Expect frendly, fast service and great homestyle cooking here. Our table was filled quickly with freshly fried chicken and hearty sides. On Sundays they also offer Nashville-style chicken, and the staff is happy to bring more if you ask for it. The multiple low-ceilinged rooms...provide an authentic Old West feel while enjoying a filling family-style meal.More

Waitress Miranda saved the day (and a bad review!) We were seated promptly at the time of our reservation, but sat for 15 minutes before we were acknowledged again. In fact, we were gathering things to leave when she showed up and explained there was...some confusion on who was supposed to be taking care of us. Glad it worked out because it was our best meal in CO Springs. The skillet fried chicken reminded me of sitting at grandma's table when I was young. Definitely go if you have a chance!More

Some of the worst food my Wife and I have had in over 30 + years of being station in Colorado Springs. We were hoping that this places would good like some of the write ups said . To all my MILITARY brothers and sisters...just drive on by an go to Quincy's in Florence. It's a nice drive and the food is Superior to this place. We were so hoping for a new place to eat. If you like German food go to Uwes The woman that took care of us was very nice It's not her fault that the food is subpar. The chicken fried steak was so hot it made my wife sick to her stomach. If you are in Oklahoma or have being station in Oklahoma go to the Chuck House or the Del Rancho and you will know what we are talking about.More

I took the time (a waste of my time) to read the four (count them, a mere four) bad reviews. Frankly, I was stunned. I can only conclude these reviewers are simply not familiar with pan-fried chicken...the way grandmas on ranches in the American West...for generations have been making it). This technique is far different than the pressure-cooker, KFC-prepared "fried chicken" and, frankly is far and away superior IMO. I have quite literally been eating Juniper Valley fried chicken since the year they opened. Yep, I was 5 years old then. In the interceding 68 years, I have eaten a lot of fried chicken in a lot of venues, and as a true "expert" on pan-fried chicken I say without reservation this is the BEST I have ever had (apologies to my wife who makes wonderful fired chicken). The home-made gravy is exquisite, perfect. The ochra is wonderful (I do not like ochra). One cumudgeonly complaint that the curry "soup" was watery...to that person I say "PAY ATTENTION"...it is a consume', NOT a soup, and it tastes delightful. The coleslaw is a perfect accompaniment and I always have two servings. Price? VERY reasonable particularly considering this is "family style" and the refills never stop...you can eating until you explode...all for one small price. If that doesn't satisfy your stingy personality, then I suggest going only to Country Coral only for all future meals. Here's a clue to any of you doubters...Juniper Valley has been in business for SEVENTY YEARS! Hello? Perhaps that is adequate proof of the wonderful dinners they have served unchanged for SEVENTY YEARS. Yes, their fried chicken is the BEST I have ever eaten. I will continue to dine here until I cannot crawl into the restaurant...then I will order out the chicken dinners.More

We were camping at the campground just up the road. We stopped in without a reservation at 5 p.m. We didn't know reservations were required. They made an exception to seat our family at 7:30. They close at 8 pm. We took a drive and...upon returning at 7:30 were seated immediately. The staff was very friendly and kind. The Cheez-Its have historical significance. The cherry cider drink was sweet and refreshing. The meal was served in glass dishes and platters. The table setting was just lovely. My family loves the idea of fancy Sunday dinners, and after so many fast, on-the-go meals while camping this hot meal was thoroughly enjoyed. The fried chicken was fantastic. So was the chicken fried steak. Dessert is included, but the homemade pies costs extra. We were given dinner mints to feed the horses on property. The kids loved that! We were also handed a complimentary jar of their homemade apple butter as we exited. We left with full bellies, smiling faces and unique memories of the building, meal and the kindness extended to us from start to finish.More

