The kids loved the ice cream and their milkshakes are great. Just steps from the beach and able seating nearby
Right on beach. Outside seating with a view of walkway and ocean. Nice respite from the heat. A little pricey, but good.
Imagine being charged $30 dollars for ice cream for you and your son. That is a meal!!! I was so disgusted I wanted to hand the cone back to the young lady and tell her I don't want this. I have had better ice cream...that didn't melt in 5 minutes, from Publix. I could have bought ice cream for two weeks or more at that cost. I was so mad I shared my cone with a friendly pigeon walking by me feet. I even said "here pigeon, want part of my $15 dollar cone?!!" My son's bowl of 3 scoops was $16. This is robbery.. if you like handing over your money.. then go here.More
$ 12.00 for a sloppy milkshake .... I don't think so.. The one I had tasted good however because they keep their ice cream soft it was not a thick creamy milkshake...never again.
I am from northern Michigan where Kilwin's originated. Perhaps I am spoiled and thus the disappointment with this particular location. I am used to paying around $5.00 for a Kilwin's ice cream cone. Imagine my surprise when I was charged $9.00 for a single dip...cone which was far short of a single dip. The ice cream was so soft, I was given a spoon to eat it out of the cone! I have had milk shakes that were thicker. I suppose I should have said "no, thanks" when I saw what I was getting but I felt sorry for the person waiting on me. There was nobody else in the store and this was during the coronavirus lockdown. That being said, I felt this was indeed price gouging. Seriously, $9.00 for an ice cream cone. Not anymore!More
Not sure why people frequent this ice cream emporium. The ice cream is far from the best around and definitely not creamy enough.
I have been to Kilwin's in Stuart, but we sightseeing in Lake Worth, it was hot, and yes, I couldn't resist. Very nice shop with ice cream and confections and plenty of shaded seating.outside, this is a great sweet treat. My favorite flavor is chocolate...caramel cashew. For fudge lovers, their fudge is also good and very smooth.More
The place is very neat.. and the location is great! It looks like a 50’s candy store (maybe, as I was not alive back then). The treats look yummy and the ice cream portions are pretty big. Unfortunately, some of the flavors did not taste...as good as you would expect. Some flavors were just as if you would have picked them out from a supermarket.More
Kilwins is a mom and pop confectionary shop that was founded in 1947 in Petoskey Michigan. Now the company operates 123 stores in 22 states. This Kilwins was located in downtown Lake Worth for 10 years on Lake Avenue. Last year a rent increase forced...a move and they are now in the historic Lake Worth Casino building on the beach. Owner Maria Matias may be sad about having to move but I think the new location is a better fit for them. What goes better than the beach and ice cream? Nothing! I came in after a stroll on the Lake Worth Pier. Around once a year I decide to have ice cream for dinner and this was that night. The thing that always hits you when you walk in to a Kilwins is the incredible smell of sugar. As I once heard a gentleman say "it doesn't smell to bad in here!" He was indeed correct. I would by a perfume of it if I could. The closest I have found is the vanilla scent from Bath & Body Works. Once your olfactory senses have been sufficiently primed it's time to shell out for the ridiculously overpriced confections. I got my staple of chocolate chip mint ice cream in a hand rolled waffle cone but you can also purchase chocolates and some entirely too tempting candy apples. My single scoop cone was $12! Watching the sun go down on the beach while sucking down delicious ice cream in the tropical Florida night, priceless.More
Many sweet treats to choose from at Kilwin's which has stores from Jupiter, Florida to Hollywood, Florida: housemade chocolates, fudge, caramels, toffees and brittles, taffy, sugar free candies, covered apples, popcorns, and their delicious ice cream. Although you could buy a couple of gallons of...supermarket ice cream for the price of a couple of double scoops at Kilwin's, the quality and taste are certainly pleasurable. Some of their flavor choices are not too common, and you get to sample them before you make your purchase. Candies are priced by the pound, some as much as almost $36.00 a pound, some less, but, again, quite good. Go and treat yourself--YOU'RE WORTH IT!More
The ice cream at Kilwin's is very good. However, it is expensive and over the years the portions have gotten smaller, and smaller, and smaller.
You are at the beach and it is hot! Get some great ice cream here! Pralines & Cream is nirvana for us southern folk. Fudge is pretty sick, too!
My wife is a big fan of Kilwins. They have a large selection of flavors and they are all great. Kilwins is also a candy store where they make almost everything they sell.
Yes, I eat a lot of Kilwin's ice cream and chocolate. The ice cream, fudge, whipped cream, everything, is the best of the best. Just fantastic ice cream. Great chocolates; quality, variety. You can buy jars of fudge from different parts of the world that...are truly fantastic. The young ladies always working there are just lovely people. I would have rated it excellent except for one thing: The prices have become ridiculous. Yes, not just too high: ridiculous. It has literally kept me from returning as often as I would. It is just insane. If you know that going in, you'll be fine. If you don't, you'll drop your ice cream cone.More
