I was very excited to have lunch at this restaurant considering all good reviews I read. However, today was not the day. To start with service, i lack of words to explain. We came in and waited around five minutes in front of the counter...while a lady waived several times from the kitchen. I could see She was standing next to the stove and while talking to someone, she would on occasion turn to us and wave. I wasn’t sure what that was:-/ We ordered mushroom chana burger, potato cakes, all but chocolate chip cookie from the desert menu and two drinks. The food and drinks were brought to the counter and left there for us to bring it to our table. That felt weird, not even ‘here are your drinks or … Burger was good, ingredients were fresh, but nothing really spectacular. Potato cake was almost bitter from amount of ginger in it. I forced myself to eat one, the other went to the trash. Cilantro sauce didn’t help. Dessert time! I was willing to forget potato cake and could hardly wait to bite into donut hole! What a disappointment when you expect something and get unexpected. I am always for adventures, but this was plain wrong! This was no donut hole, this was spicy power ball that did not have any similarities to donuts. Not one thing. It was heavy and so spicy that I could not finish one ( and we bought 3) Ok, let’s try that cheesecake everyone was talking about! Frozen solid with banana flavor! Definitely not something enjoyable. Tiramisu was nice, but after being so disappointed I did not have energy to go for it. Drinks were both on a very sweet side, blackberry lemonade and Turkish coffee turmeric late. I so wanted to love and enjoy food at this restaurant, but there was nothing to enjoy. Just to clarify, I have been vegan for 8 years, I am also a cook that loves to try foods from around the world, especially to taste vegan foods at different restaurants, I love spices, and I always appreciate fresh ingredients. Maybe today was not the day, but I don’t think I’ll be coming back. There was not even thank you or have a nice day, or come or don’t come again…. …More

I love Baagans chana burgers. They are healthy and filling, full of good things like grilled onions and mushrooms and fresh greens and tomatoes.

Vegan + Indian cuisine = Great Food! Six of us had lunch there. The choices started a little confusing but the owner stepped out to help us. The spice level was a little too mild for the I dian dishes but it was fresh cooked...food, especially he naans. Hats off to the owner for offering a new model! helped us out toMore

I found it in San Francisco, San Ramon. Baagan is a treasure. Truly healthy, organic, non GMO locally source food that will satisfy everyone, vegan and none vegan alike. The homemade (every dish is) Chana and Mung Burgers are outstanding. Try the Mushroom Chana with...cashew or sunflower seed cheese, tomato, super greens, red bell peppers, cucumber and grilled onions or the Spicy Mung Burger with jalapeños. The soups feature a Ayurvedic kitchari with quinoa, millet, lentil, ginger, immunity spices, tomatoes and Kale. Smoothies feature organic berries and banana with turmeric and cashew milk. Exceptional teas and desserts. Come to Chicago please!More

This place is soooooo good!!!! All the burgers are great, but I especially love the mushroom! They make a delicious cilantro lime sauce and I want to take a bath in it. The golden shake is spicy goodness and pretty much I just love this...place and am SO grateful for a plant based option near me. This is the only place I know of in the Lamorinda area. Thank you for being there for us!!More

We visited Bagaan for dinner on a saturday evening. We walked into the place and could easily get a table for 4 of us. The place has a minimalistic and open design and hence looks spacious. The neat display of different detox and immunity tea...bags that they sell, gives an authentic feel to the place. A small chat with the owner will give you a sense of the passion with which she runs this healthy restaurant. We ordered the burgers ( mushroom channa burger and golden mung burger) , cauliflower yam tortillas, quinoa lentil khitchari and lentil soup. I will recommend all of them. The menu has an option of choosing the burger patty with salad in case you want to avoid the burger buns. We decided to try that option during our next visit. The quality of food served was great. Taste was authentic with just the right amount to spice and flavor. The service was quick. The place truly offers value for money. I will recommend this place to anyone who wants to eat tasty healthy vegetarian ( vegan is a bonus) food cooked with care.More

Essentially for me this place was about the mushroom burger, the cheesecake and the smoothies. These all tasted beautiful. The staff were friendly. The pricing was higher than MacDonalds, however the quality for vegans was better. The layout was a little unconventional for a fast...food joint.More

This place has HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! 2 of the Indian ladies in there (One of them is Pam (the little Indian lady wearing a hood, not the owner) will nickel and dime you for every little thing. If you want a little sample cup to...taste a different spread or have one on the side, they will charge you for it!! Pam, (or she might be "Bam"), even had the nerve to ask me for a "TIP" when I was picking up my to food to go?? First of all, she wasn't providing me a service, she was ringing up my "To Go" food?! Really?? The employee Pam has the nerve to ask me for a tip?? This woman "Pam" and another Indian lady there, not the owner), have treated me so rudely, so many times, and nickel and diming everything. My husband and I have literally spent (no joke) several $1000's of dollars here Ann they have treated me so poorly. The two Indian ladies, Pam and the other Indian girl, (Not the owner) tried to tell me I couldn't use my $5 rewards discount, with my $100 gift card, that my mom bought me for my birthday. So ridiculous! They must not want good customers. Whenever I pick up our food there, I feel like they purposefully make me wait 45 minutes every time. I've even seen other people in line after me, get their food before me. I always have to wait ridiculously long wait times to get our food, even when I call the order in 30 minutes before. I have always respected the time they close, yet I still have to wait every single time I try to get my food, no matter what time it is. They are way overpriced for what you get. Several times my food will be just thrown together and completely falling apart, and for that price, unbelievable. I would've expected to be treated a little better after being a regular customer going 4-5 times per week as well as my husband. We've been spending $1,050 there per month, which is ridiculous. It's very upsetting they treat their customers this way. BEWARE!! DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY HERE!!! THEY HAVE THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE YOU'LL EVER EXPERIENCE!!!!!More
