What a spot for dinner (or any meal!) in Miami! And the food was fabulous. I got the burrata salad (yum!) and my daughter and husband had the calamari and said it was the best they ever had! The steak was great as were the...50/50 potatoes ( which are a la carte but worth it! Otherwise you just have steak alone. We ate outside , on the water , it was a fabulous evening!More

Overrated from any angle. Location is great, looking at the Miami sky line, but that is literally all that is good. Difficult parking, needed valet at 10$ because of an event. Staff below average, everything took forever although it was not busy in the restaurant....Asked for a table in the shade, not possible, though a number of guests that arrived after us, got one, or got a table with umbrella. Food below average too. My advise, go somewhere else.More

Our waitress, Lala, was the only truly enjoyable part of our evening. The view would have been great had the window been clean. It was was very, very loud, and we had to shout to hear each other. The food was not hot and had...to be sent back, twice, and even then was still not much warmer. Unfortunate attempt at a “Miami vibe”. Could be a great place. Will not be back.More

After superb first visit a few years ago we were looking forward to our visit this week but unfortunately we left disappointed. The views and staff service were still great, but the food wasn't. Starters were OK but the main courses were really poor, one...tasted terrible and the the scallops in the other were badly overcooked - the table next to us had the same issue and also left one of their main courses uneaten, so it wasn't just us. With the high prices being charged for very average food the value is poor. We are so sorry to be leaving this bad review but it's an honest one.More

This place was a great place to get quality food. The food last night was average at its best. We went with a group of ten people of different ages. Our waitress was spread thin and the poor woman had too many tables to tend....Several people complained their drinks came without alcohol. The place had become a tourist only destination.More

"I'm so sorry to have bothered you." That's what I wanted to say to the valet, the hostess, and the waitress. My kind wife reminded me to be polite and to go high, so I smiled and said, "Thank You" way too often in return...for the snarky disregard we got. 1) Valet: "Do you want to be parked in the premier lot or the back lot (costs less)?" "Regular lot is fine, if self-park isn't available." "It's not." "Okay - regular. Thanks." 2) Walking up to the hostess: "Hi, we have a reservation for supper - we're 20 minutes early - can we wait in the bar?" "Your table isn't ready." [*It was 4:40pm on a Saturday. The bar seats were full - no other options. We waited, awkwardly, in the front lobby - no welcome, no accommodation, no apology or hurry, no "Can we bring you a drink while you wait?". One would have thought we were interrupting or not dressed right or something. Flat disregard and complete disinterest from the front desk. 3) Waitress: She was the nicest by far, but we had to flag her down 2-3 times mid-meal when we were clearly ready for fresh drinks, the plates were clearly done, it was time for dessert offers. Really felt like we were bothering everybody. SIX expensive drinks, two pricey main courses, one 'okay' dessert: $250. A smile would have been nice. Or, "thanks so much for coming in." Or even, "Gosh, we're under-staffed / extra-busy, thanks so much for your patience." - Again, waitress was the nicest of the bunch. She had several tables. Finally got out of there. Valet charge for the regular lot = $9(!). I've eaten here since the mid-1970's when I was a kid -- had my 9th birthday celebration there - great memories. Why the attitude now? The view of Biscayne Bay is truly amazing, the food is impressive-looking and okay-tasting. I just wanted to apologize for bothering them. The place is a cool Miami standard, but I won't be racing back to bother them any time soon.More

Fantastic views of Biscayne Bay, Miami, and Miami Beach. So much fun watching the yachts go by. We had crab cake appetizers, very light and tasty, Ceaser salad and the fried chicken on a waffle, which was fantastic.

The view of Miami from the restaurant’s terrace is beautiful on a cloudless sunny February afternoon. The cocktails are delicious but overpriced (double). Bottomless mimosas to El Mariachi cocktail made with Mezcal and other ingredients. Really good. My son’s mini burgers tasted good, but the...fries were not hot. The grilled octopus also was good with potatoes, pesto and octopus ink. The main dish for two people was a board of salad, one lobster tail, steak, 2 pieces fried chicken, 2 poached eggs, 2 waffles, 2 watermelon wedges. The lobster tail was a bit rubbery, the steak not as tender as expected, the eggs were good as well as ¼ fried chicken. The server was good but service is slow going. Luckily the atmosphere compensated for the delayed kitchen. It was at least a 2 hours dining experience.More