I’d been wanting to try this place for some time. I heard that this was the best fried chicken in Colorado. I couldn’t drive by without stopping. Unfortunately, there was no available dining, but we were offered carry out. No problem we’ll just have a...picnic instead. Then we realized were not given utensils or napkins. Kind of hard to eat without them. Forty plus dollars for 2 chicken dinners for goodness sakes throw in some disposable cutlery and napkins. Your venue is 15 miles out of town! We were given a small serving of cherry cider in a plastic food container with four Cheez-Its on the side. The chicken was very small and the flavor was just ok. It felt like a bad value. The vegetable was a bizarre okra-type succotash with no flavor other than overwhelming pepper. Barely edible. The biscuits were dry, the potatoes were bland, and the coleslaw was underwhelming. The cinnamon applesauce, unlike the other sides, was delicious. The dessert, which was included, was the brownie pudding. It was uninspired but not terrible. Perhaps it would have been more enjoyable with a fork. I’d hope the dine-in experience is better. They seem to be living off there past reputation. I hope they re evaluate their operation as they need ramp up their quality to provide a good value.More

The restaurant is in an old adobe home, and the meal is served family style (they bring out plates/bowls that everyone at the table shares). The chicken was flavorful and moist, but for me, it was a little too heavily fried. If you like country/southern...fried chicken, you will probably like it more. The buttermilk biscuits were fantastic, as was the country gravy. Some of the other sides and appetizers were a little weird though. It's $22 per person, which is fair considering the amount of food you get. The service was fast and friendly.More

The chicken and biscuits were phenomenal. Especially the apple butter with the biscuit. The other sides were a bit bland though. Overall great value as we got a couple refills on the chicken. Quick service as well.

My son had heard a lot about this place and we made reservations. (you will want to make reservations as they have become so popular it is difficult to do a walk in.) We all ordered the chicken and my son and I both commented...on how small the chickens were. But they were cooked well. Riced potatoes and gravy and biscuits were excellent. Appetizer was chicken curry soup with two cheese its (not kidding, it made us laugh), and it was very good. Slaw was good. We aren't okra fans, so skipped the okra. Took dessert home for the next day as I just couldn't eat another bite. If you aren't familiar with the menu or restaurant, here is more information. The primary seating times are 5:30; 6:30 and 7:30. You don't need to arrive early as they won't seat you until your reservation time. So it is a mass exodus of people and they clean the tables and seat the next group. They are only open Friday, Saturday, Sunday. Everything is served family style and all food comes out promptly. You can ask for refills. There is a limited beer and wine list and a small cocktail selection. You can take leftovers home. Meal comes with choice of appetizer; ham or chicken (Friday nights they have chicken fried steak as well); and sides as well as desserts or if you pay a bit more, premium desserts. It is a fun experience and worth the drive. Would have given them a five star if the chickens hadn't been on a diet.More

Very disappointed in this restaurant, the hostess was rude, the food wasn’t what is advertised to be. Waitress needed a mint. Dead rat on the walkway heading in. Won’t be going back.

Fried chicken was delicious, as was the whole meal. My favorite thing was the biscuits, hot out of the oven. I had two helpings of biscuits and gravy. The gravy tasted home made. If I ever find out it was canned, I need to know...the brand because it was fabulous. Service was great and timed perfectly. This is a great “special occasion “ place...we were celebrating two birthdays.More

Family style dinning... one fix price comes with all side dishes... you get to choose ypur protein, appetizer and dessert. Pies are extra. The place was opened 68 years ago and it’s syill run by original family with the same menu. The fried chicken is...deliciously crispy, lightly seasoned and very moist. About 30 mins south of Colorado Springs on 115. I wasn’t crazy about the nonalcoholic cherry cider as a cold appetizer but they said it was on the original menu. Great ambiance and super friendly staff. They make you feel right at home. Reservations are highly recommended. They’re pretty busy.More

They are open on Friday Saturday Sunday up until Thanksgiving. Then they close and usually open up again around 1 April. I am not a part of this restaurant but that's just what I know or have heard.
