We were in Denver this past weekend for a relative's wedding. Our contingent consisted of people from local denver, Hong Kong, Vancouver, Toronto, Boston, New York and ... Copenhagen! We all conclude that the dim sum served are truly authentic and very well made. It...is a very nice find.More

Great discovery. This was actually my first time to do dim sum. Had nary a clue as to how it worked. Extremely helpful and personable front end person explained the process, then made sure I enjoyed my lunch. She is the real deal, as is...the food. Had a couple of kinds of dumplings. All fresh, tasty, hot. A pleasant dining experience to say the least.More

Yes, it’s that good. Enjoyed the honey walnut shrimp. Lots of activity and authentic Chinese no matter what you order. Thank you!

The dim sum is pretty average here compared to Los Angeles or San Francisco. The dough on the dumplings is very thick. The soup dumplings had no soup in them (extremely dry and doughy). The dishes are mostly cold - chinese broccoli, noodles and duck....They sit out on an open cart l. The best item is the baked char su bao.More

This was our first Dim Sum experience for most people in our party. We knew we were in the right spot as the restaurant filled up with locals within an hour of opening. They filled our table with lots of amazing dumplings, buns, noodles and...rice. As newbies there were some hits and misses but we can't wait to try it again now that we know a little more. The service was great and they were helpful in trying to explain everything to us.More

First time having dim sum and it didn’t disappoint. They come around with carts with a lot of options. I would recommend not over ordering from the first one like we did. But everything was delicious. The only complaint was we didn’t have much of...a server so it took a while to get drinks and then we never saw someone after that for a refill.More

We had very good dim sum when we visited Colorado two years ago. We wanted to try their food again this time. We drove to this place directly from the airport, we arrived the restaurant after 2pm, it was still half full. The Dim Sum...was still good, it was worth the extra drive time to get here. After half way to finish our meal, we were told one item we ordered wasn't available, we ordered another two items. After we finished the food we got and we were full, we were told they were going to make the last item for us. we said then don't make the item, we are full. We got our bill, the two items we didn't get were still on the bill. This is a busy restaurant, they serve good dim sum. Based on two times I was there in two years, there were so many people there, I bet their other good was good well.More

Visiting Denver with the family and came across this rough cut gem. The house lobster special stole the show.. it reminded me of chili crab in Singapore. We also got the Orange Chicken. Cashew Chicken, and Pork with Spicy Garlic Sauce... accompanied by pan-seared dumplings,...egg rolls, and wonton soup. Everything was fresh and flavorful. Would definitely come back!More

I am a fan of dim sum. I can't say I am an expert or connoisseur but I do really like it. This place seems authentic and reminds me of places in Monterey Park in SoCal. The lines are crazy on the weekend. Even online...orders on Sunday have a two-hour wait (on average). Also, I usually just take out. Haven't dined in there.More

Having tried to eat here before but it was too busy so we left. This time it was a weekday at lunch and it wasn’t as hectic. My co-worker brought me to treat me to lunch. We hadn’t seen each other in a while so...it was nice to eat and talk. Decided on dim sum instead of the regular lunch menu. They have pictures with their menus which help if you’re not used to dim sum. The carts came quickly before we were ready so we had to send some away until we settled in. So many delicious dishes to select from. I saw one childhood dish and it turned out better than I thought. There were char siu pao dumplings, shrimp potstickers, sesame seed balls, congee broth, chicken feet among others. The lotus leaf rice was not as good as others I’ve had but it was still a tasty dish. The fried shrimp was delicious. Nicely seasoned and fried. I find that there were dishes I liked the preparation of and some I didn’t. But it’s a nice option for lunch.More

This is hands-down the best dim sum in the Denver area. If you come on Sunday be there when it opens at 10 or be prepared to wait an hour or more to eat. You can shorten your wait if you are willing to share...a table. The selection is impressive. Servers wander the restaurant with carts and you pick what you want they mark it in your check. At the end it gets totted up. The biggest worry is taking too much. A very easy thing to do.More

I came here for dinner, not dim sum. It's an authentic place where you can get things like beef with bitter melon. I got beef with ginger and scallions and we ordered an appetizer of steamed dumplings. The food was good, and the service fine...but the atmosphere was hectic and they've almost doubled the number of tables in the place since the last time I was here a few years ago so I felt pretty crammed in with people at adjoining tables. Our food arrived about 10 minutes after we ordered it, including the appetizer. This has been the pattern every time I've been here: appetizers arrive with the main dish and the mains arrive in minutes. So I wouldn't order anything as an appetizer that I'd want to savor by itself. Or just skip the appetizer altogether. The area around the restaurant has declined since my last visit. There's a nightclub next door with a sign, "no colors, no gangs" in the door, making me wonder about its clientele; one of the windows of the restaurant had been broken out and replaced with plywood; the parking lot was 100% full and we had to park on the street; and the cops were busting someone in the parking lot. Maybe none of this is significant but I can think of other authentic Chinese places in Denver that offer good food with a much more pleasant dining experience.More

Wonderful place to bring family and friends for a great dim sum meal. We went on a Sunday and they open at 10AM. We were in line by 9:30 and that was early enough to get in on the first seating. The place was clean,...the staff were quick and friendly. We loved the food. Been to many Chinese restaurants from Boston, New York, London, Beijing, Shanghai, Xian, etc. and I can honestly say Star Kitchen is great.More