Amazing view of the city and the bay from the terrace. Could be a nice restaurant but is not. The spot is beautiful, we like it a lot! The food was ok but below expectations. As always, the people’s are making the difference. Our group...of five, one child and four adults, experienced an unreasonable wait of over two hours for our food. While I'm generally understanding of issues, the situation here was poorly handled, leading us to leave the establishment. Do I recommend the place … not so sure … taking in consideration the huge number of restaurants on the area.More

𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰: 𝐑𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐲 𝐏𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧, 𝐓𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐚, 𝐅𝐋 -- Nestled along the shores of Tampa Bay, the Rusty Pelican stands as a culinary oasis offering a delightful blend of exquisite cuisine, breathtaking views, and a sophisticated ambiance. During my recent visit, I discovered that this iconic waterfront restaurant...lives up to its reputation as a premier dining destination. -- Rusty Pelican has solidified its status as a local staple over the years, and after my recent visit, it's abundantly clear why this establishment has stood the test of time. It boasts a perfect blend of exquisite cuisine, breathtaking views, and a sophisticated ambiance. -- Michael Glinter has traveled to 68 countries and 36 states to get the flavor of some amazing foods. His view on reviews is simple – Taste, Presentation, and Service. He believes telling the reader a positive and negative unbiased look at the restaurant is essential. Let's take a look and see how Sacred Pepper scored in these three categories. -- 𝐀𝐦𝐛𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 What makes Rusty Pelican a favorite to me (as a former photographer) is that it's the perfect venue to host your most cherished events with an amazing backdrop for weddings, receptions, dinner parties, private events, and timeless experiences. The moment you walk up to the restaurant, you are greeted with a carefully curated story-telling experience. It's a work of art designed with meticulous attention to detail, including the outside entry with a beautiful fireplace and the inside lobby adorned with modern and past history architecture and subtle lighting, which beckons patrons with an air of anticipation. It indeed provides the EXPERIENCE anyone could look for. -- 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞 The service staff demonstrated a remarkable balance between efficiency and warmth. Our waitress was very attentive, making sure every interaction was conducted with a high level of professionalism. Timing is often the key to a flawless dining experience, and this restaurant mastered this aspect with finesse. I think everyone hates it when the food comes out too quickly, and surely, they made sure everything was timed to perfection. -- 𝐓𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞 / 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 Presentation - top-notch. The food presentation is elevated to a level of sheer brilliance from the first glance to the last bite; every dish at this restaurant is perfectly plated and presented. However, we know food that looks good doesn't always taste good. This is where the restaurant fell short. -- Onion Soup - The initial presentation of the French Onion Soup was enticing – a bubbling bowl of melted cheese crowned with a golden-brown crust promised a delightful, comforting experience. However, the first spoonful revealed an unmistakable and overwhelming saltiness that eclipsed the nuanced flavors one would expect in this traditional dish. Maybe I'm spoiled, as I have sat with a Michelin-starred chef who truly presented the best onion soup I have ever had from the best recipe – thanks Grandma. The most important thing about all dishes is focusing on the showcase ingredient – in this case, onion. Every bite should be focused on the onion. The key mistake I see most chefs make is that they don't consider the natural salt flavors that come with the broth, onion, and especially the cheese. Salt – you should always be conservative. I have dined with many chefs who even try to counter the salt effect of ingredients within the dish. Salt is NOT your friend when you present a dish, and it's a friend for the consumer if they want more. -- Broccolini & Crispy Tofu – Another amazing presentation, but the taste made me sour. The dish is described as a Soy Honey Glazed Tofu, Ginger broccoli puree, roasted red peppers, and toasted sunflower seeds. What did I taste? The entire time was sodium. Here's where the chef misfired. Less is More. At the bottom of the dish, there was a POOL of soy sauce. That tells me they doused everything with soy. Soy is an excellent complimentary flavor. It would have landed if they had used soy and honey JUST to glaze the Tofu and maybe used a more balanced sauce with the rest of the dish. While I expected some salt flavoring from the soy, I couldn't taste the ginger puree, red peppers or the "toasted" sunflower seeds. In fact – I couldn't find the seeds. -- Overall, my dishes didn't scare me away. I still think they were presented well and cooked well. Just the wrong flavor profile. I have had other dishes at this restaurant, which were all up to par. Besides, the view almost makes you forget about the bad taste. It's still a true gem that deserves every accolade it receives—a genuine five-star experience that leaves a lasting impression. -- AND Yes. I took those photos.More
