Wow, what a hidden gem. I’m so glad I made the 30 minute drive to pick up pies, sausage rolls and Apple turnovers for my birthday dinner. We were going to dine in but realized there’s very little seating. We bought cooked Guinness steak, lamb and rosemary, chicken and cheese and pork green chili. ALL of them were delicious. The service was 10/10. It’s really close to CSU and I bet it’s popular. We want to go back and get some for the freezer. Thanks WK! Keep it up. We’ll be back.

Really good small savory pies for a great price. If your looking for something filling, fast, and well priced, you can’t really go wrong. PS. Their profiterole is amazing.
Order: Lamb Rosemary Pie, Madras Chicken Curry Pie, Profiterole
About: $22
Review: I have very limited experience with Australian food so I was excited to try something pretty new to my palate. The Waltzing Kangaroo is a fairly small store with only six or so seats inside and a handful outside. Their menu is almost exclusively savory pies with just a few desserts, one of which was a profiterole that was absolutely unbelievable. Maybe one of the best I’ve ever had.
We grabbed the lamb and rosemary, and madras chicken curry pies and both were delicious. The lamb and rosemary was definitely a darker more rich pie while the madras chicken was a lighter almost creamy pie. We really love both of them though.
Another really big advantage is that the food is incredibly quick. All the pies are premade so they just pull them as you order and hand them to you as you check out. It’s super fast to get a very filling meal and honestly it’s not very expensive. One other very cool thing that they do, if you are local to the area, is that they have a large selection of frozen pies that you could take home and reheat at a later time. If I lived anywhere near here I would absolutely keep several in my freezer for days I don’t feel like cooking.
We both really enjoyed the Walton Kangaroo and the only reason we won’t be back soon is because we live in Florida. For anyone nearby I’d highly recommend it.

We love meat pies and we're thrilled to read about the Waltzing Kangaroo. We arrived at 6:45 pm....they closed at 7pm! Staff was gracious and explained about the pies available including how they were made in house with fresh ingredients on a daily basis. We bought 4...Guiness, steak & mushrooms, Steak & gravy, Chicken & cheese and Lamb & rosemary. All were delightful and delicious!

We were looking for a lunch idea when I ran across this one. It sounded very yummy, so we convinced my very finicky daughter to try it, I think it speaks volumes that she asked if we could stop by and pick up another. My wife and I had the lamb & rosemary pies while my daughter had the shepard's cottage pie and we were all simply amazed!

We went after the lunch rush and was immediately greeted by a helpful employee who explained the options for the various pies. They were a little doughy, but delicious nonetheless. No beer this trip...maybe next time.

Took some frozen pies home. Wow! No wonder this place is so busy. Really really good meat pies. Both lamb and beef. Great food. Too bad no gluten-free.

If you are looking for a change and a yummy snack just hop over to the Waltzing Kangaroo. This little shop has meat pies and pastries as well as a full service coffee counter. I’m going to work my way thru the pies ... they are delicious . There are a few tables if you want to sit and enjoy. Parking is decent as well.

I love meat pies and this place delivered. I was in FC for work and this was a recommendation from the team. I got the stroganoff pie and the side beet salad. It was delicious. Would definitely go back.

We stopped for dinner, after a recommendation. The place basically has a certain number of meat pies and rolls. We each had a different meat pie and found them to be excellent. There was a generous serving of meat and the flavor was rich. The fruit tart was outstanding and the chocolate pecan pie was average. We were there for a couple of hours and there was a steady flow of business. I can see parking being a bit of an issue. Certainly a solid option if you are looking for a good meat pie or roll.

Happy to hear that everyone enjoyed the pies! We try to have something for everyone in our selection. Highly recommend trying our mini pumpkin pie (around this month and November) and you can always check in each month to see which new pie of the month we’re serving up! This month it is Beef Stroganoff!

I stopped here because it sounded different than the usual type of food I eat. I was very happy I did. The buffalo pie I ate was delicious. My favorite part was the piece if custard dessert. Wow was it good. Highly recommend.

Although we have to drive over from Loveland, this is a favorite restaurant of ours. My wife and I both come away happy. The meat pies (chicken, lamb, etc.) with a variety of sauces are of ample size; each is tasty and the crust is to die for. Most recently I tried the chicken with green curry but have tried others there including lamb, and one was chicken with a white sauce. If you think I go there for the meat pies that would be true but I LOVE the desert options. Custard, crème puff in roll up, fruit salad in a mini-pie crust, chocolate? These goodies are all there. The place offers a variety of soft drinks. The dining is casual and friendly. I loved their products.

We appreciate you make the trip over to see us! If you ever want to take pies home with you, you can freeze them and reheat them no problem! Unfortunately it is not so with the desserts. You have to eat those right away ; )

I met a friend there for breakfast and was really impressed with the delicious food. I had never tasted authentic Australian food before and it was really good. The location is great for CSU students but it was a bit hard for me to find. I will definitely be heading back there again.
