Stopped here for lunch en route to SFO after 10 days' skiing in Heavenly Lake Tahoe. Parked on a meter, across the street. We hadn't booked, as we found, a Monday isn't their busiest. We sat on the terrace in the sun overlooking the American River. Soft drinks, as I was driving. My wife had a burger and I had... More

Went there on a Tuesday evening with a group of business associates. Table of 8 and we had the patio pretty much to ourselves. Took over an hour to get the food and my signature dish of sea bass medallions was not edible. It was so dry and tasteless that I left most of the dinner on the plate. With... More

Stopped by for a quick lunch. Very fast service, attentive waitresses and a comfortable atmosphere. Reasonably priced items (especially for being on the river) & I would highly recommend over the comercialized Crab Shack next door. Try the clam chowder on a cold day-you wont be disappointed!

My son and I came here to eat in October and wanted to sit on the patio. We were a bit disappointed that they had non-transparent plastic up because there had been some rainy weather. I love to watch the river while I eat. There was very little on the menu for people who don't eat meat or fish, but... More

There's really only 2 good restaurants on the Sac River, which is a nice place for brunch or lunch or just kicking back looking at the river and boaters. There are several other good restaurants but they are more the boat in, funky kind Think Crawdad's, Joe's Crab Shack,, Pearl (pretty good), The Virgin Sturgeon, and of course Swabbie's. One... More

Crowded on weekends. I had huevos ranchero's and it was very good. Other family members had brunch and eggs were poor, sausage was poor but pancakes good. Burger not good. Pretty location on the river.

Early dinner before an event at Golden One Arena. Party of six that had a variety of entrees. Getting seated was interesting, we had reservations for party of six which they called to confirm and they prepared a table of 8 for us which seemed to throw them for a loop. Everyone enjoyed the meal and had no complaints. River... More

Assuming the weather is hospitable it is wonderful to sit next to the rail and watch as the various watercraft traverse along side. The food is fine as are the drinks. A wonderful place to take visitors to see a side of Sacramento [Old Town and Railroad museum] they probably don't have a clue exists.

This venue was perfect for my best friend's shower. The brunch and bottomless mimosas were fantastic and the staff so helpful. Stephanie, the event manager, was such a gem and really made the event a success. Set up was easy in our private room and I decorated how I wanted. I highly recommend for anyone looking for a charming shower... More

It is sad but true, old Sacramento needs a facelift. Many of the storefronts are vacant. But if you want a fun and very reasonable place to eat, try Rio City Cafe. The staff are the highlight, very friendly and personable, they truly enjoy their jobs.
