About
The Starboard Restaurant is Dewey's most famous venue for fun, great times, and tremendous service! It has been home-awayfrom-home for most Dewey Beach visitors over our 55+ year history. The Starboard truly holds a special place in more people's hearts than anyone could ever imagine! The Starboard was originally built and opened by Duke Duggan around 1960 and has gone through several changes over its years. Purchased and run by the Hearn family during the late 80's and early 90's, Chip Hearn grew The Starboard into a nationally known hot spot. Purchased by current owners Steve 'Monty' Montgomery and his partners in 1999, The Starboard's popularity is now off the charts as it has grown into

We tried the restaurant for both afternoon bites and breakfast and both were great. The menu has such great selections and the prices are reasonable for what you get. The service was very good. We will definitely return when we are next in the area!

Stopped here for Sunday breakfast and The Starboard did not disappoint. Granted the menu in winter is more limited, but there is always something to pique your palate. The Bloody Mary’s with bacon, string bean, carrot and celery were excellent. So was the Tree Hugger...omelette. Try the tater tots vs. the home fries for a change of pace. Our server, Mac, was one of best servers that we have had. He was attentive but not intrusive and made frequent checks to see if everything was to our liking. With COVID, it was great to see the safety precautions being taken. I highly recommend The Starboard to anyone looking for a reasonable, quality breakfast!More

We went to the Starboard for an early evening meal. The fall is a great time for us to go, as the crowd is a bit lighter and finding parking is not a problem. I enjoy trying different biers, and this was a great place...as they have an extensive selection of both local and national brews. There was even a chalkboard above the bar that listed the draft biers and the alcohol content of each brew. Our bartender had a wealth of knowledge of breweries, both local and national and recommended breweries as far North as Boston (Trillium in Seaport), Local breweries on the Eastern Shore (Cambridge) and as far south as Richmond. My wife ordered the sliders with tater tots and I had the Southwestern wrap, (chicken, cheddar cheese, buttermilk ranch, pico de Gallo sauce, served in sun-dried tomato tortilla wrap). We enjoyed our meals and recommended Starboard as a good spot to have a sandwich, with a nice selection of drinks. We can’t wait to try the Bloody Mary’s.More

One of my favorite things to order is the Bloody with bacon- yum, I hadn’t been here in 3 years, sat down & ordered fromour super nice waitress to tell us they don’t make that bloody after 2?! I don’t get that? Besides that, beers...& food was good & on point. We’ll go back, hope to make it In time for the bloody with bacon?!More

We went looking for breakfast on our first day and kept smelling food cooking. Took a few minutes to figure out it was coming from the Starboard. The breakfast skillets were wonderful and not overwhelming portions.

4 adults, 2 kids and a dog. Breakfast portions are huge, even kids meals. Food was fresh and came out fast. We had a dog, so had to sit by the road, so much road noise, get a table inward if able. Would recommend for...breakfast, delicious!More

We waited for a table for awhile and decided to go to their sister restaurant across the street- we had appetizers there and they were delicious. When we were seated here and ordered lunch - my husband and I split the burger...it was dry and...not very good. It’s a fun party atmosphere if that’s what your looking for.More

Food was good--we all had sandwiches, nothing fancy. The outdoor seating area was great (made us feel slightly better about our Covid risk).

During COVID took advantage of the carry out option for their Orange Crushes (vodka/OJ drinks on ice) to go. They also have a Grapefruit Crush. Perfect for beach days morning, noon or night.

I don't know if Starboard is a reservations kind of establishment. We went during a rather busy lunch time, without reservations. Seating was not a problem nor were we asked if we had reservations. They are very laidback. I... More
