I have eaten in excellent restaurants all over the world, and this one was so perfect in every way, we chose to have dinner at Off the Hook two nights in a row. My salad with a butternut squash smear under the veggies and brandied...cherries was divine. My friend liked her Caesar salad, too. The fish was fantastic. We saw an ad in our local weekly newspaper for off-season special of 1/2 price entries. . I had also saw online at ocean city.com specials for $7 fish and chips and 1/2 price pints. We went on a Thursday evening the 28th of December....For context- Christmas was Monday and New Years is 3 days in the other direction. I got the bill. No specials to be found. I asked the server ‘where is the 50% off special?’ She said it was a holiday and the special wasn’t running. As it was 3 days from any holiday I was completely confused. I asked to speak with the manager and she explained it’s considered a holiday week’ and there are no specials being run. I pointed out that the paper ad didn’t have any mention of black-out dates. She explained that it was ‘last week’s’ paper. No mention of the online information about specials. A good manager would have apologized for the situation and either corrected the bill or comped at least the appetizer instead of trying to justify their advertising shortcomings. As it turned out I ended up paying an additional $32 for 2 meals due to the lack of honoring their advertised specials. The misrepresentation on specials was preceded by one of us having a pretty average meal of Rigatoni featuring a crostini that had been drenched in oil and was so hard that I couldn’t cut it with a knife. We live in a beach resort area and local businesses have a widespread practice of offering off-season specials. This experience has left me not wanting to continue patronize this local business.More

I've been a loyal patron of this upscale coastal farm-to-table restaurant for quite some time, and it's consistently ranked among my top five local eateries. The off-season, which begins in early October, presents an excellent opportunity to savor their culinary creations at a 50% discount....On my most recent Wednesday happy hour visits, I've had the pleasure of experiencing their delightful offerings. My culinary journey invariably begins with their complimentary bread, accompanied by a tantalizing infused oil. During one visit, I ventured into the realm of seafood delights, opting for their happy hour shrimp tacos. To my delight, the tacos arrived in a trio, rather than the standard duo, for a very reasonable price of $14.25. I further customized my order by requesting blackened shrimp, a variation that the kitchen was more than happy to accommodate. To complement this seafood feast, I indulged in a draft nitro Evo Rise Up, a classic Caribbean-style stout infused with coffee and nitro-conditioned, for $8. Another memorable visit saw me revisit my favorite dish – the cioppino with lobster. Initially priced at $45, this culinary masterpiece was reduced to a mere $22.50 thanks to the off-season discount. Our collective discount reached an impressive $41, bringing our total bill for two to a remarkably low $100, excluding gratuity. My most recent cioppino experience, while still enjoyable, lacked the presence of lobster. This change was attributed to an update in their menu, which unfortunately eliminated the lobster component. As a result, the cioppino's menu price was adjusted from $45 to $42, further reduced to $21 with the off-season discount. While I still savored the cioppino's flavors, I couldn't help but miss the elevated experience of the lobster-infused version. Alongside my cioppino, I relished the Dewey Beer Co. Solar Eclipse 6% stout, a rich brew boasting sweet roasted malt notes, for $6. My total bill, sans gratuity, amounted to a very reasonable $80. A recent Wednesday happy hour outing brought me back to this culinary haven, this time with a group of friends. The chorizo in my cioppino, however, fell short of my expectations. Instead of being evenly distributed throughout the dish, it was clumped together in two large masses, depriving the dish of its chorizo essence. I suspect this change stems from a switch in chorizo suppliers, with the current iteration being of lesser quality and likely more cost-effective. Despite this cioppino misstep, our dining experience was far from disappointing. Our friend, celebrating his birthday, was treated to two delectable desserts, the pumpkin coco macaroon for $12 and the terrine for $10. While both desserts were delightful, the pumpkin coco macaroon emerged as my personal favorite. My total bill, including the two desserts, came to a very reasonable $124, excluding gratuity. The service at the bar, as always, was exceptional, with Kelly and Dennis providing their signature attentive and friendly demeanor. Consistency of service is a hallmark of this establishment, and while my recent cioppino experience was less than stellar, it did not diminish my overall appreciation for this restaurant. While my most recent cioppino was an improvement over my previous experience, I still yearn for the lobster-enhanced version and the sliced chorizo sausage that once graced the dish. I presume the current ground chorizo is a cost-saving measure, eliminating the need for staff to slice the chorizo sausage. Additionally, the flavor of the current chorizo falls short of its predecessor. I must add that this restaurant consistently serves the best burgers, always cooked to a perfect medium-rare, exactly as I prefer. Given the overall dining experience and the exceptional service, I remain a loyal patron of this establishment.More

