Made reservation for 11 of us. Had to sign a Large Group agreement ahead of time, but not a problem. They had setup a table to accomodate all of us. Nice view of the restaurant, outside pool and colorful/unique Mexican woman artist's prints. Drinks and...cuisine was superb. Service very attentive. Had a 70th birthday and 48th wedding anniversary. They surprised them with desert and candle sprewing sparkles. After dinner went to roof, to have drinks, sitting around the fireplace on comfy chairs/sofa. A wonderful experience.More

What an amazing and exceptional experience. From the ambience in the dining room to the rooftop lounge, the decor and feel was off the charts. The food was simply superb. The Toffee Brownie was off the charts delectable. Kudos to the chef and pastry chef.

We reserved a table based on a recommendation and are so glad we did. This is a fabulous restaurant tucked into the Serena Villas. Service is impeccable, friendly and welcoming. Our taco meals-his swordfish and mine cauliflower-were perfectly prepared with a combination of fresh flavors...and so delicious. Portion size was more than ample and at reasonable prices. Be sure to order the chips and guacamole! We ate poolside in a pleasant and relaxing environment; the restaurant opens the upstairs terrace for dinner. If you want someplace special this is the place!More

If you are looking for excellent food in a lovely setting, the rooftop at Azucar is THE place to go in Palm Springs. We dined on a cool March evening but were very comfortable with the warmth from the space heaters. We started with the...sweet potato fries, which were both plentiful and delicious. My wife and I couldn't finish them. For dinner, I had the swordfish and she ordered the king salmon. Both were perfectly prepared and went perfectly with the accompaniments. Neither of us had room for dessert. The service was timely. When you add in the natural beauty of the surroundings, it would be hard to imagine a better dining experience.More

Good reviews so went to the bar up top around 5pm. About 1/2 full. Waited and waited while other people came in and got served. No server paid any attention to us. Then the people next to us were offered a second drink. They pointed...out we had not yet been served. The server then turned to us, but we were tired of being ignored, so left and went to the High Bar, where we got served immediately. Will not return.More

We learned quickly that most of the restaurants on the main strip of Palm Canyon Drive were touristy and unremarkable. Not Azucar! Our experience was exactly the opposite here, with flavorful food and fresh, thoughtful dishes. It was completely unexpected as the restaurant is very...small and part of a boutique hotel, but the chef there is definitely the "real deal", and it's clear he/she takes great pride to serve quality food. The intimate dining room and small staff also ensure a quality service experience. We visited for dinner three times during a five night stay at a nearby hotel!More

This review is for the staff at the Azucar. We stayed at the Del Marcos but went for food and cocktails at the Azucar. The staff couldn’t have been nicer and more accommodating. I would give them “excellent”. The front desk people gave us recommendations...along with calling a cab for an early morning departure. The youngish female bartender in the downstairs bar was friendly and really knew her cocktails. Again excellent. The restaurant evening manager came around to make sure we were being well looked after by staff. We were. If there was a drawback it was the food. Three different times we ate there the food was good then not so good. Consistency seemed to be an issue. Half of the mussels we ordered were not open. The salad we ordered was not outstanding but should have been. With a little tweaking these issues can be addressed. I’m not overly critical as we only ate food served at the bar. I almost feel bad since the service was so good.More

Azucar is, in essence, the pool bar for the La Serenas Hotel. But instead of a casual menu and atmosphere, it’s in a room that opens directly onto the pool, is decorated with colored and patterned pool-like tiles, and serves highly-prepared and lavishly presented items....The filet mignon tacos are not going to be on the menu at most pool bars. Same for the exceptional blood Orange margarita and a “mini” key lime pie that was a very substantial serving.More

Me and my husband came out to the hotel La Serena for some relaxation! We had dinner at a local restaurant and come back to hotel for a night cap at Azucar . We were ready to order when a bartender told us we needed...to move because he had other people coming for this table when the restaurant and rooftop was wide open! So we were seated in a non reserved table to be told it’s reserved! So funny that no one else was ask to move …just us! At this overly priced hotel and restaurant I read the rules as I watched all of them broken by groups and single guests. I love the hotel but this left me fuming! Good paying guest shouldn’t be treated this way!More

The servers and bartender were great, the only thing that saved this from a single star review. We waited over an hour and a half for three orders of the chicken lettuce wraps, an order of steak tacos, and a salad. All of this would’ve...been easier to overlook if the GM wasn’t so rude. She was asking us to vacate our table as the food was finally arriving, and had no problem blaming every member of her staff but herself. The food wasn’t worth the wait, I’ve had better chicken from a frozen bag. Her attitude towards customers, and particularly towards her helpful and friendly staff, is reason enough for me to never visit again. PS has plenty of delicious independent restaurants that deserve more customers. This is absolutely not one of them.More
