Being a regular returning visitor to Mati City, I visited this restaurant every time, but this time, I will end this tradition. It was the number 1 restaurant in the city, mostly because there were no other restaurants like this for tourists. Now, there are...more kinds of decent restaurants in the area, and Ciangi lost it. Long waiting time, bad service, and nothing special at Ciangi. Only the location (near boulevard) is a plus. The nearby food court offers nicer and more tasty food.More

Title says it all. Although food is delicious, the staff keeps forgetting orders and it takes too long to serve food to the point we waited for at least 50 minutes just for the appetizers to arrive

The place is cozy to dine & have a couple of drinks (coffee, wine or beer) but the toilet is worst than in a public terminals! Toilets reflects on the kitchen! You should invest on someone to clean it, like seriously!

I know ratings here are good. Place and ambiance is nice but their staff are somewhat lost maybe because they got a lot of customers. But, simply by asking them the price of the cake they could not answer. Order for a cup of coffee...was forgotten to be served. Their staff also do not have coordination in entertaining and serving. Hope they improve especially on how they answer their customers because the place is good.More

Ciangi is a popular restaurant in Mati, Davao Oriental located near the city baywalk area. Diners may choose to eat in the veranda to enjoy the view or inside the air-conditioned room where a flat-screen TV is installed. The restaurant is spacious and can accommodate...a lot of guests at one time. Food is definitely affordable in Ciangi. We ordered their famous chicken barbecue which costs P110 only and already comes with unlimited rice and iced tea.We also had grilled tuna buntot which cost P400 a piece and is good for 3-4 persons. Their chicken barbecue was good but fails in comparison to Nadies grilled chicken in Gensan and the chicken inasal of Chicken House in Bacolod. The meat was tough, the skin was burnt, and the flavor didn't penetrate well. I also didn't like the strong rosemary flavor of their marinade. What I liked more was the grilled tuna buntot because of its freshness and rich flavor even without any condiments. What Ciangi needs to improve on is their service. The waitress who attended to us was very young and doesn't seem to have any idea what their specialty dishes are. She also asked us what our orders were even though she still hasn't handed to us a copy of the menu. It took more than 30 mins for the two dishes to be served to us. There was also no guard in the restaurant so beggars and street vendors were constantly disturbing the diners.More

The place needs improvement in terms of service. The food are OK, we ate lunch and we were hungry so we opted for the ready to eat meals like a carenderia. In fairness the food taste good.

Food in this place is great. They have many ready to eat choices with prices ranging from 50 Pesos to 150 Pesos. If you prefer, they also have a menu that gives you more choices. They do have an ope air cottage over looking Pujada...Bay but the downside is it would take a long time for you to call on the waiters should you need some assistance. A great choice for big family.More

The open air resto is right in front of Mati City's famous Mati Park and Baywalk. It's owned by Michelle. The brewed coffee is excellent. The food is delicious. In the evenings, the place is abuzz with locals and visitors alike. The price is modest....The servings are big.More

The place is very relaxing along Baywalk, Mati City. The food is delicious and you must try the cakes - very mouth watering - that the former mayor of the city personally baked.

because Mati is one of the new tourist destinations in the region, the establishments especially resto should also level up with the different expectations and preferences of both local and foreign tourists. Had afternoon snack here with friends, and some got disappointed with the taste...of their food. This has to be taken seriously because the place has very strategic location.More

This past visit to Mati was the first, and will not be the last either. Beautiful, well taken care of city, with lovely traditional people. It had that untouched feel to it. As my friends and I entered the city we were eager to fill...our stomach. We had no idea where to go for a tasty bite to eat. We asked to separate people/ parties where to go and they both referred us to Ciangi. They did not steer us wrong. Everything we tried on all three occasions was quite nice. Keeping in mind we do always ask for minimal oil/salt and NO MSG. This makes all the difference eating at almost any restaurant here in Philippines, in my opinion. Service was average, portions were proper and the price was fair. The view was great, as it was right beside the 'B walk', along the beach front. I'll be back! Whether it is the best place to eat in Mati, is yet to be known. We felt Ciangi was good enough to go back for more.More