Our group went here on one of the 1/2 price second season nights and it was a madhouse. Even though the entrees were 1/2 price, still pretty steep for the quality and amount you get. Wine prices as well were out of sight charging for...a glass what a bottle would cost retail. Charging $47 for a fillet is pretty outrageous and some of the other entree's regular prices are pretty steep. Understand this is a "resort" community, but let's be real, this organization seems to have really taken advantage of the "inflation" over the past year. Service was attentive even with the number of people that were there that evening.More

We go to Rehoboth annually and like trying different restaurants. Wife wanted seafood so did the Google search. Saw the high reviews and looked at their online menu. I’m not a seafood fanatic so the online menu showed they had a lobster roll and lobster...mac and cheese. Made the drive from Rehoboth and the menu was different than what was showing online. Pan seared scallops online came with Vermont cheddar grits but the menu we were given came with cous cous. Didn’t see any lobster roll or lobster mac and cheese on the menu. We decided to try the food anyway and I got the pork chop special and wife got the scallops. She enjoyed the scallops. The pork chop was ok but I have no idea what was on the plate next to the pork chop. There was some kind of red sauce, sliced tomatoes, croutons and some green stuff I’m not familiar with. Looked like a big clover leaf with a long stem. I highly doubt the cook tasted this before serving. I’m retired from the Army and I’ve eaten all kinds of food around the world, but I can honestly say this was inedible. Then had a little sticker shock when we were charged $34 for the pork chop. I have no problems paying good money for good food, unfortunately this place missed the mark and very doubtful we would return. Just wasn’t a pleasant experience.More

As you can see from my past reviews this is one of my top 5 favorites for Wednesday happy hour. I will summarize some of my most recent visits. I was here most recently with my family of six including two children for happy hour....We were seated at the high top in the corner of the restaurant. I started with my usual cosmo. We also shared and enjoyed the mussels for $15 and calamari for $14. As usual I enjoyed my blackened Mahi sammie for $15. Alyssa R. served our table very well despite the fact that we had two children. My total bill was $165 excluding gratuity. My family was here last year at this same table for happy hour. My family all enjoyed their second visit here for happy hour. The quality of the food and service are consistent here since we started coming here in 2021. We agreed we will continue to return here for happy hour. I returned here again to enjoy their new heavy menu covers instead of their usual paper thin menus. It seems they are trying to upgrade the ambience. I enjoyed the newest Burnish Beer Co. from Salisbury MD namely the Storm of the Bones coffee milk stout (7.5%) with coffee notes for $8. I love a good stout. My most recent visit was with my family of six including two children for happy hour dinner. We sat at their high top to the right, where they merged a table for two with a table for four together. I enjoyed my usual two cosmos. We shared the calamari and the focaccia bread. I also enjoyed the boom boom shrimp for $9. Lindsay C. served us very well. My total credit card bill was $130. We always enjoyed our happy hour dinner experience here. We never had a bad happy hour dinner experience here. We will continue to return here on a weekly basis especially on Wednesdays.More

My husband and I go to Off the hook quite often and always have an awesome meal until today. I ordered their bisque and it was very salty and barely warm. I asked for it to be reheated and it came back exactly the same....My wedge salad had bacon that looked more like jerky, overcooked and dry. There was a WAD of bacon that looked like a stone. My husband's chicken sandwich looked like it must have been made earlier and then refried . It was very dry and just plain ugly.
