Located on the top of Pine Island in what seems to be the end of the world, Capt'n Con's does have a little bit of a Key West feel. We were told that the current building was from 1904 and it sat on top of the old 1870 jail building. Located right on the water, we had a great view of it and the fishing pier from the window of the bar section. We loved the bar dining area and there is a larger dining area as well as outside patio dining. My oyster sandwich was great with the oysters cooked perfectly and the Key Lime pie was fantastic. My son liked his chicken tenders and we were loaded with very good fries. Our waitress was exceptional, answering all of our questions and giving us some local insight. This place has a perfect casual comfortable atmosphere, a large reasonably priced menu with great food. There is also a small gift shop right thru the bar area with local crafts, jellies, shirts etc.. We would most certainly stop back here if in the area again.

Amid the rising tensions over the spread of the Corona Virus, restaurant owners have closed off their dinning areas and provide a take out service only. Taking the ride to Pine Island, Bokeelia is it's northern point. This restaurant lies across from the fishing pier. Coming up to the door we saw the menu and the cashier, Rachel, came out to take our selections. It was just a 10 minute wait and the food was bagged up, still piping hot. My wife and I took it and ate in our car. It was wonderful and filling. Hopefully, we'll be able to return to this establishment when the current worldwide situation is over.

Super cute place with outside seating. Not super great for parties over 6 (you just have to wait a bit longer to be seated). Diners in our party raved over the seafood chowder- enjoyed the kids two piece fish basket (large serving and great taste)- coconut shrimp was great and came with a super sweet caramel like dipping sauce! Wish we would have saved room for dessert as they offer a variety of home made pies! After dinner, stroll out to the pier and watch the fisherman reel in their catch!

Stopped by for a quick lunch after a morning of bicycling the island. We were seated promptly with a nice outside view of the water. We attempted to order flounder and shrimp from the lunch menu. Waitress returned to our table and informed us they had no flounder but would replace flounder with swai fish?? I quickly looked up swai fish online and discovered it was from the Mekong River in Thailand and there were several websites recommending to not eat the fish because of the water pollution. We asked the waitress to substitute all shrimp in place of the flounder. She quickly returned to our table and said that was not possible. We had already decided we were not eating swai fish so we chose a shrimp basket with fries instead. The food arrived quickly with the shrimp overcooked and tough. The fries were more like mashed potatoes, soft and mushy, than French fries. The two positives I took away from this experience was the nice view of the water and the service of our waitress. She tried to please but was overruled by management. Food was horrible! Recommendations would be to pack a snack or picnic lunch, sit beside the water and enjoy the view.

This is a great location and a cool old building but the staff and food behave more like a crappy old diner. The staff was rude, bothered that we asked where the bathroom was and couldn’t recommend any of the food. The waitress told us most fish comes pre battered unless you get the fresh special. We had the clam and seafood chowder. They were ok. The side salad was the best part of the meal. The list of pie was exciting but the pie itself was just ok. The food was overall just ok but the staff made the experience miserable. Too bad since the pier access the road is amazing.

We were taken here by friends of ours while we were vacationing in Sanibel. First, they ordered fried mushrooms. These are the BEST mushrooms I have ever eaten. I am always on the hunt for a good battered mushroom and they nailed it here! They are large and the app is share able. Then came the fish. I believe it is Friday and Saturday nights they have all you can eat fish and shrimp. Amazing, tasty, yum fish and shrimp. These are two different orders, one or the other. Priced reasonably. They also came with salad and potato.

We are visiting from the midwest where Covid rules are very strict and so were shocked when none of the staff were wearing masks. They seemed to scorn us for wearing masks and being concerned. I found it odd as all of the staff were over 65 which is the age of concern regarding Covid. Our server was borderline rude. I thought everything was overpriced considering the ambiance and level of service. $7 for a 4 ounce glass of substandard house wine (only thing available), $10 for a bowl of chowder and $15 for a fish sandwich with no sides. We did not feel welcome and left as soon as we could. Will never go back.

