A magnet for the city and college, it is often necessary to wait for a table at Lucille’s regardless of the week day. We must have won the lottery, or arrived between the early and late breakfast crows, to get a table upon our arrival. The restaurant has a quaint Nawlins’ style ambiance, with several small rooms with intimate seating, along with outdoor tables. Our order was taken about 10 minutes after being seated, and the breakfast selections arrived at the table within another 20 minutes. All of these were well worth the wait. The kitchen knows how to cook poached eggs, which arrived in a sumptuous Benedict sauce, and the red beans and meat also was spiced with the flavors of New Orleans. Grits? Yes, grits were chosen to accompany our meals although these lacked seasoning and were not velvety smooth with butter. To our surprise, though, is that our breakfast entrees were to have come with one of the restaurant’s famous biscuits. We ordered the biscuits first prior to ordering our breakfast meals and were charged separately for each of them, but didn’t receive another biscuit that accompanied our meals. So as not to be double charged for Lucille’s biscuits, you might want to wait until after you’ve ordered breakfast before asking to have the biscuits brought to the table. As many other travelers have noted, Lucilles’ is a go-to eatery for a sumptuous breakfast in Fort Collings.

My husbands family is from Louisiana and he takes me here for breakfast from time to time. I absolutely love this little place. It's super cozy. Outside patio is fun in the summer. It can get crowded (it's a popular spot). We always start with cafe au lait and beignets. The beignets are tender, soft and fluffy with an authentic generous portion of powdered sugar.

We have eaten breakfast at Lucile's in Fort Collins many times. The food is excellent, but the service is frequently so slow that it really detracts from the enjoyment of the meal. The servers are very nice and helpful, but when you order coffee, it is poured from a carafe and it is just barely warm. The servers never bring creamer with the coffee and by the time you get the creamer, the coffee is cold. The food always arrives just barely warm, but the server never brings butter or jam with the food and by the time it arrives, the delicious biscuit is cold and the food is cold. It is really a shame that these persistent problems have never been addressed.

This place is set in a former home, with a beautifully painted garden patio (too cold for us to eat there in Nov.). When we arrived we waited at a counter for awhile before being asked about a seat. We sat at the counter and ordered WAY too much food! We didn't need to eat again until dinner! Catherine P. was our server and made sure I had plenty of coffee refills. I ordered the rice pudding porridge which was very good. I also ordered a biscuit with strawberry rhubarb jam. The biscuits are made fresh and you can tell whoever is making them knows exactly what they're doing!
My daughters ordered the scrambled eggs with a biscuit and a side of gravy. I was surprised to see the gravy had a red hue, but you could taste it had a zip of spice! :) They also ordered the praline waffle and really liked it! We also shared an order of beignets, which were tasty - not Cafe du Monde level - but good!

I got the ham, sausage, and cheese omelet (I forget their fancy name for it). It was served with Cajun potatoes, which despite the colorful spices (probably paprika), were pretty bland but better with salt and pepper. When served, my plate had a pool of water at the bottom. I assume that condensed out from the potatoes. Once I got rid of that, the omelet was delicious. It came with a biscuit on the side, and I opted for the gravy to complement it. The biscuit with sausage gravy was the MVP of the meal. I've heard excellent things about Lucille's from a friend who used to live in FoCo. Overall I was underwhelmed, but I may give this place another shot next time I'm in FoCo.

Happened upon this place for a Tuesday mid morning brunch and it was absolutely fabulous! Every single item our table ordered was delicious! I can see why it is listed at the top for best rated restaurants in FoCo. Also, the beignets are a MUST and the service was great! My only complaint would be the odd pricing of a can of soda - my one can of diet coke was $4.35 which I found to be the most oddly highest price I've ever seen for a can of soda. I ordered two cans not knowing the price and I feel the waitress could have let that be known as that price for a can isn't simple over the top, it's complete price gouging and truly unnecessary for as great as this place is. Otherwise, the portions of food for the price and the cocktail prices were great; just don't order a soda can LOL

We have eaten at Lucille's in Fort Collins many times. It's a favorite. The food is delicious, the service is good, and the ambience is pleasant. There is just one problem. The food is always cold when served. My wife and I just don't care for cold fried eggs and cold coffee. How does the food get cold while being carried from the kitchen to a table 20 feet away from the kitchen? Please address this issue!

Speechless! What a gem for true Cajun! Fresh fantastic breakfast! I had the praline waffle, epic and so dang good, very large, you could share, which we did! Husband had the Cajun breakfast, best red beans and rice ever, poached eggs, the sauce OMG! Fresh squeezed OJ. Just perfect! Clean restrooms, busy, you will wait for epic food and service!

I have been to Lucille’s on the weekends multiple times and had fairly decent service. I went on a Friday recently (when it wasn’t even very busy) and had marginal service. I sat at the bar for a long time and finally had to ask for coffee. Later, I had to ask for more Chickory coffee and they said they had to brew it. So I waited quite a long time. Then I had to keep asking for a refill. One of the helpers brought my food over and I had to ask for my biscuit and beignet. On several occasions when I thanked the server she said absolutely nothing. No “Your Welcome!” or “You bet!” There was literally no interaction, customer service or people skills involved. I kind of felt sorry for her because I felt that she had not been properly trained.

Well I take that back — it’s not so hidden anymore lol! When I got there on a Sunday morning at 10:30 there was a line out the door and 20 people waiting in the front yard.
Super quaint ambience, and great food. Highly recommend!

You may wait over an hour for a table at this local gem, but every minute is worth the wait. Let's start with the beignets which are to die for. You cold make a meal out of just them, but you'd be missing out on so much more. The homemade fresh squeezed orange juice is great, Blackened salmon, Pain perdu(French toast) with the secret butter syrup sauce I asked to buy and was rebuffed, and eggs pontchartrain are all terrific. The service couldn't be better, friendly and efficient. Win win all around and a definite go to!

Mother's Day 2020. They don't answer the phone. Their online order system says pick up in 10 minutes so I ordered and paid. I've been in line an hour people getting food are reporting over two hours waits. Absolutely miserable experience. Chalk it up to COVID-19 trying to adapt, but they could do better. Picture is current wait after an hour in line

Beware of eating here. The food is fantastic but the portions are enormous. I detest wasting food but luckily I was offered a take home box. Two of us made another meal out of it. The homemade jams are fantastic-best I have ever eaten. The Orange Marmalade is world class-absolutely delicious. I have eaten three different breakfast entrees and each was beautifully prepared and served. Great staff-friendly and helpful.

I was disappointed. Eggs, grits, potatoes, donuts, biscuits, etc.
The setting is very nice, in an old home with tables out front on a quiet street as well. So if you want a nice setting for basic food, then this is a good choice. The Andouille sausage was very good...
