Opt for "Family" portions, dramatically cheaper option.

we have been to other Sauce locations, so we expected high prices. $30 pasta plates seems excessive, but opting for a "Family plate doubles the order size for only an incremental price increase. This location has a really cool bar and private dining yurts. Parking is a little tight but available. We enjoyed the "Family" sized salad - it fed 4 people easily. Chicken parm was good but not really note-worthy. $40 for family portion meant 2 servings of Chicken parm and a mountain of pasta plus sautéed green beans. Plenty of pasta and veggies for 2 but a little light on the protein. Meatballs were great. Cheaper option would be to opt for thier pizzas which are really well done.

We stopped in here at 6pm on a Wednesday without a reservation and were able to be seated immediately at the bar. It’s always a good sign when the place is packed! We split a bottle of Merlot ($45), a wild mushroom pizza ($27), the salmon ($33), and the sausage rigatoni ($23). The standout by far was the wild mushroom pizza- it was AMAZING. But everything was delicious, no duds amongst our choices. Our server was Caitlin, and she was great. We will definitely be back.

Can’t Miss Mountain Restaurant - Picture-Perfect Setting

We are staying in Keystone and are very fond of Italian food. Our favorite in our hometown of Kansas City is Garozzo’s and while here in Summit County, we love Giampietro’s in Breckenridge. On the suggestion of a friend, we were excited to try Sauce on the Blue. The “Blue” in the name refers to the Blue River which runs directly behind the restaurant. If you envision a mountain restaurant, you’ll likely envision something like Sauce on the Blue. High ceilings, large windows overlooking the Blue River and a two story liquor rack accessed by a ladder on a rail are the main features of the restaurant’s setting. This fabulous setting is only matched by the food. We ordered the Caprese Salad ($15) the Bruschetta ($14) and both types of spaghetti offered; the Spaghetti Margherita ($14) and the Spaghetti Marinara with Italian Sausage ($19). Everything was excellent and our waiter was efficient and friendly. Don’t miss this mountain culinary gem!

Sauce (on the Blue) is the Boss!!!

2nd time eating here in 2 years. We travel from CA and spend 14 days here in Summit Co. Although this year was about half that. So, we chose our dining out places carefully. Sauce has been great 2x in a row for us. Portions are large. A 4-person Family Style Bowl is perfect for our family of four people. The Rigatoni with Sausage is incredible! Something about their sauce. Bourbon list goes on for pages, literally. Wine list is curated perfectly. Our server was very good. The space is built out perfect. Very open and hip. Outside seating is next to the river. Would definitely return! Just wish they’d expand and make Sauce on the Beach in California! Or Sauce in the Vineyard.

Great grub after a long day in the road. Love that they offer family sized meals. Recommend a Supremo Pizza to share This was more than enough for two with a starter and salad. Had enough for lunch the next day.

Avoid for take-out

Dined in several times for a nice meal. Opted for take-out this time after a long day of skiing. Huge mistake. The quality was not the same, small portions and just a lackluster meal. Nothing in the bag but three boxes no bread, no Romano cheese for the entrees (it’s an Italian restaurant) is it because they wanted a full service tip for the Togo order which they asked me for when I placed my it? Hmmmm. I hope not.

Best restaurant in Summit County!

Absolutely fantastic dinner! Glen (or Glenn), Deb, and Emily were wonderfully friendly, caring, and skilled in the art of hospitality. See photos. Sitting in the Yurt was a unique, cozy, dining experience. The food? Memorable, really. Everything was fresh tasting, served at the proper temperature, well-plated, a good size portion, and delicious. Best pizza in Summit County! The ravioli was yummy, as was the minestrone soup. The Chicken Parmesan was a large portion, which was perfectly fried, and tender, with a great sauce. Highly recommend! Trout, which I tasted was light, caper-filled, and fresh. The green beans, as simple as green beans can be, were great. Key lime pie for dessert is a must have if you like Key lime pie. Thanks Glen for your kindness in taking my reservation at the last minute for seven of us and putting us in the Yurt, which was a memorable experience. Thanks Deb for your warm greeting on our arrival and seating us so promptly. And, big thanks to Emily who was the perfect server, with an engaging smile and personality, and a great sense of timing in terms of food delivery. This is my fifth or sixth trip to the Summit County area in the last four years. Hands-down this is the best restaurant in the area that I have eaten at during that time period. Three cheers to the entire staff … and I don’t want to overlook the chef and kitchen folks. Nicely done!

Great before the theatre or for lunch on the patio in the sun

This restaurant came into existence because of the need for fine dining, or just really great pizza, before the theatre… Lake Dillon (professional live) Theatre… which is almost next door. It never disappoints. Personally I get cravings for the eggplant tower, but others feel just as strongly about the truffle mushroom pizza topped with arugula. Meanwhile there are lots of other delicious things to try. Prices are reasonable, so you CAN show up just because you’re hungry. On a nice day (anything over 40 degrees with sunshine) the patio by the river beckons. It’s truly one of our favorite spots!