Came to eat later then lunchtime more like late afternoon. Trying the stay COvid safe. Con’s have 2 rooms. One was packed because it was warmer while the other, call it porch, was cooler and tables further spaced apart. As everyone does the seafood chowder was terrific. Next time I’m going to try their clam chowder. Fish baskets is for big appetites so we ordered 3pcs of lightly fried fish. Next time we going to save room and try their homemade fruit pies. 45mins to Bokeelia from the Interstate 75, ex# 143.

Came here in September with my son when he was investigating property and this time brought my wife to give her an idea of what we were talking about. I will skip all the history on this review and stick to the food. I went with the fried oyster sandwich again this time and it was again cooked perfectly, and skipped the basket to leave room for the pie. My wife 's chicken sandwich was a little dry and she also skipped the basket on my advice for the pie. They have an incredible selection of 14 pies and my Key Lime was as good as they come and my wife echoed that feeling with her Coconut cream pie. The sweet tea was great and plentiful in the 24z glasses they serve it in. Our waitress was a little gruff at 1st, but warmed up as the time went by. We sat in the dining area next to the bar and had a table for 2 window seating looking out to the pier. SKIP the basket of fries and slaw and get the PIE. Look forward to a return trip to Capt'n Con's

What a great foodie night! The perfect coastal experience to celebrate my birthday with great baskets of fresh fried shrimp, clams and crab and large coconut shrimp. On a great recommendation, our peanut butter pie was to die for!!! Never had it, so it was a real treat. Whipped cream..chocolate chips, and luscious filling. We got the whole thing and we are still enjoying it! Not overly sweet either.

Blackened mullet caught right off bay was cooked perfectly & generous serving. Loved window table with water view. Deenie is terrific server. She was right about the homemade Key West key lime pie - Yummy. Enjoy & take a walk around! Go next door for stunning artists co-op!!! Best place for gifts!

This is the second time that we have eaten there. We visited back in August 2020 when some friends took us here for dinner and knew that we would be back. We are currently building a house in Cape Coral and came to check on it. We brought our 7 year old grandson with us. He had the Swai and fell completely in love with it. He just couldn’t get enough of it and ate almost all of his children’s meal (which was plentiful). Our server was wonderful and took special care of him because he was so hungry I asked that the push his through and they did. WE couldn’t wait to get the fried mushrooms again! Whoa, I know this is a fish spot, but my gosh those mushrooms are amazing. The meals are very reasonable with specials every night of the week. My husband got the coconut shrimp and it was wonderful also. We will be back for sure, we can’t wait to move there and bring our out of town friends there also.

The food was god awful. Please don’t call yourself a Fish House and sell me a fish sandwich that is obviously frozen and the inside is mush. Even the grouper “special “ was terrible. The seafood chowder, also gross. They said it’s homemade but if that’s so, they need a new chef. Worst meal I’ve had in years. I barely ate it. Even the fries were blah. I rarely, if ever , give a negative review like this

Service was spot on and the food came out hot. Quite a choice of pies for dessert. The beef and gravy open face dinner with a baked potato was especially good. Nice size portions - A couple of us had leftovers. The waitstaff work hard to give you a great experience.

My husband and I were on an RV trip, staying on Pine Island, and decided to drive to the north end to see if he could do some fishing. While the weather was no conducive to fishing, I was able to get some great photographs of the area, and we had a delicious lunch at Capt'n Con's. My husband had a seafood chowder that was absolutely delicious - creamy, and full of all sorts of good seafood. We had a table overlooking the north end of the island and the fishing pier and enjoyed watching people come and go during our lunch. The service was prompt and friendly, the menu quite extensive, the food excellent, and the prices reasonable. There is a small gift shop attached to the restaurant where I found a lot of very unique handmade items, one of which - a pepper jam - I have ordered several additional jars on line.
