I visited Crumbs on Friday, May 27, 2022. It is terrific to have Crumbs return to operation. Crumbs is definitely one of the best places to eat in the Fall River Mills / Burney area. Lots of fresh food options, see 2022 menu photos. There was fresh wild salmon special the night I was there.
My favorite from past visits is the "dinosaur egg". For 2022 the recipe has been changed; the avocado half is no longer deep fried, now the crab is severed over bed of avocado puree -- less labor intensive I guess. My only quibble with the food preparation is that spices (e.g. ginger, chili powder) are applied liberally, one might say too heavy handed, so that that the underlying flavors are shouted out.
Service was attentive.
Corkage $10.
I will return!

Something for everyone. They have burgers, steaks, sushi and pasta. The wedge salad, yay!! The crab cream wontons, yum!!! The dragon roll was scrumptious! The ahi was incredible and the blue cheese New York was to die for. I highly recommend the signature potato!

They squeezed us in at the cook’s counter when we showed up at the last minute (make reservations). We got a great, birds eye view of the master at work and enjoyed very nice local craft beer from Mill River, dinosaur egg California roll and very good beef brisket and fettuccini. The wedge salad is also exceptional. It is a really nice, low key place that is worth the 15 mile from the 89 (20 miles from Burney). The drive is actually very scenic, going past a huge river gorge.

Had dinner tonight at Crumbs and what a special treat! Service was amazing, we had reservations and arrived a little earlier than reservation BUT they were able to seat us early. Food was as excellent as the service and McArthur is so lucky to have this restaurant in their community. It would be worth driving from Redding, Alturas and will be back on my next visit!

I frequently entertain thoughts of hopping in my car and driving the five hours to McArthur when I see posts about the nightly dinner special on the Crumbs Facebook page. Alas, it makes sense to wait until I'm in the area for a trip (which happens every couple of years) and then stop in. The menu is never exactly the same, but there are a few constants: quality, thoughtfully selected ingredients, a definite Japanese influence on parts of the menu (in the form of sushi offerings, among other things), and generous portions. The owner's passion for food and creating community is evident. I always leave full, and I've never been disappointed! Frankly though, one of the things that colors my impression of this restaurant is the comparative quality of the surrounding area. This kind of food could hold its own in any big foodie city, but given the (underwhelming) options around McArthur and the surrounding towns, it's really unequivocally the best dinner within an hour or two of driving.

Oh my gosh! My husband and I ate here for our anniversary on September 25th. It's been 4 days and I still can't stop thinking about the food! I had the Chicken and Brisket Donburi Bowl and my husband had the "Second best brisket my wife has ever had". We were both blown away by our food! Mine (the bowl) might have been one of the best meals of my life!! The different flavors and textures were Amazing and the sushi rice was the bomb! I can't say enough about it. The cheesy green chili soup with the beef was so good as well! The atmosphere was really nice the chef greeted us from the open kitchen upon arrival and departure. Definitely recommend a reservation! This place is not to be missed!

For tourists just rolling through, Crumbs will likely elicit a “how did this restaurant end up here?” reaction. Inventive and exciting. And with real care for ingredients. All in tiny McArthur, population around 350. Plenty of locals are in on the secret of Crumbs, but if you are in the area touring, don’t pass this one by.
The open kitchen reveals that Chef Travis is a one-man show, so the food is not speedy...but quality takes time. We came one night and sat at the kitchen bar and watched Travis do his thing and the experience was so good we made reservations for the next night.

My wife and I had dinner last evening at Crumbs. This is the second time we have had dinner at Crumbs in the last 2 months. This visit we both had brontosaurus chicken and it was fantastic. We sat at the bar to have our dinner and watched Travis the chef/owner prepare our meal as well as others.
In late May we had dinner at Crumbs with another couple, my wife and one of our friends had the Ahi Tuna, I had the chicken & brisket Don Buri bowl and our other friend had the Fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp, again the dinners were
We have had the Crab Money Bags appetizers on both visits and the Grown-Up Tater Tot on our first visit, these appetizers were great.

7 people went and it was so GOOD. We are pretty good judges of food. We all had something different.
The was very good. I ordered a special bowl with shrimp and chicken plus rice and vegetables. It was great. Another person ordered fish and some people had sushi.
All food was eaten and it was great. I highly recommend this place

This restaurant is only open a few days a week. We try to stop here every time we can. We even adjust our trips sometimes to try to catch them open. The food is exceptional. The first time we stopped we were amazed. Now, we expect the best, but they never disappoint.

A wonderful event in a small town. If you like sushi you are in luck. There is a full menu including steaks. brisket of beef, daily soup specials and salads. We sat at the counter and watched the chef do his think. The activity was intense but the orders kept coming. The atmosphere is very pleasant and the service is super. A great stop!!!!
