My wife and have travelled to many countries. Since moving to Groveland, FL 8 years ago, Coyote Rojo has always been our “Favorite” restaurant ever. We have always compared the food taste and quality to Coyote Rojos. This is the place we always bring our friends and family to because the food quality and experience has never let us down.
Our server “Juan J” was very attentive with our drink and food order. The chips are thick as well as the salsa are home made and very high quality.
The Supreme Fajitas with shrimp, beef and chicken as well as the Chicken Fajitas are to die for and the drinks are very reasonably priced and very large. The food proportions are large and you will have leftovers to enjoy at home. It is nice to see business picking up after Covid and it is great food quality, service, and value of the meal are what makes this the “Best Restaurant” in Central Florida (Groveland, Clermont) area.

Having been coming to the US from the UK for around 40 years, we’ve been to our fair share of Mexican restaurants but have noticed that, in particular, Mexican food in Florida is different than in other States. And....Coyote Rojo is no exception in that both my wife’s Enchiladas and my Steak Fajitas could only be described as bland and the presentation of the food was nothing to write home about. The restaurant was very busy and obviously popular so they’re providing what their local customers must want but from our perspective the food needs to be spicier and not just slopped onto the plate!

Our server “Addison” was very attentive with our drink and food order. The chips are thick as well as the salsa is homemade and very high quality. The food proportions are large and you will have leftovers to enjoy at home. We are blessed to have such a fine restaurant in our area. Went in for lunch! Only 3 other tables occupied. Waited for 5-20 minutes. Asked waitress in spanish for "otra salsa muy caliente" and she didnt even know what this gringo was talking about. We tried the sampler appetizer and quite honestly everything was NOT good! Wings were dried out, tough and old. No cheese and very little toppings on nachos. Poor service, slow service! Don't think I will be returning. Actually went there to try cuz I had spoken with Jose' the owner at Webster flea market and he told me to stop in and try them out. Jose' was not there that day! He maybe it was Juan not Jose'. I know he likes his corn dogs!

Took a little time before our waiter made it to our table to take our order. Not the friendliest waiter and observing the other waitresses, they appeared more friendly and waited on the tables in a more timely manner than our gentleman. Salsa was pretty good. We all ordered something different. I ordered a supreme burrito. Seeing the description, I thought the burrito was going to have rice and beans inside with a bit of sour cream, pico, and guacamole on top or on the side and i ordered red sauce. There was hardly any sauce on top of the burrito their wording for what I was given, which I would have called it an enchilada at best. The rice was awful. No one at our table liked it. Nasty!!!! I made my own ‘supreme’ burrito by adding the beans with a smear of cheese, a table spoon of guacamole and sour cream on top of the ‘burrito’. I have frequented a lot of mexican restaurants and never received such a small supreme burrito. Normally they cover the entire plate and are chucked full of goodies and flavor. This was a huge disappointment. The other two meals at our table were good but were given a C plus to a B minus. I would not call the restaurant clean. It was okay. Tables were clean. The vertical blinds were gross. Tried not to look out the windows at the traffic of SR 50. Have no desire to return!!!! Prices are reasonable but there is a reason why…lack of flavor depending on what you order.

Had lunch there today. My server didn't wear a mask and kept calling me BOSS whenever he addressed me? The food was just okay...should have been hotter, both spice wise and temperature.
Don't see going back there anytime soon..nor any of their other locations if that's the best they can do?

I’ve never had Mexican food that I didn’t like, and this place is no exception. I’ve been here many times and ordered many things off the menu and I have enjoyed all of them. The prices are good, the staff is friendly, and no matter what you get I think that you will enjoy it.

This place was awful. Terrible food. Inedible salad. We met family for lunch here. Our food looked unappetizing. My taco salad was watery and nasty. We were meeting prior to visiting a dying relative so no one was in the mood to complain about the food.

The waitress went on break and forgot to have someone look after us. Terrible management to allow this. We had to contact other staff members, none of which seemed to care.

Food is OK, but the service sucks so badly that I will never return. Waitstaff is rude and ignore diners.

My husband and I had 2XX draft which was extremely cold - the way I like it - with the complimentary chips and salsa. I personally don't like cilantro, so the salsa was not to my liking - plus it was cold.
We shared the single portion chicken fajitas which was more than enough for two people, and ordered an extra rice. The fajitas were very tasty. We had A churro (you only get one long churro) which was stuffed with hazelnut - I think). While it was good, I prefer soft smaller churros -.the coffee was good.
Over all, I enjoyed the meal and the total experience.

We ate here at the Red Coyote II on a Friday evening for dinner. The restaurant is located in a nifty older building right on one of the main streets on a corner. There are interesting hand painted pictures on the air conditioning ducts in the ceiling with the corresponding word in Spanish - a great way to reinforce your Espanol vocabulary. The service was prompt and pleasant with all of the servers doing their jobs conscientiously. Food portions were pretty big so we split a meal. My wife thought the food was a little on the bland side but I was pleased. While I am no food expert, I would say the food is fairly authentic Mexican. If you are looking for a spotless, high class place, this is not for you. We found it to be fun and tasty. The place was busy but it has two decent size dining areas so there was no wait. Don't sit by the windows if you chill easily - the air conditioning was blowing hard and cold over there.
