Had a lovely lunch there on 2-3-24. The food was so good and authentic. First we had Classic Mojitos. There were very, very good. They were not overly sweet like some places. The ham croquettes were excellent. My husband had the Gambas Ajillo and I...had the Bistec Palomillo. Both were very generous and accurately prepared. The steak was so tender I def not need the steak knife. The black beans were wonderful as well as the Plátanas maduras. The prices were very reasonable and service was excellent. The place was packed due to the Art show but the staff were friendly and attentive. We will be back!!!!More

We have been to that place for many Years , we always had a great time, until that the owner's daughter treated us with a lot of rudeness and it was totally unnecessary. That woman has no education very unprofessional It was a very unpleasant...experience because of her.More

Do not recommend. As a Cuban, this isn't to par as to what Cuban food should taste like. Everything was unfortunately lacking lots of flavor and just wasn't it for us. The drink specials were good but the drinks were not- margarita tasted like the...mix and the draft beer didn't taste like what it should. Overall were very disappointed with out experience here.More

My friend and I had lunch after a boat ride on Mount Dora Lake & Canal. I loved my food: cheeseburger and onion rings. My friend had a pulled pork sandwich which was dry and didn't have hardly any meat. My burger was thick! The...service on the other hand was not good. Once our waitress took our order & delivered it we didn't see her. I had to go tell the hostess that we needed napkins and silverware. Again when it was time to pay, no waitress.More

Last minute lunch stop after a meeting. Nice outside seating area and good service. We were brought some complimentary pan (bread) with two dipping sauces. The pink sauce was spicy but nothing overwhelming. The green one was good enough to dip tostones into later on....I just got the regular Cuban sandwich with tostones instead of fries. The sandwich was good but I found the pork slightly under seasoned for my taste, but not bad by any means. Definitely worth coming back and maybe exploring the menu a bit more.More

We took a pit stop in Mount Dora on our way back to DeLand, and had asked a couple locals where to go. This place came highly recommended by everyone, and they weren't lying! This ended up being one of the most fantastic meals we...had our entire week-long stay. Their mojitos were not only huge, but fresh tasting and refreshing. We split their appetizer platter because we couldn't decide between all of the yummy options- our favorites were the empanadas and the tamale. We then split a chicken dish with rice, beans, plantains, and tomatoes. It was phenomenal. Our eyes were bigger than our stomachs, but I'll be dreaming of this meal for a long time! Don't skip this spot!More

Not the hottest spot north of Havana, but it's a fine place to stop for lunch and drinks. Tucked away in an alley in the quaint downtown area of Mount Dora, it's a good place for drinks and authentic Cuban food. Love the music, too....Delicioso! (Are you humming a Barry Manilow tune?)More

First off, wait staff were kind and service was good. 5 stars! Wish the food was what was advertised….arroz con pollo was essentially a pile of yellow rice, little chicken, NO green olives and maybe a quarter size of red pepper. Cuban sandwich was ok…...nothing special. Definitely hoping for better given the ratings. Draft beer selections = 2. Bud Lite and Amber Bock. 🙁More

I took my family here as a lover of Cuban food because of the reviews on this sight. Obviously it was an off night. The paella I ordered was supposed to have red peppers olives and chicken. I knew when it came out in less...than 10 minutes that it was not going to be a great. It was scooped yellow rice with chicken, nothing else. We ordered vaca frita which was so overcooked it was not edible. I thought my daughter was being dramatic because she spit it out after chewing for a minute. I chewed it and chewed but could not swallow it was so overdone. I sent it back to which the kitchens response was that’s how vaca frita is?? I’ve been eating it for 27years as one of my favorite foods so no, it’s not how it is. I knew better than to argue because if that’s the best they think they can do who am I to argue and we ordered something else which ended up being decent. To the restaurants credit the Vaca Frita was removed without me having to ask. When leaving I looked in the kitchen and they had plates of food ON top of other plates of food in the window. I’m just going to say that if you are the owner of the restaurant you should pop in and see how things are running. By the positive reviews I can’t imagine anyone in ownership was there tonight. The experience at least for us tonight was poor. It takes a lot for me to leave a negative review especially for a family ran, non chain restaurant but this was worthy of it.More

After being seated - we waited forever for the waiter, he finally came and took our drink order. After another long wait without water being delivered we received our drink order. The food was just okay nothing exceptional. There were three people in my party...and we asked for different checks. I was given the wrong debit card and my debit card was given to someone else in the restaurant and neither of us realized it until the next day. When I called the restaurant I had to wait forever on the phone for the manager he was very rude and didn't think it was a big deal that I had received someone else's debit card. Both cards were from the same bank so they looked alike and the bill was about the same amount is why it wasn't noticed until we both tried to use our cards the next day and realized there was a problem. The restaurant manager was so rude and said there was nothing he could do about it and when I asked him if he could comp my meal he replied No - that wasn't going to happen and hung up on me. I will never go back to this restaurant and would never recommend it. It was awful service, the atmosphere was terrible, the food was okay but the rudeness of the manager was the worst.More

Having grown up in Miami and retired now to central Florida this quickly became our favorite place to get our favorite dishes from back home. We had friends who warned us (used to be their favorite too) that it’s changed. We were in the area...today and decided to try for ourselves. They were right. The orange spicy sauce which I loved to slather on my food tasted like vinegar. My husbands Arroz con Pollo had no peppers, or olives as advertised and had in the past. Only chicken and rice, and flavorless. My pork chunks were on the dry side and didn’t seem to have any marinade flavoring. Same with the black beans. I’m so disappointed. The place was busy, so it must still be appealing to some. My server was pleasant and helpful. The best part of our meal.More
