Outstanding service and good menu. It is right on the river and atomosphere was great. I ordered something I did not like and the server noticed I wasn't eating it. She alerted the manager who took it off our bill and asked if they could get me something else. Great service. Highly recommend

Was staying in Woodland and took a 15 min drive into city. Had a great, casual dinner. Must get the cheese bread appetizer! I would go again.

This is my favorite go to restaurant in Sacramento. My companion and I were seated on the patio with great views of the Sacramento River and Tower Bridge. We had pasta and jambalaya for dinner. Both were excellent. The waitress was friendly and efficient. The Rio City Cafe has never disappointed, so I'll be back!

Not only is the view of the Sacramento river breathtaking ...the food is incredibly satisfying. The calamari with deep fried lemon slices is to die for. A must try: the mojito.

There are spiderwebs all over the place. It's impossible to ignore it since it's right in your sight and near your food. The salad we had was tasting good, but the waitress didn't mention it was a small size, too small to only have this for lunch. The place has potential, but they really should have more attention with maintenance... More

We had brunch today with friends at this restaurant located in Old Sacramento along the riverfront. We were there when it opened at 10, quickly seated, and found the Saturday menu loaded with brunch and lunch items in mid-range pricing. My husband is fond of Monte Cristo sandwiches and was delighted to not only find the dish on the menu,... More

Our plan was to have a lovely lunch on the river with friends visiting from North Carolina. Our party of six had a reservation and were seated on the patio. So far, so good. Now , the down side...there were tables of celebrating Sacramento State graduates drinking and shouting. There was also a Coast Guard helicopter circling above and the... More

We ate here twice for lunch, and enjoyed it both times. It's a big restaurant on the river, with lots of outdoor seating, although a bit cramped. Menu choices are basic fare, but very well prepared: our burgers, fish & chips, and salads were all very good. Prices are reasonable. This is a busy restaurant, so it is helpful to... More

I have been to this restaurant several times and it is worth the hassle of going into the Old Town Sacramento on a sunny day or a hot evening to sit outside along the river. The food is always consistent and good. There is nothing extraordinary here, but it's a fun dining experience.

Very good grilled salmon. Unique and flavorful French fries seasoned with rosemary. Good beer selection with a few West Coast beers on draft offered in addition to a few imports. Plentiful outdoor seating along river. Friendly and efficient service. Of note, the menu posted outside the restaurant is the "weekly/weekday" menu and is slightly different from the menu offered on... More
