had to ask the waiter how much longer it would be. I would like to point out that nobody in management ever came out to apologize. When we finally got the food my husband said his hamburger tasted like box meat. My grilled shrimp and mashed sweet potatoes were good. This dining experience took 3 hours!!! We went to the restaurant at 6 pm and left at 9 pm which then completely ruined our plan to go to the beach afterwards.

Norwoods was neat on the outside but their food left much to be desired. Service was pretty attentive on the bright side. Ordered the fried pickles appetizer and I do not recommend as they are served as a pickled cucumber (not very dill flavored) cut lengthwise which made the batter fall off with each bite. Next up was a tasty side salad; no complaints. Dinner was the chefs special truffle man n cheese and it was unfortunately served soupy when it should have been cheesy. They barely drained the noodles before adding the cheese. I rather like my Mac n cheese thick and gooey and Norwoods certainly failed there. Minimal cocktail options but lots of overpriced wine. Specials on drinks are only available to those sitting outside (strange rule).
Will not be returning and would recommend selecting a different restaurant all together.

First and most likely, last time. Cute concept ie treehouse type dining, but the bees also love the idea. :) I don't fault the bees, they're just living their life in a tree, but they need to be moved.
OK, Thanksgiving Day. What a disaster. I cancelled another reservation in town because it was $50 pp, but I guess you get what you pay for.
I requested dark meat {turkey} and the waiter tells me they're only serving white meat. I asked if they cooked whole turkeys and he said they did but the dark meat was being used for something else. Plate arrives, it is very clearly white pressed turkey breast that tastes and looks like fake meat. Gross. Second bite in, I cut into it and see a black curly hair - appetite gone. There was one teeny scoop of mashed potatoes and the veges were clearly frozen. So, waiter lied - which insulted my intelligence - that in itself is enough for me to not return.
Thank goodness I ordered a fish dip appetizer or I would have left absolutely starving.
Of course my meal was comped but seriously ... what a horrible experience. Now I know why after all of these years, I'd never eaten there. :(

Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review. I'm sorry you didn't enjoy your turkey dinner -- it sounds like there were a few different reasons you didn't have a great experience at our restaurant and I'd like to apologize.. we did have a problem with bees at some of our outdoor seating on Thanksgiving day, and we've taken steps to address that already so the issue has subsided. Sorry for the inconvenience there. As for the turkey dinner, we do have a special menu on Thanksgiving that includes white meat turkey breast and we had a great response but I appreciate your feedback so we can improve in the future. I hope you'll give us another chance to impress you with our full menu that we offer every day including steaks, pastas, fresh seafood, chicken, and great appetizers. Please feel free to give us a call to be added to our priority seating list if you would like to let us make it up to you.

Upstairs with reservations for 5 at 5:30 on 6/17. Not all servers were wearing masks, very crowded down stairs to a crowded ladies room. No masks. No social distancing enforced. . Waiting to go up and down stairs was very crowded and servers used stairs not elevators to bring up food. This am on 6/18 notice that Norwoods is closed because of covid19 from server. We were present when possible virus was there along with a packed to capacity crowd and not all servers and hostesses wore masks. Now my family has to quarantine by a message on their FB page.

Ended up at Norwood when our favorite place in all of central Florida down the street was over packed. I've heard good things about Norwood but it didn't live up to expectations. We asked for a booth since the outdoor area was going to be a long wait. We were taken to a dark corner on the back side of the place with nothing to look at but outdated furnishings and wood walls. Our server Jamie did a fair job and was friendly. I ordered snow crab and it was well prepared and tasted good, the vegetable mix and garlic potato mash was just ok. My husband liked his grouper but it was hidden under a ton of Italian sauce and onions and smashed potatoes. If they want to compete with their neighbor restaurant they need to revamp the whole place and upgrade their menu.

We were super excited to eat here, but the whole experience was a disappointment. The tables weren't clean and the wait staff was inattentive. It took forever to be greeted, longer to get our drinks, and even longer before we could order our food.
We were fooled by the posting of gluten free options on their menu into thinking this restaurant is allergy-friendly. It really isn't. My mom's allergy order was delivered wrong twice, the server seemed clueless regarding allergens, and there is a clear breakdown in communication between the kitchen and the front of house. The GF options are more about omission than substitution.
My steak was ordered medium but arrived well done, and half of the food at our table arrived cold. It took over 2 hours for our family of 6 to get through a one-course meal, which is really unfortunate when you are on vacation and you have small children.

We rode by on our way to another restaurant earlier this week. The treehouse was intriguing, so we decided to dine here for dinner. We checked in and thought we could get a drink at the treehouse bar. We were told by the bartender we had to check in. We were totally confused. We went back downstairs and got a drink there.
Our wait wasn’t that long, considering 50% capacity. Our appetizers were good. However, after having to get up and ASK the waiter for appetizer plates, we still didn’t get them.
There were four in our party. Two ordered grilled chicken Caesar salad and clam chowder. We sent the chowder back to be heated, and it was a LITTLE warmer. My husband had shrimp and grits, and they were good. My father had the ribeye with sweet potato. He got seasoned vegetables and the steak was lukewarm.
Since we had already sent the chowder back and had no luck with the appetizer plates, he didn’t send the steak back or mention the mixup on the wrong side.
Our waitress was training a server. Bless his heart, I hope this was his first night in training because he was having a hard time multi- tasking.
The food and service were average to say the least. Looked much cooler than it really was.

Unique dining experience! We chose to sit upstairs in the open table setting. They have outdoor heaters as well as a mobile a/c. Lots of lights handing in the trees so very pretty when the sun goes down.
Service was excellent and the food was delicious. We started with their fried dill pickles and they were delicious! Both our entrees were pasta and seafood: Scallop Alfredo and Seafood Linguini

We had heard good things about this restaurant so decided to try it out once they opened back up. We made a reservation to make sure we could get in with occupancy only at 25 % allowed right now. We had great servers who wore masks and we watched them thoroughly clean tables and chairs after guest left. They used throwaway menus. The food was GREAT. Parking is very ample for the restaurant and the view from outside was nice. We ate on the deck outside and even though the main street was right outside we felt cocooned into the area.

One of our all time favorite places. I usually have the Gumbo, as it is the best anywhere. My husband varies between the Scottish Salmon salad, and today tried the Meatloaf sandwich which he said was very good. And they let you trade the french fries for Cole Slaw, which some places won't let you do. This place has lots of outdoor seating, which is great, and dog friendly, which is usually great, except this young couple next to us had both their two unruly children and a huge Dalmation, as well as a young Golden Retreiver. The dogs kept barking and jumping on the furniture. It was crazy. Between their kids yelling and their dogs barking, you could hardly carry on a conversation. The servers tried to keep the dogs busy eating treats to keep them from barking and leaping around.
