Cook your own meats.

We walked in and were initially skeptical because it looks like a bar but there’s more to it! So you get salad bar and bread included but you do have to cook your own meat on the grill! We didn’t know this coming into it but it was actually very fun. There’s spices, sauce, and tongs. They also have cooking suggestions for how much time for each thing on the grill. Had a good time.

Unique and enjoyable dining experience!

Our experience at Mint Steak and Seafood was a unique and very enjoyable experience! Once you are seated, pick out the steak, chicken or seafood of your choosing. You can add sides such as baked potatoes etc, plus a salad bar and bread that you can season and toast on the grill. One of our favorite meals near Vail!

Fun, Tasty Steak Dinner

Been coming here for a long time, dating back to when my children were mot yet ten years old. Now I cone when in the area with my grandchildren. Good place for a steak … variety and I always gind my steak to be good quality and it cooks well on the hot gire/grill. There were 4 of us last night. Started with salad at the salad bar. Lots of fresh ingredients. Good blue cheese dressing. Two large NY strips and a medium NY strip, came after Texas toast grilled to a yummy, slightly charred, result. Steaks were great. The two large steaks had the perfect amount of fat, the medium steak was a little bit on the fatty side. Could’ve done a better job picking that out of the counter, I guess. French fries were very good. Baked potato was nice size and cooked nicely. Corn on the cob was also tasty. I had a Moscow Mule to store it was very good. Friendly server and other staff. It got crowded, and a bit noisy, but that’s part of the expectation and atmosphere and it’s fun to say hello to the other people cooking on the grill. Parking is easy in a garage a minute away.

Overpriced subpar meat.

Do not waste your time or money here! We went on a recommendation while on vacation and were sorely disappointed. I called to make a reservation when they opened and was told all reservations are full until 8pm. I asked if they did walk in and after a long (not sure) pause, she said yes but they were booked with large groups so they wouldn’t have any that night. We decided to try walking in as we were in the area and they told us they’d have a table for us in 45 minutes. We waited to eat here and saw one group of 6 come im just before we left (no other groups over 5). When it was our turn to go to the meat cabinet, we had to wait a while as no one was there. When someone finally showed up, she said there were “all the seasonings you could ever want at the grill.” We found pepper, garlic powder, lemon pepper, and season salt - not all we could ever want. No one had tended the coals recently so there was a hot spot that burned food, and cold spots that took ages to cook. When we got there, we didn’t realize that we had to stand at a large grill to cook our own overpriced steak. We were expecting grills at our table or hot stone plates to cook our meat. The strip was fatty and chewy, I’ve had sirloins that blow the steak at the Mint out of the water. VERY disappointed in our $175 meal for four people; could’ve bought higher quality meat to grill at our Condo for a fraction of the price (having to grill it at the Mint voided the reason we chose to go to a restaurant). Only positive is our waitress was pleasant and timely.

They were just about to close but Matt “Big Tuna” made an exception and we had a amazing steak dinner with cuts still fresh. The Dessert was the highlight for the kids. They stopped by at prompt times to refill drinks and make sure we were settling in. Will be back.

Great Experience, Quality Food, and Attentive Service

Our family of four had a great time. The negative comments on here are a mystery. We were greeted at the entrance by the bar manager and, as they were busy, he seated us and took our drink order. The bar manager returned a few times to chat and check in on us even after the server took over. The server was attentive and helpful. The food was great - a salad bar is rare in Silverthorne and the steaks were great. Cooking them ourselves made for great conversation. We'll come back on our next trip.

Always good - Family Friendly and Good Food!

I’ve been coming to this place since my son was five or six years old. He is 38 now. Likable staff, although sometimes the servers are fairly new and not particularly efficient in bringing the side items when you are done cooking your steak/protein. Excellent salad bar with nice variety. Making Texas toast on the grill with butter and garlic powder is a treat. I always think that the meat is good quality. Not too much fat, tender once cooked, and cooking on the grill is a lot of fun. Lots of seasonings. Side items are great particularly the twice baked potato and french fries. Broccoli always cooked well to. Third time to visit the men in a year, once last December, then, in September, and just now. Definitely a go to place in Silverthorne area.

Fun interactive steak experience

So this is a cook your own steak place. My wife first thought “I’m eating out, why would I cook” but we went for it and had a great time. You pick your own steak in the nice butcher cabinet, then pick from a decent array of butter, dry slices, and mop sauces, and cook on a big community grill while they prepare your sides. The grill was a big space where we met locals and a crowd from Florida and traded cooking advice. Staff all seemed to have worked there a long time and proud of what they did. Cool experience, I recommend it!

Don’t miss this restaurant!

Don’t miss this restaurant! It’s quaint, has a cool history and a fun staff. I particularly liked the fact that the owners, a man and wife team, were working as hostess, waiter and clearing tables. They were short handed that night, but making the cool experience happen for us. They have great sides and unbelievably great steaks, which we cooked ourselves on the grill with plenty of seasonings to help us cook it to our particular temperatures and taste. Again, don’t miss it!

Fun time around the grill.

This has been a favorite of ours for years. After a day on the slopes, it’s a fun place to gather around the grill and cook your own steak (or other options), mingling with people from all over the country. The food is very good, and the experience is always memorable. Save room for the Mint potato for dessert. It’s an ice cream dish made to look like a baked potato. It’s delicious, and easily serves 2 people.

Friendly, accommodating staff. Simple, but adequate salad bar. Nice choice of steaks and more that you pick out at the counter. Fun pretending to be a grill chef, and watching people that are clueless turn their steak 20+ times really tasty meat! Can make garlic toast on the grill too. Nice choice of sides. Good value in my opinion.

Don’t Waste Your Money!!

Made a reservation at 3:45 for 8:15 for my family of 7. When one of our family members became ill I called back at 6:05 to see about moving it to the following day, (two hours before our reservation) and spoke with Tom who proceeded to lecture me. Telling me “you’ve really inconvenienced me, I could have sold your table for tonight” then proceeded to say “gotta go” and HUNG UP on me. Didn’t even talk to me about reservations for the next day!! With all the restaurants nearby and the hundreds in the surrounding areas, go to one that actually wants your business.

This place was a nice change from the same old steakhouses. The owner greeted us and we were seated quickly without a reservation. We were able to cook our own steak with a plethora of available seasonings. Staff was pleasant and the food was great. A little pricey but well worth the experience!

A nice bar that wants to be a resturant

Everyone is friendly and one gets the sense that this is a local gathering place. However, unless you do not have any opportunity to cook on a grill, then this not the place for you. It looks like they removed the pool tables and installed a large indoor grill. There is an uninspired salad bar which is included in your meal. You choose what you want to grill and they cook the side dishes. While this can be a lot of fun; it may be more fun to grill at home rather than at a bar.

Amazing historical steak house

This grill-your-own steaks restaurant is awesome! Amanda, Jason, and Matt were amazing to us with all the history of the building! SO interesting! We even got a tour of the building, which is said to be the oldest in CO! Oh yeah, the food was amazing!!!! Lots of great steak cuts to choose from as well as seafood and chicken. Would love to meet Nancy and Tom, the owners of the restaurant, as they sound like they care deeply about their staff as well as their restaurant. Great experience - would definitely go back!!!!
