Honestly, the best pizza ever!

I live in Bakersfield, and I honestly cannot find a decent pizza, but Gianni's never disappoints. We had a medium veggie pizza that was loaded! We had it delivered to our motel, which was very quick. I love that they put a mesh piece in the bottom of the box so the pizza does not get soggy, especially being a veggie pizza. You will not find grease (well, I can't speak for if you get a meat pizza) as we often find even with veggie pizza's. I forgot to ask for plates and peppers and parm, but those came with the delivery. We used the local delivery service and the tax, delivery service, and tip were all included in the charge and STILL it was probably $10 cheaper than a pizza in our town. Last time we were in Pacific Grove we went to the pizza parlor and received good service, the place has a great ambiance, and again the pizza's were amazing. Can't say enough good things.

Good Pizza, Good Values

A REAL SIT_DOWN PIZZA Parlor I really liked this pizza. It had lots of toppings and lots of cheese. But the crust and sauce are a little bland. It’s true I ordered a veggie pizza, but the sauce and toppings were about an inch from the edge and they did not have ant flavor. Perhaps they needs to be coated with garlic butter or cheese. They need something to add flavor The crust seemed cooked well and I really did like the pizza, the outer edges of the crust needed some help; The sauces was a little bland, but it was hard to tell with all the topppings and cheese. I would definitely go back. The ice cream looked tempting and unique, but the price was pretty high for me $11 a pint.

Like I said before, been coming to Gianni's from almost the time they opened. Whenever I come back home, they are always a must visit. Sometimes little to no change is a good thing. They still are old school, and the food reflects it! While they have a good variety of things, I always go traditional. Pepperoni pizza, couple of bread sticks (which could be a meal by themselves), black cherry gelato (YUM!!). This time I was a Sunday evening walk in, so I had to wait almost an hour for my order, which I didn't mind. I just sat out front and took in New Monterey. If you're on a schedule they take phone in orders and I see they do Grubhub, but for me that family atmosphere is worth hanging around. Still the best on the Central Coast!

Horrible liars treat customers like garbage

They take your order then wait til you show up to make it. We carefully timed everything so we could stop by when it was ready. They were not busy yet inexplicably the pizza took just exactly as long as it takes to make and cook one before it was ready. If you policy is to not make it until the customer arrives say so on your order page. Waste of our time, later for an engagement and insulted,

Great Pizza, but watch your bill.

We had a very delicious pizza at Gianni's. Great crust and delicious toppings. (Fresh mushrooms, excellent sausage). Counter service was fast and friendly. We noticed later we had been overcharged by a few dollars. (33.50$ seemed high for a medium pie) Mistakes happen and I would still eat here again, just pay better attention to my bill. Plenty of seating, Coke products. Try ordering pizza "crispy" next time. Wr

Trip Advisor Good Grief you can do better! We had dinner here the one night we stayed in Monterey and oh what a mistake that was. Staff was friendly but the pizza was NOT good at all. I am certainly no pizza expert but it was bland and between the 3 of us none of us enjoyed our meal. I would definitely look elsewhere as there certainly has to be somewhere better in Monterey to eat than this place. Sorry it just is NOT good.

Disappointing outside the pizza choices

The best thing about Giannis was the breadsticks with tomato dipping sauce. Everything else was disappointing and the spaghetti vongole was inedible with chewy clams. It is a seat-yourself, order from the bar place with refillable drinks - all casual and fine but you also need the food to be good, which we didn’t think it was. That said the restaurant was packed and so we were obviously in a minority; it seemed very popular.

Pizza fine, Lasagne terrible

Ate here last night, busy place but little atmosphere. I don't eat pizza in USA as find them to be very doughy with enormous crusts, hubby however doesn't mind them and said the one he ordered was fine. I chose the lasagne and was very disappointed, whilst the last and sauce within the dish was okay the meat it contained was horrible - it tasted and smelt awful. The staff were pleasant and the place was clean enough (we didn't use the rest rooms so can't comment). Parking facilities were very good. Would we go back? No, plenty of other options in and around the area that we would choose over this place.

Great value local pizza

Great local pizza place. You place your order at the counter then wait to get served. Fantastic value $2 breadsticks with marinara sauce to start followed by great pizza. Large pizza would fill the hungriest couple. Superb value for money.

Really Good Salad

I really enjoyed the salad we got!! The pizza was just ok which was a disappointment cause friends of ours raved about this place. The place was super busy on a Saturday night and it took double the time promised to get our pick up order. Overall I wouldnt go back cause the the pizza was just ok.

Started working there when they first opened up. Very small Ice Cream shop there before and the way they make their pizza's and service was and is still above the rest. Pizza is absolutely fantastic! Won't go anywhere else. Keep up the great job!

Best pizza in Monterey

This is the place to go for pizza in Monterey! We visit Monterey several times a year and someone recommended Gianni’s. Parking lot was full on a Wednesday night, and it’s obviously where the locals go. The pizza was excellent, the service was great and the atmosphere is very inviting. Would have loved to try the gelato- next time I will!

Never disappoints

We always stop for pizza and a salad everytime we come to Pacific Grove. We have been coming twice a year for over 20 years. It was disappointing not to see the place packed but still have a great staff and excellent pizza.

Busy, friendly Italian, great pizza and plenty of seating.

Visiting from the UK for a few days. Fabulous Italian restaurant. Not fancy but the service is fast and the food is great. Really friendly and generous portions. There were 3 of us and we ordered a big wheel pizza and boxes just under half. Breakfast sorted for tomorrow!!
