We ate for the first time at Juniper Valley Ranch after having heard how great it was. Based on this first visit, it is unlikely we will ever return. While the wait staff was courteous, the food was terrible, particularly the fried chicken. I've never had...More

Our meal was excellent, we were not disappointed with the fried chicken we had heard so much about. All the food was good and the atmosphere was great. We were the last reservation of the night and still, all the food was fresh and the...More

Our family favorite since the early 1960's. Consistently delicious! Great staff. Terrific location. Quaint older Adobe building steeped in charm. The drive from the Springs adds precious time to any family outing or a visit with out of town friends. The only downside is the...More

My craving for authentic traditional fried chicken has been satiated, at least for now. Another in my party shared a bite of chicken fried steak, that will be my next visit. The steak and chicken were delicious, as were the side dishes. The biscuits, the...More

I thought the food was excellent. However I was under the impression that this was served family style and that you could eat as much as you wanted...my mistake. The chicken was excellent, and I plan on going back.

Finally made it on a Friday night for the Chicken Fried Steak. It equaled if not bested the wonderful Fried Chicken. Add that to a relaxing setting and wonderful wait staff , and you have the perfect dining experience.

Served family style, I entire meal was fun and delicious. My wife ordered the chicken and I ordered the ham. Both were well cooked, but the chicken was exceptional. The riced potatoes and the okra casserole were very good. The gravy was exceptional. The cole...More

Great fried chicken joint in the heart of Colorado. Make sure you bring cash or check. But the rice potatoes and biscuits are to die for!

We have wanted to try this place for years and have never gotten around to it. Another couple said the same thing so we finally made it there after 30 plus years! First the atmosphere is about as cozy and homey as it gets. The...More

I had been wanting to eat here for about 2-3 years but never made reservations and finally we got lucky last minute. Not often do you see a successful restaurant in the middle of nowhere, so we were intrigued. The experience was very good, casual,...More

They are open on Friday Saturday Sunday up until Thanksgiving. Then they close and usually open up again around 1 April. I am not a part of this restaurant but that's just what I know or have heard.

Juniper Valley Ranch opened its doors in 1951 and serves authentic country dinners in a rustic adobe home. Dinners are served family style with a choice of fried chicken or baked ham (and chicken fried steak on Friday nights). Everything is made from scratch daily and meals include an appetizer and seasonal dessert. 4 Generations of the Parker family have ran the restaurant and in 2016 the establishment will celebrate its 65th year of operation. It is a favorite among locals and travelers alike and reservations are recommended by calling ahead.
