Unreal. Great food ruined by unprofessional, rude and obnoxious wait staff. Absolutely horrendous service experience. Owner not available. General manager not available. We will not be back. Tell a friend or an enemy…

Food, beverage, service—all top notch. And packed on a Sunday night with locals and out of towners. Very nice bar seating for single or couple walk-ins.
We went for dinner before an event at Vina Robles. Food was not very good. Service was ok. We were very disappointed as the location in San Luis Obispo is fantastic.
The food was bland and the restaurant was cramped. The menu looks great so we were hopeful but must of the food was tasteless.
Delightfully Delish! So delish I forgot to take pictures before partaking… when I remembered, pictures are of the Bruschetta al pomodoro fresco e basilico and Tortiglioni Del Buon Gustaio. I had Zuppa del giorno - Soup of the day: Zuppa Pescone, Insalata di pere and...Orecchiette con rapine e luganega. Dessert: Crema Di Vaniglia Della Buona Tavola, Souffle’ Al Cioccolato and Sorbetto Alle Bacche Di Bosco. This restaurant was packed so be sure to call for reservations.More
We had an excellent meal at Buona Tavola, which included some fresh made pastas and salads. The service was warm and very helpful in terms of answering questions we had about the menu. This is a great choice for Italian food in Paso Robles
Our dinner was first rate from the antipasto through the dessert. Yummy food, yummy wine, wonderful service and a lovely atmosphere. We will definitely return.
Just finishing up dinner at this independent restaurant. As I entered, it was quite busy and seemed promising. I ordered the house special Mojito, San Pelligrino, Beef Carpacio and the seafood feature with Halibut. The carpacio was divine with perfect presentation. Unfortunately, everything else was...less than good. The mojito had the mint mulled too much, leaving the drink tasting solely like alcoholized mouthwash. I notified the male server, listed on the guest check as supervisor. He took the drink away and removed the charge. When I received my entrew, it was served with salmon, not halibut. When I inquired why it wasn’t served with halibut as ordered, I was told I ordered salmon. This is highly unlikely as I don't enjoy nor eat salmon. Moreover, no apology or gesture of error was even offered. I ate the entree with the exception of the salmon. I mentioned it to the male server, and again no apology. And as I review my bill, I was charged for the salmon entree. And as I write this review, with my bill in front of me, 2 servers have now approached me to take my bill. I haven't signed my credit card bill yet, so STOP trying to rush me out as I have been here less than an hour. Needless to say, a dining experience better to forget.More
After finding out that a restaurant that I had made dinner reservations with really did not allow pets on their patio unless they are service dogs, I asked the concierge at my hotel for a recommendation. she did not hesitate, Buono Tavola. We love Italian...and recently returned from two weeks in Tuscany. We were not disappointed. My husband is Italian and never passes up spaghetti and I had the home made tortellini. We both thought we ordered the best meal. Our dog was happy on their friendly patio and we had a wonderful server.More
We have been to Buona Tavola Many times, starting at least 10 years ago. I wrote a glowing review a few years ago. The food has remained consistently outstanding. The kitchen does a super job. The bussers work their tails off. BUT, over the last...two years the service from wait staff has declined to a very low level. It used to be outstanding, with attentive and friendly servers who were knowledgeable about the food. Along with the food, it made us always excited about returning. We have been to this restaurant about 10 times in the last 6 months. The service has been bad every time. I finally decided to update the review. We had to ask 3 times for bread and watch our server standing 10 feet from it doing not much while yelling at the bussers to get it for us. We asked another server if we could move a chair, since the workers kept bumping into my husband - she stared through us like we were speaking in tongues and walked away with no response. Our server almost dumped my meal on my lap while plopping it down while looking away without a word. So sad to not really care if I go back there - good food or not.More
We've eaten at Buona Tavola several times and had very enjoyable meals. This visit was fine, but not at all memorable. As a matter of fact - I don't recall what I ordered. Don't get me wrong - this is still a very good restaurant...and we'll eat there again. Service was very good.More
This charming restaurant in Paso Robles is an absolute gem. We came here for our anniversary on a Thursday night. The place had great reviews and the online pics showed green veggies, not just meat. We reserved for 6 pm, walked into the restaurant and...it was packed with happy diners and families. I don’t think one table was unused. We loved our meal of the special salad with white beans and shrimp, special of veal chop and the fresh pappardelle with shrimp. Fantastic! Melted in your mouth! You can tell they care about the quality of their meat and food in general. The place was very busy so service was slow ( along with post-Covid staffing shortages, I imagine) but it was so worth the wait. Who knew Paso Robles had a place like this, with absolutely stellar Italian food? I think we’ll travel through here more often! 😄 Parking was easy on the street. The staff was friendly and very busy. Diners were dressed casually. The restaurant decor was upscale but not fussy. Everything was lovely. We would have split a celebratory dessert but my husband was impatient after 25 minutes of waiting to order dessert. Plus we’d already been there 2 hours. Overall it was a memorable meal.More
Everything about the meal was over the top! Nice atmosphere, and even though crowded, wasn't so noisy you couldn't talk with your table mates. From the cocktail to the Ceasar Salad, to the meal everything was as expected, and beyond. The Pumpkin Tortellini with cream...sauce and crushed walnuts was supurb. Service was excellent, and the creme brulee at the end of the meal was the best I've had in a long time! Everyone left satisfied and happy! We will go back and I would definitely recommend!More
This is the Paso Robles outpost of an SLO restaurant. The food is good - fairly standard Italian fare. Well make but not noteworthy. Service was friendly but somewhat erratic.
We saw that this restaurant had good reviews and we booked a reservation. It was quite busy when we arrived and had to wait a few minutes for the server to come to the table. We told her we had never been to Paso Robles...and could she recommend a bold red wine. She recommend a bottle from a winery, which we found out later has no bold reds. It was a nice wine but not what we asked for. We ordered a Caesar salad to share and although tasty, did not taste like a traditional Caesar. The pastas we ordered were excellent. Our server was busy and she did not come to check on us much. When we ordered dessert, she recommended the custard that was similar to Creme Brulee according to her. I took a couple of tastes and could not eat it. It tasted sour to me, not bad but not like creme brulee. We told her and she basically told us she was sorry and walked away. We should not have been charged $10.00 for something we did not like. Once the bill came, my husband paid with cash and the hostess returned the change, but shorted us almost $2.00 and when my husband inquired about that, she rudely said "Oh you really want your change? " My husband asked to talk to the manager and was told she was too busy to come to the table. We liked main courses, but can find another restaurant that treats its customers with more respect.More
