If you're looking for generous portions, love Thai food and don't want to spend a fortune, then this is the place. It's located in the middle of "Student Ville" and although the venue isn't a place for romantic getaways or special occasions, the food is...really good!More

We visited in late May, as things were just starting to re-open post-COVID. Parking was on-street in the surrounding neighborhoods. Their may have been pay-parking also? We just walked the ~ 2 blocks to the restaurant. You enter a food-court / food-hall configuration from the...main street, and descend some stairs to where the restaurants are located. It appeared that they normally did some level of dine-in (collectively), but that appeared closed now (I don't know what they would have done if we just sat down and started eating...?). There were around 5 - 6 counter-service restaurants down in this area, and 2 - 3 of them were closed at the time. Thai Avenue was staffed by one (brave) lady who cooked, answered the phone, took walk-up orders, etc. She seemed to be keeping pace with things, though the cooking process took a bit of time. I'd guess it is quicker under 'normal' circumstances, though. We placed our order and waited. Eventually, everything was cooked and ready. I tried to leave a generous tip based on her obvious workload. We thought we might have to walk quite a ways to a local park to eat, but the cook-lady noted that they had a patio-thing as you entered (I didn't notice it at first). It was basically a separated area with 3 picnic tables. Plus around noontime, it was in the shade! we gladly just ate there. The only downside to the patio was some local hustler who chatted up some frat boys who'd taken over the adjoining table. He spent most of his efforts on them while we ate, but eventually asked us how things were going (just as we finished). I don't know if he frequents the area, but if you eat there be prepared to fend him off or buy his exotic beers or whatever... In all, I liked this place and would return for the food, though I'd prefer to eat in the food hall, if possible.More

The food here is always excellent with generous portions. Altho the atmosphere is zilch, it still is a great place!

This is the best pad thai in Boulder. Noodle texture and flavor is perfect. Drunken noodles also excellent. Try as I might, I cannot bring myself to try anything else on the menu because I just see the sizzling woks and one of those words...just comes out of my mouth.More

The food here is really amazing. The street noodles, panang curry, and pad thai are my favorite. The only issue is they are only really open for lunch most days. Always worth the trip!

The food is delish but you know that when there is a line of people in a food court and they are ALL waiting to order here. Family owned and run. Great eats on the hill.

This hidden gem is located in a food court up on the hill, so they have slightly different hours than other places, as they sync up with the school year. Hands down, this is my favorite Thai restaurant. Large portions, cheaper prices than anywhere else...I've been, and super friendly staff. You need to go!More

I was prepared to really like this family run Thai restaurant in the food court on the Hill. I have not lived in Thailand, but have traveled there often, and I do not, agree with the other reviewers. This food did not taste like Bangkok street...food to me, and that is what I usually eat in Thailand. And it wasn't especially cheap. The tom yum gai, did not have a full broth taste and it seemed to substitute the subtle Thai spicing of this soup with a hand too heavy with the fish sauce. Also the Basil Fried Rice was bland, and not interesting. Too bad for me, as I would really like a good Thai restaurant, which I have not found in the Boulder area so far.More

This is a great cheap lunch spot. All the food is made fresh by the family that owns the restaurant. This is probably the only business that has been in this food court continuously for more than three or four years - they've been here...at least ten, maybe more. The service is fast and friendly. You can tell by the number of Asians that go here for lunch from CU that it is authentic and good. I really like the drunken noodles and the pad thai.More

We've been coming to Thai avenue for years! It's so delicious, affordable and welcoming with a friendly hello from the owner and cook Kim. Highly recommend the pad prik sod or curries but everything is super yummy. Not recommended for a romantic destination, as it's...cafeteria style but for cheap, healthy great food this place is the best!!!More

I used to live in Thailand and this is the only restaurant in Boulder that actually tastes like Thai street food. Excellent value as well, especially if you go for the lunch special. Haven't been disappointed yet :)

Best Thai food I've ever had, period. Also most reasonably priced. This is a small family owned business. Food is simply amazing. An entree is somewhere around $7 and it is in a food court.

Thai Avenue is a staple of Thai food in Boulder. Located on "The Hill", in the lower level food court at the corner of College and 13th (building on the left if you're looking at the mountains), it is the best restaurant in this court,...and arguably the best place for lunch in the CU Boulder area. Boasting quickly prepared street food, the preparations can be a bit greasy, but the taste is always sublime. They have noodle dishes (Pad Thai and Pad Kee Mow among the most popular), healthier stir fry dishes with white rice (Spicy Eggplant being my favorite), fried rice, curries, and wonderful sides (wontons being my favorite). The staff is extremely friendly! So much so, that if I go in wanting to go to another place and Thai Avenue is open, I end up feeling guilty ... I do not know how the other businesses survive with Thai Ave around ... The Japanese place is gone, and the Shawarma place has been replaced with an awful poutine place where, in total, I've seen 5 customers. Long live Thai avenue!More

I have been to Thai avenue many times and always have had a great AffordableThai meal. It is in the lower level of the food court near the CU campus. It is a great spot for a quick very affordable lunch or take out. The...street noodle dish is always good. The only knock I can think of are sometimes it has been a little too oily but If you ask that can be adjusted. And the hours are limited in the summer as I assume they have less students around... worth a visitMore

We followed advise from TA and in my opinion really not 5 stars. Food was ok served on plastic with plastic utensils ( not what I would think Boulder recycling level) very basic. Price very good for food.