Great Cosmo but Bland Food

The most striking thing about eating here is the dramatic bar wall shelving. And the Cosmo. The food is bland and unbalanced. The meatballs tasted like nothing without the sauce. No scent of fresh basil. The Parmesan didn’t taste like real reggiano which I’d expect for the price of the dishes. We tried three different dishes and nothing was balanced right. Too much butter or cream or not enough salt. Desert was the same. Their lava cake is coated in whip cream and fudge sauce as opposed to a raspberry oculus that would contrast the rich sweetness of the cake. Service was excellent and ambiance good. You can hear you partner speaking easily. The prices are high. Fried artichoke with aioli is $15. Entrees upper twenties. A 9oz glass of wine is $20.

Hello, I appreciate your feedback, but am disappointed that you didn't enjoy your meals more. We've put a lot of time and effort into sculpting our dishes to perfection, and while there can always be minor inconsistencies since of our dishes are sauteed to order, that doesn't sound like the problem here. I hope that you'll come back and give us another try. Make sure that you mention your previous experience to your server so that they can help select dishes that will better align with your palate.

I have reviewed this place before after it opened, but we are *STILL* coming back a lot. For us the pastas are the key. Spicy red sauce seafood linguine, boglonese, etc. Always good. The wine choices are very well thought out and include many real gems. The bartenders are knowledgeable. I like the Pizzas, too. It is quite popular, so figure out your schedule, get a rez, or just show up mid afternoon. Great outdoor and Yurt dining options.

Incredible dining experience in Silverthorne

An absolutely incredible dining experience! Kailey, our server, greeted us with a smile and did not disappoint, despite already working a long day. Of course, she knows what she is doing since she has worked there for 10 years. Her tenure shows! Since it was our first time, she patiently guided us through the menu, recommending drinks, appetizers, and main entrees. We ordered adult beverages (so much to choose from), then two appetizers - tasty meatballs and the garlic cheese bread - plenty to share. We then were served a delicious spinach green salad (huge portion). Then came the entrees - all large portions that melted in our mouths! I had by far the best trout dinner I have ever ordered! The Chicken Marsala was incredible, and an enormous pasta dish. Save room for dessert. The chocolate lava cake is a must! I forgot to mention that everything came out very quickly, but I don’t know if that is normal. A very memorable dining experience. Thank you, Sauce on the Blue, and thank you, Kailey! Don’t forget to make a reservation! You will not regret!

Stopped off for lunch On our way back from Steamboat. So glad we did! My husband had the ravioli special of the day with the pesto sauce, and it was good, but I would definitely not get the mussels as an appetizer if so because it’s the same sauce - they’re both good though! I had shrimp vodka with penne and thought it was about as good as I’ve ever had. A beautiful location next to a stream and a comfy eating environment. Great service would definitely stop again and recommend

On vacation in Colorado and our first night in Silverthorne. Chose Sauce on the Blue for dinner after seeing they had lamb on the menu. (I'm a Brit now resident in Florida, where lamb is rarely on a restaurant menu). What a great choice we made. This restaurant is excellent. Great ambience, decor, service and the dishes were superb, and there is a great wine list to match . Loved the bar area with the ladder! (I am a bar owner myself and would love to re-create this in my establishment, but would have to raise the roof to do it -LOL). The service was exceptionally fast, seamless and efficient, (bearing in mind the place was full), which these days seems to be the exception rather than the rule. My wife and I had the Bruschetta followed by the Colorado Choice Lamb Sirloin and then just for the hell of it the seven layer chocolate cake which we are still snacking on 24 hours later! If I had one slightly negative comment it would be that the table we sat at was very close to our neighboring guests so it is pretty intimate, and getting in and out without nudging the other tables was a bit of a challenge, but nothing to stop me giving this place a 5 Star rating.

Pricy with only ok service

This a pretty place along the Blue River. There is inside and outside seating. For inside you need to make a reservation for outside it is a first come first serve. We arrived with no reservation but outside seating was just fine with us. We were seated immediately. We ordered an appetizer and a main course. The appetizer did not come until a few moments before the main course. This resulted was something being cold when it was time to eat. As both of us had fish, eating cold fish was not ideal so the appetizer had to wait. By the time we finished our fish we were not interested in eating cold appetizer. Our fish was very good but for the price we paid the service should have been better.

Our fond memories of Sauce On the Blue were crushed with our dinner experience today.

Sauce has been our favorite go to restaurant in Silverthorne for years. Today, sadly, we were beyond disappointed. The Chicken Marsala was unacceptable. The chicken breast was like a flavorless Costco thawed and cooked chicken breast. The gravy and mushrooms tasted like jar gravy and jar mushrooms from the grocery store shelf. The squash and zucchini were clearly from a frozen vegetable bag. So, so unfortunate.
